37 RV Parks near Rumney, New Hampshire
Aug 2011 - $33.00
Management was friendly. The dump site was a bit awkward (natural lean away from receptacle and a tight turn to the right to exit) but adequate. - SCClockDr
Jun 2010 - $30.00
Nice river front area. I only had 20 amp service. It was OK. The site was big. It's a nice campground for small rigs and tents. - Dnrest
Jan 2009 - $36.00
We thoroughly enjoy this place! We come and stay without a dinghy. Just a relaxing weekend with our dogs at the river. They love it! We are a big rig for what usually frequents this location. As such we sometimes overdraw on the electric. Doesn't create any serious problems. We are here for some relaxation at the river's edge and haven't needed our AC though we do need to fire up the generator to run the microwave if needed. This is not a drawback to us as our needs and draws are simple. We come to kick back and relax. - naskarbeth
Oct 2016 - $55.00
Since the last review was so dated, I thought it could use a more recent one. I was told this CG is under recent new ownership and the new owners were very pleasant and accommodating and seem very enthusiastic about the place. It is a nice place, wide open, clean and bright. We stayed there due to it being so close to the Polar Caves...and glad we did. Our stay was just recently (Fall), so we didn't get to use the pool. Overall it was decent and we would stay again. - DaveNH
Aug 2016 - $55.00
We just bought our first travel trailer and Riverbrook was our first campsite experience. From the beginning the experience was great. The owners were friendly and willing to offer any assistance we needed with getting to our site as well as setting up. The facilities were clean, the rec room was clean with free games for the kids and the pool was also clean.
The owners are new an have a great vision for the park. They have already begun to institute many new improvements (based on what the seasonal members had to say).
They had a campground olympics the weekend we were there and the boys (ages 11 & 13) had a awesome time.
Overall a great experience for a novice camper and we look forward to returning again in a few weeks.
Great campground, take part in the activities as they provide a great social opportunity to meet the fellow campers. - Mitty2000
May 2011 - $36.00
We visited this park for the third time. Each time we return the staff and property seems to improve! Two live bands played Saturday afternoon and into the early evening. The second band was a bluegrass band. They put on a awesome show! All of the amenities are always clean (restrooms, pool, store, etc..) My wife and I will always return. The hassle free, experienced, and friendly staff make a weekend easy to enjoy! - lg32
Jul 2016 - $35.00
Great place if you want to retire. I don't know what's louder the campers or the crickets. It's lights out at 8:30....pretty awesome. - Scooby1
Jun 2015 - $25.00
We first chose Pine Haven because of the location to most of what north New Hampshire had to offer. It is about a 45 minutes to an hour drive to many of the great sites. First off, this is a campground and not a resort, so if you are looking for resort style camping, this is not for you. What you do get is a wonderfully run campground by some wonderful people. We had planned on staying two weeks but extended two more weeks to have some work taken care of at Camping World. We looked at five other campgrounds closer to Camping World, but none of them were as nice as Pine Haven.
The owners take amazing pride of Pine Haven and it spreads to all the people that stay there. The seasonal campers are by far the nicest group of people we have met since we started full time traveling six months ago. The sites are large, private, and well shaded. Water and electric were ideal, Wi-Fi had some issues, but being taken care of by the staff. There was minimal cell service for Verizon so several times we had to drive a few minutes down the road so our calls wouldn't drop (obviously not something controlled by the campground, just an FYI). Bath houses are old but clean, laundry is in a covered porch, needs to be updated and has cold water only.
There are events for children and adults, which usually have great turnouts. It is very quiet, even when fully booked during the 4th of July weekend. Typical noise during the day, no disturbances at all, and completely peaceful at night. If you plan on coming here for a weekend party blowout, go somewhere else.
The nightly rate is based on a monthly rate for our stay. If we return to New Hampshire next summer, we will definitely return to Pine Haven. - pfogleboch
Aug 2014 - $36.00
This campground is a hidden gem among the campgrounds in NH. It is clean, fun, and friendly. There is much to do in this area and discover. You could hike in Tenney mountain area or shop in local antiques or bargains. If you care to travel a little the White Mountain attraction are not far. Your hosts/owners are gracious and more than helpful for all your needs or information. Sites are level and more wooded with w/e hookups at river. We stayed in a pop-up. - Hargus
Jul 2013 - $41.00
Very nice place, very friendly staff. Has a couple of playgrounds, one near us on the sites near the river. Extra stuff for the kiddies - the Mining Adventure and panning for gems, a pool and a splash pad. Lots were a wee bit small on the river but staff had talked to us ahead and were very helpful in their recommendations for a site big enough for our trailer. - SharonW.
Aug 2011 - $39.00
We stayed here one week. Rate reflects extra dollar a day for cable and 7 for 6 night discounted rate. We had a nice brook side site. Waste water location was really far back on site so we just made it by stretching our 2 hoses to the max. In my opinion, the only negative was Saturday night when they had a DJ sound system come in to play music until quiet time. The low notes were shaking our 5th wheel. I guess it tired out the 10 to 12 year olds who danced to it. We would come back but ask to be a little further from the action. - srfnut
Sep 2009 - $35.00
Love this campground, lots of activities for every age group. Good walking areas too, great activities for kids. - kowalmc
Jun 2008 - $37.00
As with all my reviews I like to qualify my taste in campgrounds because that tends to influence your rating significantly. I love woodys shady sites with lots of privacy so if your a RV resort concrete slab pave road type of camper this is not the campground for you. But if your like me and like the woods and the feeling of being out in the deep woods sitting around the campfire this place is AWESOME ! The campground is very small and very basic no fluff here. There is a beautiful rambling brook that splits the campground down the middle on one side is the tenting area. The tenting area is one of the best I've ever seen. Beautiful large VERY private sites, many that run along the river. If your into riverside "deep woods feeling" type of tenting this is the place. There are really no activities to speak of they do have a excellent basketball court and a basic mini-golf and small playground BUT if your into hiking they have an excellent hiking area that gives you beautiful outlooks and there is tons of hiking in the area as well. Lots of other tourist attracts close by too. Majority of the sites are small rig type of sites there are a few that can handle larger units up to 35'. We camped in a 35' 5th wheel right on the brook electric and water no sewer. The site was beautiful, quiet, private, nice round stone fireplace, and the sound of water running over the rocky riverbed all day and night. If you looking a for a nice quiet relaxing place this is it, nothing fancy just nature. The store was small and provided basic needs. The bathroom was rustic but clean. One glaring negative, the dumpstaion is on the wrong side so you have to navigate a u-turn to dump then again to leave. I don't quite understand why the don't rectify that situation. We will definitely be back, its an excellent quiet relaxing campground for just hanging out or using as a base for all the fun things to do in the area. - Quint
Jul 2007 - $33.00
The website and its description of the campground is quite misleading. The brook was stagnant as was the thickly weeded pond, so swimming was not an option. They had a new basketball court and mini golf course. My children, both under 6, were not allowed to use the mini golf. The rec room was closed during posted open hours. Bathroom facility although clean was very small with two toilets and two shower stalls. We stayed one night of our planned three. Management did refund our money for the other two nights. - Lucas874
Sep 2012 - $27.00
As previously stated new owners are friendly and working hard on improvements. New pool was open. Owners were waiting for pool heater to be hooked up which will be a nice touch. We had a nice site with privacy but theses sites are vanishing quickly because the owners are putting in a lot of seasonals. I doubt that if we wanted to stop here next year we would find an adequate site for our 37' RV. Cable lines were lying on top of the ground as well as water lines and sewer pipes. Labor day weekend was noisy. Folks next to us were loud after quiet time and started using foul language in their conversations but they were all gone in 2 days. Holderness is where they filmed On Golden Pond. The tenting area was nicely set in the woods. Won't stop here again since all the good sites we saw are being converted to seasonal. - rv4rob
May 2012 - $35.00
This campground has new owners who are doing a good job of bringing it up to date. They put in a new pool which was not ready when we were here Memorial Day weekend but which I understand was ready the following week. They are also doing a lot of landscaping. Our sites were fine. We were travelling as a large group and got 5 sites together. The kids participated in the activities that were offered and really enjoyed them. Dogs were welcome. One warning, there were lots of mosquitoes. I did see on their FaceBook page that they sprayed sometime after we visited. I would stay here again. - sbradley
Aug 2007 - $37.00
This was a campground with lots of seasonals. The dump station and showers were out of order. "Just been inspected and approved by Woodall's". The campground was noisy and sites very close together, in-fact my neighbor on the drivers side had his fire roaring within 8 feet of my dining slide. No monitoring noted by owners. - t.c.fal.sr
Jun 2016 - $72.00
Dusty at dry times, should treat roads to keep dust down. - Bert102
Jun 2015 - $72.00
This is a great place but is hilly for sure. Great pool and snack bar and the store was good as well. Staff was great and friendly. In the past security had been a little over the top but were great this time. The place really quiets down at 10 which is good. Our site which was not too level but most seemed to be level do we wrote a few numbers down as we walked around. WiFi and cell service available down front but not at the sites. Ice cream sundaes were great on Sat night. We will be back. - Happy Camper X2
Jul 2014 - $60.00
Very wooded campground and hilly, but no problem to drive thru. Sites are a good size with good space between each. No ATT cell service in area at all; wifi only available around pool area. Pool is a definite attraction. Family campground. Ice cream sundaes on Saturday night are awesome. Bears are a daily occurrence. - User3168
Oct 2016 - $36.00
We have been spending our weekends at Newfound RV, on and off throughout the past 6 years. I'm a fan! The owners have increased weekend occupancy from 40% to 75% during their 4 year tenure. Two things are responsible for this. They are avid campers as well as being retired from the US Coast Guard, they know what it means to serve others.
The sites are pull thru and long. They consist of a level gravel pad. The water, electricity, WiFi, and sewer are excellent. The sites are a little close. The park is very quiet. We don't use the cable as the Directv signal is excellent.
We live in NH and have friends with access to Newfound Lake. This park is excellent for us. It's also excellent when we just want to get away to a quiet area. - ggill25185
Sep 2016 - $20.00
Recently taken over by new owners. They are working hard to make it a nice place. Satisfied my needs - small and quiet. Owner easy to work with and somewhat of a character. Has been RVing for over 30 years, so knows what needs to be done to run a good operation. Wish them much success. - Plastic Man
Sep 2016 - $45.00
This was a surprisingly great stay. We love "Mom & Pop" parks, and this was one of the best. Paul is just great...always coming by in his golf cart to be sure all was well and to chat for a bit. This is a no-frills place but so peaceful and quiet, just what we wanted. Great space for our dogs to run around. We appreciate the lack of "list of rules" whereby everyone is assumed to be an adult capable of behaving as such. Plenty to see and do in the surrounding area and SO beautiful! Newfound Lake is just gorgeous. We would definitely go back to this park. Again, thanks Paul! You're great. We always appreciate an escort to our site, and while it wasn't necessary here, Paul still did it! We had full hook up and great cable TV too. - wandering2
Aug 2014 - $40.00
Wi-Fi only available at office. No cable and very wooded, so little chance of satellite view. Extremely friendly owner of campground. Very quiet at night, little to no road noise. There is an extremely infrequently used train track and trestle. As a matter of fact it gets used as a diving area into the river. The campground has a great setup for canoeing, kayaking or tubing on the river. Store prices are not out of line. The campground electric boxes and wiring appear relatively new, and we had no electric issues. The only downside to the campground is that it is all dirt. Roads and sites are dirt, and the owner states that they are prohibited from paving or restricting water drainage or creating any run off into the river. Location is right off the interstate which is incredibly convenient, and no the interstate is quiet and hardly ever heard in the campground. Overall a nice peaceful campground. - Cbones
Jul 2014 - $43.00
We booked with friends for the main reason to tube on the Pemi River. They had stayed here before and it was our first time. We had our own tubes and were brought up river by campground staff for $5 per tube. This part was great, we had fun out on the river. The check in was easy and the staff was fine, I think it was the owner checking us in. Our site was a good size, we just had to watch where we put the trailer so we could open the slides and the awning with all the trees. So far so good. Took a walk, lots of people around, all having fun. Had a fire, all is good. This is your basic campground which was fine. It is next to the highway but not an issue for us as we were on the other end of the campground. Now for the issue, there is one rude seasonal camper and I think other campers and the staff are afraid of him. Three times during our stay this person put a CD into his truck radio, opened the doors and blasted music, mostly military type drill marches. Half the campground stopped in their tracks to look to see what was going on. The staff's answer to this was not to ask him to stop but that we could move if we wanted to, they would not tell him to stop even though it is their #1 rule. His wife asked him to turn it down and he yelled out that he was going to torture all the liberals camping. He even yelled as some people walking by as they did not come to attention. Anyway, I usually try not to let one item rule the day or the rating but the fact that management lets this go on without stepping in is where my problem is. If it was addressed then it would not be an issue. On another note, we had a lot of rain and the campground seems to have a drainage issue as the roads and some sites were under water. They did have some trucks showing up with dirt so they are working on this to improve the campground. - Happy Camper X2
Jun 2014 - $43.00
This is a nice, clean no frills campgrounds. Our site was not as spacious as we had hoped but the site was prepared for our arrival. The beach was nice for our children as the river is fairly shallow. The playground is OK. The real negative about this campground is the fact it is right off of I93 and you have constant road noise. Water had good pressure and power was constant. - lopenzani
Jul 2007 - $40.00
Very nice, well maintained campground. Owners seem like nice people and they work round the clock updating and cleaning the campground. Sites were well sized, clean, etc. The campground is close to just about anything you would want to do in New Hampshire. Any criticism would be on the charges for camp activities and deposits required for using rec room equipment. - JButler
Aug 2006 - $30.00
Campground is more than a mile up an unpaved, overgrown and unkempt dirt road. We called to check available site and gave the our dimensions and were told to come. We were not told that the one spot available for a 36', triple slide would be two campsites side by side. Next morning when attempting to leave, we were boxed in by overgrown trees which a fellow camper was kind enough to cut enough limps to get me out. Backing out was not possible. My souvenir is many new scratches on my motorhome. On the other hand the owners were friendly and they have installed new cabins if that is your thing. Not for big rigs! - CT Nomads
