Overall Rating:

This is a quiet, clean campground, with gravel roads and level, grass, back-in sites. There is a swimming pool, river access, small playground, and open grassy area to walk dogs. Poor OTA TV reception, but campground WiFi worked fine. Sites are fairly roomy, with a few sites large enough for big rigs. We would stay here again.

Sign for this campground still said "Tarry Ho". This was a good place to stay while exploring the White Mountain area. We camped at Along the River in a Cabin.

Also called Tarry Ho. Level spot, 50 Amp sites are in a sunny open area. Plenty of room for big rigs. Tent sites along the river are very pretty. Decent spacing, good power and hookups. Good WiFi. Quiet at night. Lots of room to walk the dog. Convenient to lot of attractions without being right in the congestion. We camped at Along the River in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Basin walk was very pretty in Franconia. Dogs are allowed. Must visit the Mt Washington hotel, it is lovely. Drive up to Mt Washington on a pretty Day was fun. Found a little farmers market in Bethlehem. Ate at Fabyans and really enjoyed it.

We stayed one night as we were exploring the White Mountains. Friendly reservations, easy check-in. Formerly Tarry-Ho, it's now Along the River. Nice level spot with grass, easy back-in. Good wifi. We heard some road noise but it quieted down at night. Would stay here again. We camped at Along the River in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is an older, woodsy, low key campground by a river, ideally located for visiting Mount Washington for the cog railway and a short drive to Franconia State Park. It's on a busy main road but our site further in was quiet. The Wi-Fi signal was very strong, a refreshing and welcome change from so many campgrounds. When I realized a few days ahead that I had booked a 20-amp site by mistake, the owner immediately and graciously responded by email that it would be no problem to move us to a 30-amp.

Full payment by credit card was required when reserving our three-day stay, with the Good Sam discount applied online. (Note that there is a fee of at least $25 if you cancel after booking, which might be typical in any summer resort area.) I found the website a bit difficult to navigate in terms of reserving a specific site type and number for specific dates. Might be best to email or pick up the phone to reserve. We camped at Along the River in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Good Sam discount is available but as we stayed for 7 nights pay for 6 and one free was a better deal. This is a small rustic very quiet campground under new ownership. We give a perfect 10 for the friendly and helpful welcome. All grass sites which are a little bumpy, ours was a very good size easily accommodating the trailer and tow truck. There is a picnic table and fire ring. No cable and only one channel on antenna but the wifi was excellent. Pool and play area and lots of recycling which we love. It's not a problem for us as we have our own washer and dryer but no laundry facilities on site. It's a perfect location for visiting the White Mountains. We certainly recommend. We camped at Along the River in a Fifth Wheel.

Very scenic area. Grocery shops 20 miles away in Littleton but a lovely drive and Littleton is a fabulous town.

Owner is very nice and helped us with any questions we had.

We arrived mid week and it was not busy. Pretty quiet. Started to get more people coming in on Friday. Liked it so much putting a deposit down for longer stay next year. Excellent time relaxing!! We camped at Along the River in a Travel Trailer.

We enjoyed our stay at TarryHo very much. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This is an older campground with new owner and management. They seem to be working very hard to bring it back to its former glory. The only reason I did not rate it higher is the fact that there are no laundry facilities either at the park or in the local community. We would stay here again. We camped at Along the River in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to Franconia Notch State Park. Plenty of shopping in Littleton (about 15 miles) and Conway (about 30 miles). Near White Mountain National Forest. The Conway Scenic Railroad in Conway and the Cog Railroad at Mount Washington are relatively nearby. Great area for bicyclists to test their skills.

We stayed two nights while spending one day on the Mt. Washington Cog Railway and one exploring the local parks. We were among about a half dozen campers in the entire park and had our choice of open, level grass back-ins. Given the mild weather we chose a 30Amp site, but 50s are available for a slight surcharge. WiFi and Cell were good. The river runs along one side of the property and our grandson enjoyed poking around there. We would stay here again. We camped at Along the River in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

It is best NOT to buy fuel at the local "garage" near the campground. Go around the corner to the Trading Post (35 cents a gallon on diesel).

Dinner at the Pub North of the intersection was excellent.

Overall Rating:

The location alone gives this campground some hope. The campground is located in the beautiful White Mountains and right down the road from the historic Mount Washington Hotel and Cog Railroad. The campground is right on the Ammonoosuc River where we saw several people fly fishing in the creek and other floating down on tubes. I should mentioning that this campground is under new management and the new owners had the campground for 1 year. It appears that some of the buildings have been renovated, but there are still items that could be done in the short term to make it a little more attractive.

Our rate of 22.00/night reflects a 2 nights for the price of 1 on Coutopia. Making the reservation with the coupon was a little confusing as the staff did not know how to apply the funds. It took a few phone calls and speaking with the owner directly in order to make the reservation. Once at the campground we requested to change our site as it was along a busy Route 302. They were very accommodating and allowed us to walk the campground and then change our site. Our site was full hook-up with 30amp on a level grass site. The pedestal was easily accessible, the electricity was good and the water pressure was sufficient. The campground has a pool and river access which made it very nice for the hot days in July. The bathrooms and showers were clean. We camped at Along the River in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There are several hiking trails around the area. I would recommend driving down Route 302 to the Mount Washington Hotel and Crawford Notch! Also take a trip up the Mount Washing Via the Cog Railroad.
