Overall Rating:

The Twin Mountain area is in a remote part of Northern New Hampshire, with the local attraction being Mount Washington. This KOA is typical of all their parks. It was clean and the staff was helpful and courteous. Also typical of all KOA's is the price - somewhat high (even though I have a KOA membership). When you check in, an employee guides you to your site and helps you to maneuver into position. I found the Wifi to work reasonably well and the cable TV (mandatory, since this is in the mountains) was good. Although our site was at the front of the park with shade trees on both sides, they have a newer section in the back of the park that is open and sunny, if this is what you prefer. Our site was level with both a picnic table and fire ring, although we didn't use them. A good park to visit if you don't mind paying the price. We camped at Twin Mountain / Mt. Washington KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

As mentioned above, Mt. Washington is the main attraction in this area. Ride the cog railway (although it was very crowded on the day we were there) to the top to get a different experience. There are minimal services in this area, but there are a couple of eating locations, a general store, and two gas stations (one of which has diesel).

Located in New Hampshire's scenic White Mountains is Twin Mountain / Mt. Washington KOA. In true KOA fashion, this park has all the amenities one has come to expect at KOAs: pool, dog park, large playground, and a well-stocked store. The park also has its Gemstone "Mine," where participants can pan for gemstones or arrowheads, and the Barrel Express with daily rides for children. This large park is divided into several different sections; we stayed in the deluxe patio area. Check-in was accomplished quickly by very friendly staff and we were escorted up the hill to our pull-through site with perfect satellite reception. Our gravel site included a concrete patio, stone fire ring, barbecue, and an ornamental patio table and chairs. In addition to a variety of RV sites, the park also has cabins available as rentals. While we were there, an EF 0 tornado quickly and unexpectedly blew through our section of the park, tearing off awnings, knocking out power, and downing trees. The staff, and also the staff of nearby RV parks, immediately came back to the park and worked long into the night to clean everything up. By the next morning, you could hardly tell that anything had happened. It was amazing! The owners of this park certainly have a staff of which they can be very proud. We camped at Twin Mountain / Mt. Washington KOA in a Motorhome.

While staying at Twin Mountain / Mt. Washington KOA, we rode our bikes on the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail, hiked up Flume Gorge in Franconia Notch State Park, hiked the Greeley Ponds Trail, visited the town of Littleton, situated at the northern edge of the White Mountains, and on a beautifully sunny day, rode the Mount Washington Cog Railway, the world's first mountain-climbing cog railway.

Overall Rating:

This is a lovely park and conveniently located near the Cog Railway, Twin Mountain, many hiking trails, tour trains, etc. Check in was quick. We were escorted to our site. WIFI was poor, which is pretty typical. AT&T provided only 2 bars of 3G. In the deluxe pull through sites there is a clear view of the sky, so used our own DISH satellite. Back in sites are tight and shady, so a DISH would not work there. Water pressure was good, and electricity was stable. We stayed in deluxe pull through site with a cement patio, pots of flowers, and availability of a covered pavilion that had a gas grill, comfortable patio furniture and a fire pit. Many weekenders gathered there, and it was very friendly setting. The deluxe sites were very pleasant, but not worth the $80 price tag. The campground has a pool and train rides for the kids, but nothing else in the way of "resort" amenities that we have seen at many other RV resorts. Bathrooms, laundry, camp store were all well maintained and pleasant. Unfortunately, because of the overpricing, we would not stay here again. We camped at Twin Mountain / Mt. Washington KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Loads of things to do in the area. Ask the office for info on the Cog Railroad. We enjoyed lunch on the veranda at the Omni Mt Washington Hotel which was quite grand (wear resort attire, not camp clothes). We enjoyed hiking and many waterfalls in the state park. There is a train that takes you on a tour of the state park. Cell coverage is weak everywhere in the area. Grocery stores and pharmacies are few and far between.

One of our new favorite campgrounds. The owners are working hard to improve the facility and you can see the results of their efforts. WiFi was strong and consistent. The facilities are spotless and new/upgraded. We stayed in a patio site that was very nice, private and well appointed with a concrete patios, table and chairs and nice stone fire ring. They have a new section of pull through with even nicer patio sites and more room for bigger rigs. Only down side was some road noise at our site, and the site was not real level. Fantastic staff! We camped at Twin Mountain / Mt. Washington KOA in a Motorhome.

I can't say enough good things about this campground. The owners and staff are friendly, hospitable, and accommodating. The kids had a great time at the park and being pulled behind the 'train' every night. The owner even came by our site everyday to check in and make sure everything was going well! The wifi was amazing - we had strong signal our whole stay! We camped at Twin Mountain / Mt. Washington KOA in a Motorhome.

This was our first trip to New Hampshire, found Twin Mt. KOA centrally located to area attractions and easy travel from the interstate. We stayed in the new deluxe site #102. It was well spaced on all sides, utilities well located, no trees. Park very well taken care of, staff excellent, good interior roads, clean bathrooms, nice play area and dog park. Will definitely come back, would have rated a 10 but WiFi and cable in new area were still a work in progress. Saw our first moose two miles down the road. We camped at Twin Mountain / Mt. Washington KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This area is truly a active vacation wonderland. From tourist attractions like Flume Gorge, Cannon Mt, the cog railroad, the autoroad. To hiking, biking and atv trails. Water sports in the rivers and ponds. Exploring the area for moose. If your bored here it's because you want to be.

Very clean park. Playground area is excellent. Park roads are nice. Non premium pull thru sites are a bit narrow but reasonable room to live around the camper. The store is well stocked and there were many activities going on. The owner is about the nicest campground operator we have ever encountered. He is seen regularly and seems genuinely interested in making sure everything is alright with your stay. We camped at Twin Mountain / Mt. Washington KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice park, OK for big rigs. We stayed for a week to explore the area. Interior roads and sites are gravel. We had a Deluxe Patio site (19) that includes a furnished cement patio, cable tv and more space between sites. Other pull-thru sites are side by side and much closer together. Our 42' rig was a tight fit for the length of the site. Ample room for toad parking next to rig. Utilities worked well. Wi-Fi worked OK. Medium size Dog Park with nice grass. Large playground for kids. Lots of trees so no satellite TV, but the trees are lovely and starting to turn color. Pull-thru sites are close to highway and you get some traffic noise during the day. Very nice staff, able to answer my questions and helpful with interesting places to visit. We camped at Twin Mountain / Mt. Washington KOA in a Motorhome.

I expected cleaner grounds at a KOA. Others that we have stayed at are much better maintained. Staff in the office and the 2 gentlemen who were cleaning the pool one morning were friendly. Others who were driving around in the golf cart I barely got a smile out of. I am SO glad that our site got changed as we were originally given a pull-through site and those sites are TERRIBLY close together. Site options are electric only, electric and water, and full hook-ups. We had a 'full hook-up' site. But it didn't include cable. Cable was only available on some of the 'full hook-up' sites. I think those sites should be noted on their map. The bathrooms were VERY clean and decorated nicely. Lots of local information available in the laundry room which I thought was a nice touch. Little store was pleasant and well stocked. We camped at Twin Mountain / Mt. Washington KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Great campground. Near so many outdoor activities it is a great base camp. Yes, you can hear the traffic, especially truck traffic , on the highway but after a couple of hours it blends into the background. Would definitely not use that as a reason for not staying here again. Between the owner and the rest of the staff, you can feel nothing but welcomed here. Great sites for tent campers also, we shared our time with the Boy Scouts out of Pittsburgh, Pa and they way the campground is laid out, you never would have known they were there, They were not bad, do not mean to say that, just the campground is laid out extremely well for everything from big rigs thru tent camping. Very relaxing time. Motorhome and camper sites for pull thrus are next to each other but the use of trees and boulders give you a very private feel on each site. Had to unhook dingy but no big deal, going to do that anyway. We camped at Twin Mountain / Mt. Washington KOA in a Motorhome.
