We loved our time here! Beautiful small park but convenient to town and activities. Playground and showers could use an upgrade but everything was clean. We would definitely stay here again. - lg_77
Jul 2017 - $45.00
The host, could be the nicest we have ever encountered!!!!! Big spaces with lots of room. No cable but who needs it in this setting. WIFI only at the office but they have a room for you to do your work in. All hook ups worked great!! - Donny and Donna
Jun 2017 - $45.00
I love this campground!!! The owners are very friendly and work so hard to maintain their campground!! In addition to being the cleanest campground I've ever been to, the location was perfect for me. The Ashuelot River surrounds the campground for kayaking, canoeing and swimming. The adjacent forest is beautiful and it abuts the best rail trail that leads you right into Keene, NH. Great for walking, running, or biking! Overall it is just the best and I'm looking forward to my week stay in July!!! - CathyShaun

Quiet park great for tenters or hybrid campers. Our 32ft 5th was too big for most of the roads. The only bathrooms we saw was an outhouse and only one dumpster aat the entrance. - cbshea02
Oct 2012 - $34.00
The camper sites are wooded, but can be navigated with care. We had no trouble bringing in the 25' Outback and we are novices. Owners are friendly and accommodating; lake is beautiful in the fall and photographic opportunities abound. There are boat rentals and fishing, and swimming in the summer. Many sites have full hookups. The bathrooms with showers are at the camp store area, are clean and there is plenty of hot water. Our wooded site had full hookups, so nobody needed to use the outhouses that are sprinkled through the camping areas. They have stone fireplace rings at each site, and the camp permit dictates that fires be no more than knee height and be out before leaving them. It is a forested area, so care is required. We had a wonderful time. Site was rustic, clean and well supplied. Owners have created an excellent wooded camping experience. - SharonW.
Aug 2008 - $30.00
We were looking for a weekend get away that was not too far to travel for us and a relative. We found Swanzey Lake Camping area thru an internet search. I could not find to many reviews but the web site looked OK and the lake area was inviting. We arrived on Thursday afternoon and the first impression of the campground was poor. The entrance to the campground had boat trailers parked all over the place, a disabled vehicle next to an old shed. The first appearance was a campground that was not kept up. After checking in we were given directions to our site. The roads in the campground were very narrow and rough, other campers had a difficult time navigation the turns. When we found our site we got out of the vehicle too look around. The site was a spot in the woods that had been filled with sandy fill and each time it rained our site (along with others turned to brown mud and the fill started to wash away. Trying to keep the sand out of the RV was a constant chore. The quiet hours were from 10:00 to about 8:00 am but they were not really enforced. This campground was mostly seasonals. As we walked around the campground we could often smell sewage, we could not determine where the smell was coming from. The web site states that they have a rec hall with games and a pool table, all there was is a porch with some games and a pool table that was in a tight area so it was difficult to use it. The only thing that was nice and kept up at this campground was the lake area. - wahooo

Nothing to do. Was pretty rundown, overpriced and unsightly. Lots were very close and sunny. Site surface was dirt. Would not recommend it.
It has a gate that opens for anyone, but you need a code to get out? Most of the permanant trailers are run down covered in moss and mold. No cable tv unless you want cable tv to install it for $110.00. Police were in and out most nights. - Gypsy8
Aug 2016 - $45.00
Park is in bad shape, old run down abandoned trailers. No cable, only 30 amp electric. Overpriced in my opinion. - traveler88
Aug 2012 - $36.00
This is a great campground for seasonal camping. Lots of sites with improvements like porches, sheds and multiple golf carts. The moon rising up over the mountain reflected in the lake was beautiful. The showers needed updating -- they were pull chain to operate and the rubber mats could have benefited from a a bleaching. The camp owner was hot and cold; this might make some feel unwelcome. Looked like a good place to camp with a boat. - mrsgranett

Jul 2017 - $38.00
It didn't start well - we arrived at 4:00PM and our assigned site was still occupied. After we set up in a new site we asked about cable tv. It's satellite tv and it's a $50 cash deposit for the box, but the lady in the office waived it since I rarely carry cash anymore. The site was OK, not a pull-through since there was a big electrical box at the back end. Laundry was one washer and one dryer in an outside shed, we went to the town of Hinsdale instead. There is also a pool that we didn't use. This is mostly a seasonals campground with a few unshaded transient sites, and the seasonals act like they own it. During the week it was OK, but on Friday the weekend seasonals arrived with their ATV's and partying well after midnight. We actually turned our AC fan on just for some drowning background noise. Saturday was a repeat of Friday, maybe not as noisy but it ran just as late. We left at 9:00AM Sunday, but when I tried to drop off the satellite box there was no one in the office. A call to the "24 hour" number went to voicemail, so I just left the box inside the screen door. As a side, as we were packing up one of the full-time seasonals actually apologized for the noise and stated he was getting a bit tired of the weekenders also. - mbopp
Jul 2016 - $43.00
Passport America applies to some days. The wifi is free and excellent speed. There are plenty trees but several sites have satellite access. No railroad or interstate noise. Our pull through site wasn't level but it did have a hump so if you move back and forth you'll find a level spot. - JerryC58
Jun 2015 - $38.00
Approaching the campground there are many signs related to how we would need to behave to treat the locals well. Odd. No one in the office. We found our reserved site with no signs to help, then had to move to another site when mgr told us that wasn't ours now. Odd again but we settled. Lots are flat and wide. Pool is big and clean, playground old but maintained. Bathrooms, showers kept very clean. But boys from the community harass campers, run screaming through campground and purposely lock shower doors and then pound on occupied showers. They pounded so hard on my husband's door while he was showering that the door opened. These unruly children are a known issue, we learned when we reported this. We suffered from their actions yet we were supposed to be quiet for the sake of the locals. We will not return to be harassed again and cannot recommend this place as a result of these children which is really too bad. - khorne

Sep 2017 - $21.00
September 27, Kampfires Campground, Dummerston, VT Passport America $19, 39 sites, full hookups, amphitheater, basketball, volleyball, playground, dump station, dog area, horseshoes, pool, mini golf, Scoops ice cream shop, laundry, bathhouse, pets are charged extra, Wifi included, cable available We stopped here for our last night before we head home because it honored Passport America. Very reasonable and it had full hookups which we needed. I believe this was a private campground and recently changed owners. Easy off from I91 to the campground. Very peaceful on a very hot day in October. We were pleased with our checkin and the girl that was working there. Nice stay and we would stop here again if in the area. We had a back in site but pull-throughs were available. Good stop! - gsnakehill
Aug 2017 - $29.00
This is a small park in a very convenient location off of I-91 and close to Brattleboro. We would recommend it for passers by. There is a nice farm-stand just north of the campground with fresh produce. Also close by all necessary shopping. There seem to be new owners who would like the business to be profitable and this is a little too obvious. They ask for $5 for unlimited wi-fi, in theory unlimited streaming. However they don't allow more than two devices on the free wi-fi, so to connect more than two one needs to pay the $5/day. Not good internet anyway. Also they ask for $5 for late departure, even for one hour. These are not large amounts but they indicate a certain attitude that is not very generous, so we didn't feel like staying a minute longer than necessary. In fact had it not been for PA discount (4 nights max) this wouldn't have been good value. The price above reflects an average of 3 nights PA and one night full price. Even though it is a small place we couldn't locate the facilities easily. The laundry room has a code, given upon arrival, but it wasn't indicated on the map so we didn't bother. There are sites under nice trees and sites in full sun. We didn't think to ask and we got the full sun, unfortunately. All sites seemed to be pull-throughs. - AandWK

First time campers in the area. Friendly staff, large site but gravel and grass. Our site was nice and shady, beautiful pool. Site B10, 30 amp, no sewer. But honey wagon comes around every other day free if you need it. Very nice off leash dog area. Close to several covered bridges. - Corninggirl

Oct 2017 - $46.00
Clean, friendly park. Laundry room was clean. $2.00 to start laundry. Good location. Staff was great. I would give higher marks but, there are issues. The parking spots were too short & the trees needed to be trimmed back a bit. I had to back out of a pull thru due to the branches on the tree and the water pedestal in the site in front. Not all sites have sewer but they do offer 1 free honey bucket visit. 2nd visit is $10. Park charges $10 dollars per visitor. Really stinks if family stops over to get you. My sister came to pick us up for dinner. You have to pay for them just because they came to your site. First time I have encountered this. Save money, have them pick you up out front of the KOA. Admin note: Park website advises visitor rates vary from $4 to $12 depending on length of stay. - KodiTzu
Jul 2017 - $50.00
Easy to get to from I-91 and not to far from Battleboro. Main problem was the cable tv which provides a poor picture more often than a clear one. Well maintained campground and friendly owners/staff. Need to trim more trees for Big Rigs access. - Esse
Jun 2017 - $48.00
A gem, really a gem of a campground. Clean, quiet, grassy. A right sized campground. Sites amply sized. CG clean, facilities clean. Staff helpful and cheerful. Most sites pull thru. Firewood that's actually dry. Would we stay here again? Yes! You wish all CGs would be this great. - LPWms

Sep 2014 - $36.00
This was the first time we have stayed at Woodmore. The website gives you the idea that they are strict, and very rule oriented. While I understand there have to be rules, I don't care for very strict parks. Rather, we should all govern ourselves respectfully without having the management getting involved. That being said, we had no issues with this park at all! The staff was great, we met both of the owners (Husband & Wife, great folks). They were curious and friendly. They do adhere strictly to the site occupant limits, and we had to rent a second site to accommodate the one adult (5th adult) that we were over the limit by. The site we had was at the end of the "T" section. They seem to section off the seasonal from the traditional campers (good idea IMO). The sites varied greatly in terms of size. Some sites were quite small, but ours was a perfect size for our HTT. The amenities were all in great condition, and well maintained! The Bocci court was the best we've seen in 2 Summers, we played for hours!! They have paddle/row boats & cohoes for rent. We rented 3 boats and all went for a nice paddle around the lake, let the kiddos explore the tiny island right offshore (told them it was a treasure island, we couldn't wipe the smile off their faces!!). The bathrooms & showers were nice & clean. Showers are extra large & roomy. My wife had an issue with the hot water in the showers on the first morning. We spoke to the owners and they PROMPTLY resolved the issue. This was a great CG. Family oriented, friendly ownership & staff, great facilities & amenities. We will be back in 2015 for sure!! As a note: I only gave them an 8 for a couple of reasons. 1)The majority of the sites were quite small. When we return, it will be contingent on getting the same site we did this time. There were no other sites that appealed to us (too small, not enough separation etc.). 2)The firewood they sell was all pine. It was a nice service, and the price was good ($7 for a barrel of it, and they bring it right to your site). But it wasn't difficult to go through 3+ buckets a day for a decent fire (we like having nice fires). - BigNuge
Jun 2012 - $42.00
Came for a weekend to get away, but would not stay here again. On the plus side, might fit you if you have a lot kids and a smaller rig. On the negative, nothing is paved (roads or campsites) so whenever it rains the place is a mud pool. Sites are generally smaller and packed together with lots of trees. No Wi-Fi. Very noisy on Saturday as they had open air karaoke with the sound system so loud that my RV shook. - snolan
Jul 2011 - $42.00
Nice layout with good size sites. We stayed at 17 which was a pull through and plenty of room (Premium site) and level. Best sites I like are 16,17,18,19,20 as these are near the pool and activity. Owner came as we checked in to see if we needed anything or if we needed a hand; never ran into that before and it made a hit with us right away. Wi-fi is only around the office and not in the campground; otherwise, I would have given it a 10 rating. They clean everyday around pool and grounds. The owner is working the grounds and there if you need anything. We enjoyed it and will be going back Columbus Day weekend. Labor day was full, but I may call later again. Water pressure was normal, good cable, and kids were enjoying playground and pool. 3-4 PM is adult time and kids need to leave pool area. Easy in and easy out. Great bass fishing. People were very friendly and store had most of the things you need if you run out. Big stores are about 2 miles away. We will be going back a couple times a season as it's close to home. - harleyy87

Very small State Campground with "real" outhouses except for a recently built shower/bathroom near our site #15. The kids enjoyed the fresh air and the swim area which is also a day use facility. The lake is also good for fishing and there is a boat ramp. The staff was very friendly. My youngest saw a wild animal in a tree which ended up being a porcupine. The sites are small but are very well spaced apart. We usually camp in a travel trailer but borrowed my brother's pop-up for this trip. We plan on returning for a weekend as long as we can get close to the bathroom facility. - B. P. Donelan

This is mainly a seasonal site campground with a few transient sites available. We were the only transients in the campground during our stay. Office staff was very friendly. Not much in the way of Verizon cell or hot spot available. The bathrooms are clean but dated. The worst part for the bathhouse was either the long walk around to the bathhouse (up hill but not as steep) or the steep short cut up the hill (by the dump station). People we met were friendly. Laundry was expensive but the machines worked well. Campsite was on grass with a picnic table and fire pit. One must travel about one mile on a good gravel road and then climb a steep (but short) hill up to the campground. We probably would not stay here again. - roadking

The campground is very quiet; the sites are large. Most of the park is made up of seasonals. The owner could not have been any nicer. We would definitely stay here again! - Texas Safari

We have been traveling straight for 90 days and over 10,000 miles and have now stayed at lots of places. This, hands down, was the friendliest place we stayed. I asked for a pull-thru site, but the woman at the desk (I suspect the owner) put us in an end back-in site that she let us pull-thru. This backed (or fronted in our case) to a huge grass area that the playground was on the other side of. Site was all beautiful grass. The seasonal folks there were so friendly: chatting with us and asking me if I needed anything. In the office, they helped me find things to do in the area and gave my kids ice pops on the way out.
I would rate this a 9 1/2, only taking off because the bathrooms, though totally clean, were older and I opted not to shower there. I would 100% come back here if we are in the area again.
*** NOTE: Be sure to use their directions. The exit closest to them goes through a narrow 11' underpass.*** - 5th Wheel Family
Aug 2017 - $13.00
We enjoyed our stay here. It is in the country and very well cared for. Management was helpful and friendly. Being close to the end of August there were not very many "transients" so we felt like we almost had the park to ourselves. Nice and quiet. If in the area we would stay here again. They brought us a picnic table upon request very quickly...a plus for management and service. - Esse
Aug 2017 - $25.00
This is a nice campground conveniently located off of I-91. A bit too close, in fact. So close that the sound of the highway is constant. Otherwise we would have given them a 10. We were thankful for the access indications on their website, which avoided us a low bridge. We asked for a site with good internet only to find it broken down for the first three days of or stay. After that it was repaired and worked well. The campground's managers are camping there, too, and are available at all times and very helpful. The campground doesn'thave full hook- ups except by the highway, so we chose the W/E only option. No regrets, they have a bi-weekly sewer collection service at $4, very reasonable. The bathrooms and laundry are very nice, situated at the office's lower level. The office has a store and a lounge area. The whole campground is very well kept. Overall it is very good value. Grocery shopping is somewhat far but several small towns are around for restaurants. We camped for one week in a motorhome. - AandWK
