Great place except for freeway noise. All sites are P&E, most 30 amp. Lower level is a little quieter but still pretty noisy. Lots of grass, good dog walking. Good ATT service; no OTA TV, which surprised me. Marginal wifi. Very clean, well maintained. Small but usable laundry, decent showers. Nice folks, some seasonal sites. Follow website directions to avoid low bridge! - bobcovey

We have been traveling straight for 90 days and over 10,000 miles and have now stayed at lots of places. This, hands down, was the friendliest place we stayed. I asked for a pull-thru site, but the woman at the desk (I suspect the owner) put us in an end back-in site that she let us pull-thru. This backed (or fronted in our case) to a huge grass area that the playground was on the other side of. Site was all beautiful grass. The seasonal folks there were so friendly: chatting with us and asking me if I needed anything. In the office, they helped me find things to do in the area and gave my kids ice pops on the way out.
I would rate this a 9 1/2, only taking off because the bathrooms, though totally clean, were older and I opted not to shower there. I would 100% come back here if we are in the area again.
*** NOTE: Be sure to use their directions. The exit closest to them goes through a narrow 11' underpass.*** - 5th Wheel Family

We enjoyed our stay here. It is in the country and very well cared for. Management was helpful and friendly. Being close to the end of August there were not very many "transients" so we felt like we almost had the park to ourselves. Nice and quiet. If in the area we would stay here again. They brought us a picnic table upon request very quickly...a plus for management and service. - Esse
Sep 2007 - $30.00
The owners were friendly and the full timers nice to the weekenders. The campground was quiet and relaxing. They also own a beach about a mile away that you can bike too. Here are the drawbacks to the campground when we visited. The roads were very rough with low branches, at our site we had to use 75' of hose for the fresh water, the site was not level and a bit small. The owners (new) are working to make many improvement to the campground. I think that in a few years this will be a winner to visit on a regular basis. The owners might be able to contact the soil conservation office to help them with drainage problems. We will visit this campground again. - wahooo
Jun 2005 - $24.00
Stayed here on Father's Day weekend. Because it was raining they did a free movie night with popcorn in the rec room on Saturday. National Treasure - it was great! They put on an awesome breakfast spread on Sunday. Reasonable rates, good eats, good company. Very nice sites, most private and shaded. Seasonal campers are a friendly bunch. They patrol their campground which was great, made me feel like they were looking out for me. The kids enjoyed the game room, spent a fortune on pool! Check them out! - gallora
May 2005 - $24.00
Campground has new owner in May of 2005. My family stayed there for Memorial Day weekend. What a blast. Karoake, BBQ, Ice Cream Social, water slide for the kids. The owners are a married couple with kids, great family. Friendly and involved. Safe campground, they keep track of the campers. Seasonals are friendly and fun to hang out with. Previous reviewer stayed when it was owned by different people. New owners are flexible with number of units in sites. Give them a call! I'd recommend to anyone. They've changed their name to Idle Times Campground. - gallora

Park location is close to many points of interest. Very quiet and peaceful. The showers are hot with good pressure and stream. Walking trails on site as well as across the road. - Helga K
Aug 2017 - $27.00
Not a "destination" park with lots of planned activities but a beautiful quiet time in the woods. We stayed 3 weeks and enjoyed it very much. The nightly cost is based on the weekly rate. The family who own and run the park are very friendly, nice and interesting. Only cash or check for payment. Would return next time in VT. - JR from Dallas
Aug 2017 - $32.00
We stayed here for a week visiting relatives. Check in was a little dicey although friendly, the person had a little bit of a hard time making change and then after all was done us having to pay another $3 a day for A/C. A little tight getting around in the campground with our 41ft fifth wheel but doable. Hookups were good although water pressure was a little lacking and cable is split from a Dish satellite feed. Very quiet and dark amongst the trees. Not much for kids to do other than a small park area, no pool. Nice and quiet for a relaxing time. Definitely return. - Tundra2084

We had another good stay at Winhall Brook. No signal at all on our Verizon cell phone in the campground area. Campground office offers a WiFi hot spot which has a nice sitting area to use your devices. In addition noticed Londonderry, South Londonderry, Jamaica and other nearby towns are mostly a dead zone for Verizon. Helpful camp hosts. Campground has some hills and is a mix of wooded and open sites. Most W/E sites that we noticed were average or above in size and level. Campsites are plain dirt or grass pending on location to trees or open fields. Grounds are well maintained. Bathrooms and showers were clean and updated. As always found everyone very respectful. Careful of the bridge to the south side of campground. It is tough to cross for the RV's over 40'. Might want to call office ahead of time to be sure your RV is okay to cross. We enjoyed this campground and would certainly return or recommend this place to anyone. - mdcamping
Jul 2017 - $13.00
This is a large campground that consists of mostly primitive sites along the Winhall River, and has a loop of electric/water sites as well. These sites are popular even midweek in summer, make sure and reserve a site online to ensure a spot (or take a riverside primitive spot, as they are more scenic). Our site could not get satellite but others could...also no cell signal but the office has wifi. Our site was out of level but not all sites were as out of level as ours. Showers and bathrooms were clean with hot water. - Pinkflamingo71
Aug 2016 - $26.00
We again enjoyed our trip to Winhall Brook. Weather unfortunately did not cooperate where as we had rain almost our entire stay. At the very least campground did seem to have good drainage. Some changes for this year is all the campground roads are now paved. Campground has some hills and is a mix of wooded and open sites. Grounds are well maintained. Our hookups were in good working order. Barely a signal on our Verizon cell phone, just enough to get out a text. Campground office offers a WiFi hot spot which has a nice sitting area to use your devices. Helpful camp hosts. Campground has a river where you can go swimming, tubing or relaxing on the river's edge. There is also a abandoned rail road system that goes through the campground which is now scenic trails. Kayaking is also nearby. Spot on clean bathroom/showers. Found everyone very respectful. This year black bear are present, I saw one in the campground. We enjoyed this campground and would certainly return or recommend this place to anyone. - mdcamping

Our first time here and I had read about the great donuts and the great owners. Well, on check-in I was told donuts are only available on holidays, which was disappointing, and I felt the owners were not that nice about the fact I asked about them. Anyway, we headed to our site which was easy to get into but with the length of our trailer I could not get it level. The site was on a hill and I backed up as far as I could go and lowered the front jack as far as it would go and we were still a bit unlevel. Anyway, all this aside, the place grew on me. After set up and dinner I went back to the office to check the pool times as they are not posted and was told 9:00, which was great. We had the older pool to ourselves so to cool off as everyone else was at the beautiful newer pool. Took a nice walk the next day and it is a real nice place. WiFi was a little slow and you need a password which I did not get. I guess it is written on the book they give you but mine was blank. Anyhow, since we were in the mountains and thunder storms started at 2, we were "lucky" and the mountains held the storms overhead for over 10 hours. Parts of the campground did flood, we went out to dinner rather than standing in puddles to cook. We plan to camp here again and hope that it is as enjoyable as the good parts of this weekend. - Happy Camper X2
Aug 2016 - $35.00
Super friendly owners
Amazing pool and splash zone
Freshly made donuts on Saturday morning
Camp Store with DVD rentals
FHU with 50amp
Extremely clean bathrooms
Very nice seasonal campers
Seasonal Park and seasonals enjoyed watching us park our 45ft motorcoach on the first try! Everyone knows everyone so as a transient, you feel like an outsider.
Roads are dirt and it rained so super muddy
30 minutes from a town... so bring groceries if you are getting in late! - RVThatFamily
Jul 2015 - $39.00
If you want a nice private site then this campground is not for you. I like some privacy which is why only gave it a 5. What the park has going for it is nice host, new pool that the kids will love and the campers themselves were nice. Fresh donuts on Saturday morning are a plus just make sure you order them on Friday.
Will not be going back due to no privacy issue. - nh kayak
Jun 2012 - $12.00
Very small State Campground with "real" outhouses except for a recently built shower/bathroom near our site #15. The kids enjoyed the fresh air and the swim area which is also a day use facility. The lake is also good for fishing and there is a boat ramp. The staff was very friendly. My youngest saw a wild animal in a tree which ended up being a porcupine. The sites are small but are very well spaced apart. We usually camp in a travel trailer but borrowed my brother's pop-up for this trip. We plan on returning for a weekend as long as we can get close to the bathroom facility. - B. P. Donelan
