Traveling full-time in a 38-foot coach we stayed 2-nights in a site for big rigs. The good....If you desire to stay close to Cape May this would be a good option. The residents occupy all the sites upfront so this is a quiet park, and very well maintained. If you have a dog there's ample area to walk. After 2-nights the dust on our coach was minimal compared to many other parks. Big coaches need a gravel pad, so we give this RV Park a 5-star rating for the thick gravel pad. There was plenty of area next to the coach for sitting outside and setting up a BBQ. The bad...at the front of our site was a big electrical panel. Our cell phones didn't work at our site (probably due to the cursed electrical panel) however, if we walked a distance away, our phones worked fine. That was a definite inconvenience. There is no reason why they should have put us there with all the other open sites. Also, if you have satellite and your staying in a site located on the outside perimeter, you won't receive reception due to all the beautiful tall trees. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again, but we would definitely request a different site. We camped at Cape May KOA in a Motorhome.

Stayed in one of the new back in sites, found the staff friendly and helpful. Park is well kept and very clean. We will book here again. All hook ups (water, sewer and cable) were in excellent shape. We did not use the showers or bathrooms so I can`t comment on them. The dog park was large enough and clean. The office is located in the camp store, the store itself was clean and well stocked with the basics. Staff advised us that they were still bringing in product as it was still early in the season. The pool was not open yet but looked nice, there are at least two playgrounds. The roads are gravel once you go past the office but were in good shape. Our site was level side to side. We camped at Cape May KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We have stayed at several Cape May location and was a little concerned about Cape May KOA because of past reviews and how old some of the reviews were. This is now a Sun Communities / KOA property, which is a little confusing to me. Regardless, we had a very nice pull through site and all hook ups (water, sewer and cable) were in excellent order. Our interaction with staff was minimal (check-in). I did send an e-mail on Thursday for a Saturday arrival asking what site we were assigned (not requesting a site) and was told that we would be told upon arrival. I was truly surprised by this because the section where we ended up was pretty empty. While I was checking in, the customer service rep was on the phone taking a reservation and she told the caller that sites were assigned upon arrival. I should have asked whether you could request a site, but was in a hurry to get set up. We did not use bathroom or shower facilities but based on the other facilities we saw and the over all camp ground this place was very clean. In addition previous reviews stated that this was not for large RVs but we had no trouble with a 38' fifthwheel and there was a 40'or larger Newmar Mountain Aire that clearly had no issue navigating the campground. I would highly recommend this campground. We camped at Cape May KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Laurie is now Cape May KOA. An older cg, mainly built for small RVs and tenters, now, as a KOA, has built a entire new area for pull-thrus and back-ins for big rigs. Pretty good 50 AMP, not the best, but good. My cheapie plug in volt meter showed low when both roof a/c units were on (mid 90's) so I used propane for my water heater. Not a biggie. The new area sites are large and level. Nice pool, nice lake. Honey wagon is free and will pump your tanks whenever you want. Very friendly staff. Will return. We camped at Cape May KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

My wife and I stayed at the Lake Laurie, Cape May in a travel trailer. We were very disappointed. This is one of the worst campgrounds we have ever been to. We stayed in a new section that was clean and level. The bathrooms in the campground were clogged and dirty and no attempt was made to correct the issue. We walked into the office one evening and the manager was dealing with someone who was complaining about the bathrooms issues and since the office was closing soon, he could not fix it. He stated they would be cleaned the next day. The following day, after we shut down and drained out our toilet in our rig, we wanted to go the bathroom one last time before heading on a nearly 200 mile trip home. The bathrooms were still clogged. This was disgusting. The pool is small. We took a walk around the campground and there were tent sites that had garbage in them, (one had a rug that someone had used as a pad). Its June and a lot of sites still had leaves on them from last fall. There were areas in the park where there was standing water; perfect for mosquito breeding and is a health hazard. There were also no garbage bins or recycling bins in the campground. We wound up taking our garbage and recycling home with us. There was nowhere to park your rig when you check in. We wound up pulling off the side of the road next to the office and blocking some parked cars, but that was the only place where we could park. The WiFi was almost nonexistent. I walked almost directly under one of the WiFi hot spots and still had issues getting a signal. We will not be back. We camped at Cape May KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in a brand new section of the campground. Our site was level and well kept. At the time we were there, there were 3 of us in the whole section. We moved from our assigned site right next to another camper to a site further down, so that there was space around us. We liked it there, and found it very convenient to Cape May. We had an odd encounter. We arrived after the office closed and when we left the next morning, we were asked to sign a waiver for them to use photographed images of us. Really? We were leaving and no one on staff had been around all of our short stay, much less taken our picture. It seemed an unnecessary piece of bureaucracy. We camped at Cape May KOA in a Motorhome.

Lot # 364 is too small for a large RV. We have a 35ft class A. We did not have much room to park our car. Water hook-up is on wrong side. It took two hoses to hook-up. Lot is uneven and floods when it rains. Lot is dirt and not gravel. We camped at Cape May KOA in a Motorhome.

When asked if they sprayed for mosquitos they confirmed, however we were over run by them. I asked for a pull through location when I made reservations: confirmed. Received a back in, escort stated they really don't have any. Quiet time is 10 PM, however the neighbor partied till 12 with a very large bonfire, a yapping little dog and very loud adults. Trying to pull a 33' unit through the wood roads was a challenge, many tree: had war wounds, trees on close corners and over hanging into the road. You must check upper side clearance all of the time. Baths were clean, showers also, some new. The lake was nice. We camped at Cape May KOA in a Travel Trailer.

I camped here with my family in August, and despite the heat, had a great stay. The activities kept the kids entertained. The potholes were bad, but if you are familiar with the area you can attribute it to the quality of the soil in the pine barrens. Our site was nice and shaded which made a huge difference. I would come back. We camped at Cape May KOA in a Motorhome.

The other reviews are partially correct about this campground. The bathrooms were always clean, but they should explain that the showers are separate from the bathrooms. We had a nice quiet site. Security was a bit much. One lady told us very nastily, that we couldn't use our kayak or even take it off the car. Funny, we had used it the day before at the lake. We camped at Cape May KOA in a Tent Trailer.

This is for site 155: electric service was 20 amps for a RV site. I could not run my air conditioner and another appliance, voltage was as low as 105 volts. Water service: the handle was broken and water pressure was less than 20 pounds. I needed to fill my freshwater tank and used my house pump to take a shower. Site was dirty when we arrived. Piles of trash in the fire ring and on site. I contacted the office and they did clean it up. Sewer smells from staff pumping out holding tanks and dump station. Road drainage: water from road drained through our site. Location of dumpsters: need to drive through campground to dispose of trash. Dump station, fencing in the way of drive path, vehicle and camper in the road while dumping, grade is tilted away from dump station this will not allow the tanks to totally empty. The entry road is too narrow, especially by check-in. Golf carts: they enforce the 5MPH speed limit with cars, but not with the golf carts. Keep the golf carts on the golf course. Bathrooms: we only looked in and they were very filthy. The doors do not close, making the bathrooms full of bugs. We left a day early due to the sewer smell. Very high cost for a 20 Amp outlet and some low pressure water. We camped at Cape May KOA in a Motorhome.

Despite the negative reviews (that we found after booking this campground), we arrived and were shocked at all the people around the campground; it was great. Staff was friendly; new management was awesome. Bath houses and showers were maintained a minimum of 3-4 times daily, maybe more (spotless and clean). We were 4 rows from the lake, and it was very quiet. Pool was nice and clean as the lake was, too. If your kids are in the lake they should have a life vest on. In reply to prior review, we stayed for 9 days and added another day. We left there taking a seasonal site. Lots of things for the kids to do. Live band music and a lot of kids if you have kids. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice quiet clean and enjoyable stay. Close to everything. 5 stars all the way. We camped at Cape May KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Went on a $150 all day Friday-Sunday special so we wouldn't have to worry about 11am checkout on Sunday. Original site was flooded and swampy, guide told us to pick another where we did set up completely and woke to a knock on the door the following morning that we had to move. Given choice of sites to move to, drove around to look at the sites and all are basically tent sized sites w/ the exception of a few. Sewer sites are occupied by seasonals so don't even bother calling for a full hook-up site. Pool and lake areas were nice although my 7 year old who is an excellent swimmer had to wear a huge life jacket to go in the lake which made swimming completely unenjoyable for him. Bring bug spray. We decided to camp here despite the past reviews since it was cheap and we knew we would be in Wildwood for the Beach Blast soccer tournament and on the rides and beach for most of our stay. Very private sites but a chainsaw to open some up would do wonders to give a little more room to the site. If you have a slide-out you will have to choose between your slide out or your awning. Would camp again for the lower rates if we were planning to only be at the campground to eat and sleep. We camped at Cape May KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is best visited during the off-season. Most Jersey shore campgrounds have ridiculous overcrowding issues during summer months. This campground was OK for our use as we were out of the campground all day and did not use any of their facilities. Location is excellent to all Jersey shore points. We had a pull-through site that was nicely spaced. The problem I encountered is that the roads are barely wide enough to get my 24ft x 7.5ft wide hybrid trailer around turns. Do not attempt to bring ANYTHING bigger in here unless your staying in the field! We may come back again during the off season time. It does offer location, location. We camped at Cape May KOA in a Travel Trailer.

I booked a two week reservation, and left in less than 2 hours with a full refund. Their idea of full hookups was an electrical extension cord from another site strewn across tree branches to my site. I am not saying every site is like this, but that was what they gave me. I imagine the seasonal folks get the better sites. If not going seasonal, don't bother. We camped at Cape May KOA in a Motorhome.
