We used this park for a one night stopover so we did not see much. The site we had was at the front of the park and was very tight. The hookups were all okay and in the right place. Site was level and gravel. The worst were the roads getting in and out, very tight turns and lots of parked trucks and cars. Might stay again after the improvements are completed just to see if they get better. We camped at Philadelphia South KOA (formerly Timberlane Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

There aren't too many options to visit Philadelphia. This seemed like the best option. The new owners are investing in this older campground and have already installed about 10 new gravel sites and we observed another 10 or so under construction. Would recommend you request one of these sites. While there is no shade, they are plenty wide, you'll get satellite reception and there's even extra area to park your tow car adjacent to your RV. The older sites are very tight and tree covered. We stayed one night in site 4 and then moved to 102 which we loved. By next Spring I would imagine the new sites and the typical KOA amenities will all be in place and we'd stay here again. Cable was adequate (although not yet installed in the new sites), Wifi was good and AT&T service was excellent. We camped at Philadelphia South KOA (formerly Timberlane Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are limited options for diesel fuel & eating at this exit. Everyone has an opinion on Philly Cheesesteak. We tried several and enjoyed Tony Luca's the best. Don't try a cheesesteak without the Cheez Wiz. Makes a big difference!

Stayed 3 nights to visit Philly. Easy on-off from xpressway. Check-in was efficient and staff very friendly. Interior roads paved. Our site, #56 PT FHU, was in partial shade, level and comfortable space between coaches. A lot of const., expanding, adding new sites, roads kept clean. Very easy to use Metro train to go into Philly. All utilities worked well. Nice dog park with bags upfront. A lot of space for walks and fishing pond. Grocery store, Shoppers, within 2 miles. This RV park recently became a KOA Campground (formerly Timberlane Campground) and is undergoing some site renovations. As such, fewer sites were available for short-term stays. The rear portion of the park seems to be occupied by long-term residents. The roads and closely-spaced sites within the park are gravel with a wooden picnic table and a very small fire ring. Although we asked for a satellite-friendly site, and there were several available the entire length of our week-long stay, we were told by the young lady who checked us in that "none of our sites are satellite-friendly," and were given a tree-shaded site near the front of the park...thus no satellite. We used their cable, which could just be considered passable. Amenities at the park include a small convenience store within the registration office; laundry and restroom/shower facilities are also in the same complex, a nice pool area with spa (closed for the season), a pond with a water feature, and an enclosed dog park. While staying at the park, we visited Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Valley Forge, Trenton, Titusville (Washington Crossing State Park), and Washington Crossing (Washington Crossing Historical Park). We camped at Philadelphia South KOA (formerly Timberlane Campground) in a Motorhome.

We stayed for one week. Daily rate was $58 minus 10% with KOA rewards. Check-in was easy. However, the office person put us in a site we couldn't get into due to trees and turning radius. She should have known better. We called the office from the proposed site. The office person called the manager who ultimately moved us to one of the newly created sites. There was significant construction underway - enough that I feel they should have disclosed it ahead of time and offered discounts to their customers until the work is complete. We had full scale dump trucks, tractors and backhoes either passing by our rig or working nearby along with accompanying noise, clanging and beeping (except on Sunday). Hook-ups worked well. No wifi available at site. We obtained satisfactory Verizon cell and wifi signals. Although there are lots of trees, miraculously we were able to receive DirecTV sat signal in our site. The pool was covered but it looked like a nice area. The small lake is pretty. Campground is easy on/off the 265 yet is very quiet. It was quite full on the weekend so suggest advance reservations. If we returned to the area, we would evaluate all options first but would be willing to stay again. We camped at Philadelphia South KOA (formerly Timberlane Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Use the train to get into Philly. $6 per person round trip. Parking at the train station is free if arrive after 10am and all day Sat/Sun. It's easy and safe. The Eastern State Penitentiary is quite interesting. Longwood Gardens is spectacular. Give yourself the entire day there and don't miss the water fountain show. National Constitution Center is a bit overrated.

This is our 2nd stop at this park. It is convenient to rt 295. The park is clean and roads are good. Ther staff was friendly and helpful. I gave this park an average rating due to the cost. $54.00 is very expensive for an overnight stop. Wifi only works at the office. Water and electric worked OK. We stayed in a 45' bus with a tow. Campground is near 295 but far enough away from the noise. Nice place and will only get better. They are investing in more spots and fixing what they have.

If you are a class A or bus, disconnect your tow before going in. It is tight getting around some trees. We camped at Philadelphia South KOA (formerly Timberlane Campground) in a Motorhome.

This was a two night stop for us to see a ballgame in Philadelphia. Park is very convenient to drive into the city or you can also get there by train. Our site was very close but it looks like the new owners are adding some very nice sites with lots of room and well planned. Some of the turns are tight. Wi-fi is available at your site for a cost or free in the office/game room. If they upgrade the old sites after they finish with the new, this will be an outstanding campground. They staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We camped at Philadelphia South KOA (formerly Timberlane Campground) in a Motorhome.

This was a nice park. It's just recently converted to a KOA and there's work being done. We had a really nice shaded pull-thru site right at the front of the park. It was easy to access, level and the utilities worked well. They have a wonderful fenced grassy dog park that our dogs loved and was ver convenient. Convenient location to Philly also, maybe a 25 minute drive with traffic. It's in a quiet location so there's not any road noise to speak of. This new KOA is a pleasant place to stay to enjoy a woodsy environment or to tour the Philly area. Distance from the freeway is close enough to make access easy yet far enough to silence the noise. Wifi is unreliable: either too slow or nonexistent. Staff is helpful. Satellite reception will be a challenge because of the trees. We enjoyed our stay here while visiting the historic Philadelphia. Park is packed tight with units very close to one another. Level sites but muddy with any rain. Good cable ...awful internet. Pool was clean as were poolside furniture pieces. Very convenient for overnight heading north & south...would stay here again considering the other transient choices but felt like they were less than a good value. Truck plaza before getting back on 295 is about 1 mile away and has fuel, DunkinDonuts and McDonalds. Near that is Chinese Restaurant Dragon Nest which is a throwback to older time when you actually ate IN the restaurant and had a pot of tea. (yeah you can take out too!) Great fresh food and lots of dishes you don't see on most standard menus. Give the Jumbo Chile Shrimp a try if you like hot & spicy. Great service.

We booked a pull through for an overnight for our 43ft. MH and tow vehicle. There is no way we could have gotten into our site without unhooking our tow vehicle and then because if the trees that block your turn into the site, I ended up backing into our site. There are a LOT of full time residents here and lots of junk outside. First impression when you pull in is junky and dirty. We stayed in the back section, which seemed a little bit better. There is a nice pond and some grassy areas for walking the dogs and the dog park is big enough for the dogs to run and chase a ball or frisbee (if you know how to throw is to keep it in the fence) but it's a nice grassy dog park and our dogs enjoyed it. So, for the dog walking it rates high, but just be aware of the other issues. It just turned into a KOA, so maybe they are making some changes for the better now.....although lately, I'm not sure what is up with the KOAs that we have stayed at. They have all been pretty rough, so much so, we are now trying to avoid them if we can. Which is sad, you used to be able to count on the for some standards, but not so much anymore. We camped at Philadelphia South KOA (formerly Timberlane Campground) in a Motorhome.

Adequate facilities, rude staff. not expected from KOA; definitely expected from previous employees. Many, many full-time seasonal residents. funny as NJ says no full timers in rv parks. When you see trailers with extra large propane tanks and skirting, one wonders how cold the summers really are. yes, it is convenient to Philly. we've tried this place twice (2016 non-KOA; 2017 KOA). don't like rude staff. We have used this campground on numerous occasions, traveling up and down the east coast. Our stay was the first under koa, and generally speaking, we're not fans of corporate owners, preferring "mom and pop" campgrounds. The price for a site has soared, so much so, we will find other options. There are some cosmetic changes, all well and good, but certainly doesn't justify high rate. Our brief encounter with the manager was unpleasant, she is very rude, odd for a position of dealing with customers. The other staff was polite and helpful, thank goodness We camped at Philadelphia South KOA (formerly Timberlane Campground) in a Motorhome.

Typical campground with the usual amenities that had just been switched over to KOA, so it may be on the verge of having improvements. That being said, it was not as neat as it could have been (i.e. - we had debris in our firepit, an old door matt embedded into the dirt, and they did not pick up downed branches after a storm). It also has many long-term residents, although their sites were clean. Their Internet was fair, but you needed to pay for it. Sites are a bit tight as I believe it is an older campground (we could not extend out awning due to a tree) Our cable was also not functioning, so I call it in, 4 hours later, I asked about it, but they sent a young staff member to look at it as the "official" cable technician had left. He was of no help. I ended up connecting to my neighbor's cable since they used satellite anyway. The campground was pricey, but I figured that was due to its proximity to Philadelphia. We camped at Philadelphia South KOA (formerly Timberlane Campground) in a Motorhome.
