Stayed before the weekend, reservation website will show available sites but must reserve at least two nights in order to book plus Reserve America reservation fee. Weekend most sites were reserved, mixture of grass field and reservoir/lakeside sites. Main roads are paved, roads in campground are gravelly as are the campground parking sites. Sandy beach is a distance walk from campground which make the sites more private. Bathhouses are older and have individual toilet and separate shower units. Most sites are level and well spaced, low hanging tree branches make some campsite roads difficult to maneuver with bigger rigs. No hook-ups but good dump station and water connection by campground entrance. We camped at Spruce Run Recreation Area in a Motorhome.Undo

A beautiful park on the Spruce Run Reservoir. The condition of the restrooms were the main reason I could not rate the park as a 10. The facilities are quite worn and, although they were cleaned daily, weekend use was overwhelming and by Saturday night things were pretty grungy. There were 5 stalls and 3 showers (one of each wheelchair accessible)in each of the two bathroom buildings, but one of the buildings had only one shower in use, and one of the men's showers ran cold water only. Weekdays the campground was almost empty. It is primarily a popular weekend place for extended families who are tent-camping; definitely great for kids with the lake, a beach, boat rentals and playgrounds. Our spot was tight for a 32' Fifth-wheel due to overhanging trees. (There is lots of space between sites.)If you have a rig this large the following sites will accommodate you: 7, 8, 9, 16, 17, 21, 24, 33, 39, 61, 67, 70. Note: The park day-use area allows pets, but the campground does not. We camped at Spruce Run Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

Was there to fish. Perfect for that. We camped at Spruce Run Recreation Area in a Motorhome.Undo
Only stayed one night. A small state park located on a peninsula that juts out into a resevoir. The Park rangers were very helpful. There were no hookups. The park was absolutely beautiful. The rest rooms and showers were spotlessly clean. The grounds, beaches, sites and roads were all in excellent condition. When I opened the door in the morning watched a herd of deer walk by the camper. The lake looked great for fishing and canoeing, I just did not have time. Overall a complete positive experience. We camped at Spruce Run Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.Undo
