We called the ranger from the Interstate and were able to get space for our larger rig near the end of the day. We were warned that we would just be in a parking lot, basically. there is no potable water in the park, no hookups, just parked between lines, for space 1, in the parking lot, which we found unusual. The park was quiet at night, also we noticed the lake, which was hard to see from our location, was down in water level as well.

we used the dump station on the way out in the morning. Also, roads to the park are paved but fairly uneven asphalt. Don't go into the area needing fuel, as there are only two choices, and the main road has a huge concrete New Jersey barrier running up and down the highway, which necessitates doing huge and dangerous U-turns with a rig. We finally had to unhook, just to get into a place. We wouldn't go back to the park again, unless a real emergency for a place to stay. We listed the site satisfactory only because we have no problem dry camping and with the threat of rain, we thought it would be ok to park on pavement. We camped at Spruce Run Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Stayed before the weekend, reservation website will show available sites but must reserve at least two nights in order to book plus Reserve America reservation fee. Weekend most sites were reserved, mixture of grass field and reservoir/lakeside sites. Main roads are paved, roads in campground are gravelly as are the campground parking sites. Sandy beach is a distance walk from campground which make the sites more private. Bathhouses are older and have individual toilet and separate shower units. Most sites are level and well spaced, low hanging tree branches make some campsite roads difficult to maneuver with bigger rigs. No hook-ups but good dump station and water connection by campground entrance. We camped at Spruce Run Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

A beautiful park on the Spruce Run Reservoir. The condition of the restrooms were the main reason I could not rate the park as a 10. The facilities are quite worn and, although they were cleaned daily, weekend use was overwhelming and by Saturday night things were pretty grungy. There were 5 stalls and 3 showers (one of each wheelchair accessible)in each of the two bathroom buildings, but one of the buildings had only one shower in use, and one of the men's showers ran cold water only. Weekdays the campground was almost empty. It is primarily a popular weekend place for extended families who are tent-camping; definitely great for kids with the lake, a beach, boat rentals and playgrounds. Our spot was tight for a 32' Fifth-wheel due to overhanging trees. (There is lots of space between sites.)If you have a rig this large the following sites will accommodate you: 7, 8, 9, 16, 17, 21, 24, 33, 39, 61, 67, 70. Note: The park day-use area allows pets, but the campground does not. We camped at Spruce Run Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.
