Park is very sandy and uneven. Do not go after a rain storm. My problem is that during the night, my electricity went off. Went to the front office and called the emergency number five times with no answer. I then knocked on a campers door who was familiar with the park and he showed me a breaker box that had possible "tripped". It worked but where was the help from the front office. Spoke to the front office the next day and it was like no big deal to them. She says she was at the gym and didn't receive any calls. Stay away from this place. We camped at Pine Cone Resort in a Motorhome.

We only stayed here one night after picking up our travel trailer from the dealership. The site was not level and was muddy since it had been raining for about 24 hours prior to arrival. It was difficult to get a reservation here; we had to call multiple times before we could get someone to confirm. Due to the time of year, the water was turned off. We camped at Pine Cone Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is an older, heavily wooded RV Park a couple miles from town. The landscaping is hit or miss, with dirt and sand mix roadways throughout. The numerous trees made it very difficult to maneuver our 30' travel trailer into our cramped site; moreover, they held dripping water which continued to drip onto the trailer all night long. The site itself was not level, and would have required two Lego blocks if we had bothered (we were only staying one night.). Sewer connection on our unlevel site was so high as to virtually prevent draining. There is a small camp store with a few essentials. Staff was polite but not exactly warm. We had no issues with cable TV (70 channels), but WiFi was so slow (0.1 Mbps, unsecured) as to be all but useless. For the money, this park is highly overvalued. We camped at Pine Cone Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Just a note that I stayed here for a month, which is the reason for the low rate. The nightly rate is much higher - about double. If I had to pay the nightly rate, my score for Value would be much lower.

The bathrooms were not clean. There were only two women's showers for the whole campground and you had to walk through the changing area of one to get to the other. Definitely wear shoes in the shower.

I spent quite a bit of time doing a thorough cleaning of the site, including removal of broken glass.

The staff was generally helpful but I would not call them friendly.

There was decent separation between the sites. Many of the sites are nicely wooded, but not the one I was in. There's an area for big rigs which is open and grassy.

The roads and the sites in the campground are essentially sand. The roads are rutted and turn into rivers when it rains. You're constantly tracking sand/dirt into the RV.

The wifi is useless. The laundry is $3.25 for a wash, and $3.25 for a dry, which is way too high.

Overall, it wasn't an awful place, but it wasn't great, either. If I have a choice, I will not stay here again. We camped at Pine Cone Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are two strip shopping centers at the corner of Jackson Mills Road and Chandler Road. The ambiance isn't great, but Mia's Pizza had excellent food and service. Minit Stop Deli is a fantastic place with excellent wifi. Great coffee and breakfast sandwiches.

And, Rick Worth's "Central Jersey RV Service" is outstanding, if you need any repairs.

This was our 2nd visit here. We weren't crazy about it the first time and even less so this time. The entry road is dirt with lots of large holes. It would be in your best interest to obey the 5 mph signs. The interior roads are no better. The pool was very clean but showed a few signs of neglect. The store was also good and pretty well stocked. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The sites were small and very sandy, it was virtually impossible to keep sand out of the camper. The bathrooms and showers were clean but in need of updating. All in all it's not a bad place but I doubt if we'll be staying here again. We camped at Pine Cone Resort in a Travel Trailer.

My husband and I camped over 4th of July weekend. Sites are very narrow and make for very close neighbors. It was understood from the website that quiet time was from 10 pm until 9 am. Children were still outside screaming past 11 pm. Unacceptable. We also found campers to be disrespectful of others by taking shortcuts through others' campsites. The staff didn't provide any listing of rules, so we assume no one else was aware of them. We will not be returning. We camped at Pine Cone Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice campground with helpful hosts. Roads are narrow in places and some turns will be tight for big rigs. Sites are gravel, back in, and there are a lot of trees throughout the park. A nice store, but no book exchange. Our water filter was quite dirty after three days, so you may want to be sure to filter your water. Watch for the park entrance (340 Georgia Road), our GPS tried to take us to Love Lane which does not access the park. Watch carefully for the signs when coming from Jackson Mills Road; they are not easy to see and you can pass them up easily! We didn't use the restrooms or laundry. We camped at Pine Cone Resort in a Motorhome.

We used this park as our base to explore the area and NYC. You can take the commuter train from the Long Branch station into NYC Penn Station. Long Branch is about a little over an hour from the park.

My husband and I recently stayed at Pine Cone and had a great time! There was a beautiful well kept pool, spotless bathrooms, great water pressure, clean laundry facilities, well maintained grounds and we found the office staff to be quite engaging! We would definitely stay there again, the only thing to make it better would be a snack bar. We camped at Pine Cone Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is by no means a "resort". The roads are only dirt and sand....no pavement anywhere. The laundry facility was horrible, dirty, and unkempt. The washers and dryers cost $3.25 each to use but the machines would not accept my coins and there was no one around to help or any signage to explain the problem with their use. The cable TV was down at first and, when we asked about it, we were told to go and try it the next day. The manner in which we were told was very rude and unfriendly and no on from the office offered to come to our site to check out the problem. In fairness, I will say that our site was spacious and the water pressure was good. But for the price we paid per night we feel we should have been made to feel more satisfied. We will never stay here again nor will we recommend this park to other RVers. We camped at Pine Cone Resort in a Motorhome.

This place could be OK if the sites were not in sand. The roads are soft dirt. The dust is very bad. Swimming pool is real nice behind office. Laundry clean but very high with small machines. We will never come back. Will stay at the state park 2 miles away. High price and nothing to do. Also big dogs (bull dogs and Chows) are always running loose. This is far from a resort. Dirt/sand roads throughout. Mostly dirt/sand sites, heavily treed. Decent sized level sites. Lots of seasonal/long term folks. Several sites now used for overnight/short term visits are a mess since they used to be for long term use. Good Wifi and cable. Good location to visit Jersey shore, Six Flags Great Adventure, or to sight see in the area. Don't know the definition of "resort", but this is not it. Nice pool and play area for kids. Seems to be the best choice for this area. We camped at Pine Cone Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

It’s an OK place, but calling it a resort is a stretch. Water pressure is extremely low, roads and sites are muddy and rutted, and Wi-Fi is sporadic. The many permanent construction worker residents have turned sites into eyesores. It’s a good place to be close to Philadelphia and New York City. Each is about an hour away. Malls and other stores are close. We camped at Pine Cone Resort in a Motorhome.

Great location. Right off 195 and route 9 but you don't hear any highway noise. Secluded, treed, a little tight in some areas for big rigs as others have noted. We had site 19. It has issues with power and sewer smell. Staff moved us, and our new site was awesome. GREAT pool, tennis courts, good camp store, and excellent shopping nearby. NJ is awful for RV parks. Just not enough choice. This is a very nice park and the staff was very friendly. We stayed here for over a week. It will be our regular NJ HQ when we travel here to visit with the kids/grandkids.
