Very nice park. Rustic with sandy dirt roads, a little narrow but fine for our 33' mh. Sites were sandy, ours was shady, fire rings at each site, a little narrow but fine for 2 slide outs. Overall the campground is older and could use a little sprucing up, but had lots of activities for kids, two playgrounds, very nice clean pool, and a DJ on Sat. night. They had paddle boats for rent and fishing in the lake. Looked like several permanent sites. Staff was friendly. Pool was kept open another week because of hot weather. Visited family living in NJ, will definitely stay again. Close to Six Flags and the shore. We camped at Timberland Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed for the weekend with very young grand-kids. They didn't notice the very small size of the pull thru site nor the fact that it was overgrown. Seemed like MOST of the sites were seasonal/permanent with many in great disrepair. Speed limit of 5 mph is a fantasy, no way to go that fast in a MH because of the many potholes/craters. Pool seemed very nice although not used. Many sites were WELL decorated for Christmas in July which the grand-kids enjoyed. While the campground is kinda rundown, the campers/guests were EXTREMELY friendly. Campground was chosen due to proximity to my kids' house. We camped at Timberland Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

This CG is a bit on the old side. Dirt roads with ruts and uncut grass. There are some eye sore sites. We camped at Timberland Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a very rundown park. The roads are dirt roads with muddy ruts every couple of yards. Too many to avoid. The RV is on dirt. The grassy areas are all overgrown. There are some sites that are either permanent or semi permanent that someone has upgraded with pea gravel. Then there are other RVs that are trashy and an eyesore. It has great potential but needs lots and lots of work. Besides the horrible roads, the miniature golf has numerous holes that are unplayable because of broken items on the holes. The pool looks very nice, although it wasn't quite warm enough to use. I think it's a great place for little kids, as they have swings, slides, climbing equipment, bikes, etc. that appear to be in working order. The "beach" area is muddy dirt with goose poop all around. We camped at Timberland Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

We chose this park despite it's reviews because of it's location near our family. I feel the reviews do not reflect fairly on this park. The pluses for us are it's location (right near Six Flags), the friendliness of the staff, and the shaded sites. It has an "outdoorsy" feel. It is not an RV Park but a family campground in the traditional sense. The main road in (Reed Rd) has now been paved. The campground roads still need some work but if you drive slowly, they won't cause any problems. The owners seem to be working non-stop in upgrading the park. We weren't there on the weekend but it looks like they have a full schedule of activities. My only complaint is that some of the seasonal sites have too much clutter but it is early in the season and maybe they will be cleaned up as the season gets started. We camped at Timberland Lake Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground has easy pull through sites as well as some wooded sites where you feel like you are really camping and some that are between those types. The staff is very helpful and friendly. There is a playground, a nice pool when the weather warms up and a lake. It is also very close to Six Flags Great Adventure. We camped at Timberland Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Decide what type of site you want to ask for and then book early. Do you want to be close to everything? Do you want an easy pull through with less privacy or a wooded site?

Stopped to spend 4 nights at this campground originally due to its proximity to New York City via train. We stayed in spite of the negative reviews and were prepared for the worse. What a pleasant surprise this turned out to be. Valid complaints were stated about the roads into and in the campground being bumpy and narrow. This was accurate and much work could be done to improve these conditions. None of the conditions are severe enough to damage the trailer or tow vehicle however and once you are in and set up it is a very nice place to camp. As I said to the clerk in the office we are set up, the site is level, the water, electric and sewer all work and we get great satellite reception. In addition, the office personnel are super nice and very accommodating. What more could you expect and the Passport rate was honored in the busy season which is something many of the Passport Parks do not do. To top things off in addition to providing me with a great rate they gave me an additional $20.00 first time customer discount which was not anticipated. I would highly recommend this as a great place to camp if your plans take you to NY City or to Six Flags which is about 4 miles from the CG. Enjoy. The train station to NY Penn Station is about 21 miles from the CG. Rate includes Passport discount in addition to a first-time customer discount and is averaged for the 4 days. The site was sunny because this is what I requested in order to get good satellite coverage. We camped at Timberland Lake Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

I was hugely disappointed the minute I turned off Hawkins Rd onto Reed Rd. Pot holes galore. Muddy mess after a bad rain storm. Did not feel comfortable at all. Weekend party place. Lots of golf carts and constant back and forth traffic. Workers were nice...they helped me back in my rig and set up. I was supposed to stay 2 weeks but found a different park and moved after one week. Rules printed were not really adhered to or overlooked for long-term guests. We camped at Timberland Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This was a cute little, old, campground. A little hard to navigate with a big rig but doable. Our site was very pretty (large trees) but very un-level. Our front wheels where about 2-ft off the ground and that is with about a foot worth of blocks under the jacks! The roads also could use some matienance, they had a lot of pot holes that are hard on big rigs. I cannot say much about the amenities since we didn't didn't stay during the day. We choose this campground due to location. We drove into Philly one day (1-hr drive) and then into New York the next (1-hr drive). It was located in the middle of our 2 destinations. We camped at Timberland Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

The road going in was extremely narrow and unpaved. I don't know how two rigs of any large size could even pass each other at the same time. The woman at the office handed us a map that was useless. The sites are poorly marked and not defined, if it wasn't for a resident who noticed our distress, we would have never found it. They had golf carts there, and with such poorly defined sites someone should have escorted us. It was not level and had deep ruts all over. Although pet friendly, you aren't allowed to walk your pet and must keep them on your site. There was no lighting at all. Outside our site was the perfect example of "pitch black": You couldn't see your hand in front of your face, I'm not exaggerating. It rained and a stream was running down our site. I noticed that many people seemed to have units that were parked there and might come up for weekends, etc. The sites along the water where very picturesque, although the docks looked like they might cave in. I wouldn't visit this campground again. We camped at Timberland Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Location was handy but the road in and out was one lane. God forbid if you met another RV, it would require one to back up to one of the two wide spots on the quarter mIle road. No trees in our camping area. Not only the road into the camp but the roads all through the campground were horrible with massive holes, divots and wash outs. Very rough on my camper and vehicle. Too expensive for the site value. We camped at Timberland Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in this park 1 night. The campground was clean, if a little run-down. The campground spreads around a pretty little lake. It seemed like it was mostly seasonal campers, with a few sites set us aside for those of us passing through. We were there during October, and many of the campsites were really decorated for Halloween. This is a Passport America campground. We camped at Timberland Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Somewhat off the beaten path in the country in the woods only a few miles off the freeway and just down the road from Six Flags. The roadway through this older park is pretty rough and the sites are packed sand and not very level. They have a picnic table. They also have fire pits but fires were not allowed when we there due to the high fire danger. There a a lot of amenities; swimming pool, spa, miniture golf and a playground. They are on a small lake with fishing docks. This is an older park and could use some tender loving care. Even with the PA rate, it is still overpriced. This was an OK stay. Just one night. Huge pool. Bathroom clean. No laundry. Run down and seemed to be lots of full time people. Was fine for passing through. Overheard people asking to move because of snakes at their site. Not sure I'd stay there more than a night though. We camped at Timberland Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Park is out in the sticks. The road leading to the park, and the road within the park, were horrible. We creeped along at walking speed and the coach was just shaking. So many potholes we got to the park, saw that the internal road was just as bad, and turned around and left, went to another park. They could fill all these holes, but apparently just choose not to.

Inside the park, lots of old RV's, construction equipment. Employees were friendly. We obviously will not be back. We camped at Timberland Lake Campground in a Motorhome.
