1 Park near Jefferson Township, New Jersey
Jun 2015 - $18.00
We stayed in the RV campground as opposed to the tent site campground.
Heavily wooded area with lots of trails. Downside was lots of bugs (gypsy moth caterpillars and millipedes) up in the trees munching the leaves and dropping a LOT of stuff all over the site and RV etc.
Electric and water hookups only with a dump station. The sites all have asphalt driveways. Water hose reels are provided between sites so you can pull them about 60 feet (avg) over to your site.
About the water...
Bring bottled water with you! There is an issue here with the potable water. Abnormally high levels of nitrates and they have signs posted everywhere about not giving it to babies.
We had no problem with radio reception but there's no Wi-Fi.
The RV sites have no fire rings and no fires are allowed. This was a little disappointing but not a deal killer for us. There is a separate tent camping site that DOES have fire rings.
A black bear did wander pretty close to our site but ran away when our fearless Jack Russell terrier barked at it. Just the same, we were glad to be in a trailer and not a tent at night.
There are rangers that come around every hour or so.
Small issues aside, this is still a GREAT place to stay if you're in the area and need a budget-friendly and spacious site to stay in. - kalm_in_nj
Sep 2013 - $20.00
This heavily wooded park has paved interior roads and sites but can be difficult for big rigs. Many sites are short or not level, roads are narrow and trees crowd both roads and sites. Electric was good, water is awkwardly placed and requires long hoses at most sites. The park is very quiet and sites offer good privacy. AT&T phone and data service was good. - never settled

The campground has very shady sites as this is a wooded campground in Northern New Jersey. It is at 1,200 foot elevation in a mature hardwood forest with some nice size rocks and boulders everywhere. Nicely separated sites. Easy to back into. There is a grass field that kids can run around in, but this is really a quiet, wooded and private county park campground. On a hot 4th of July, six adults sat outside the camper all day in the shade and enjoyed the beautiful weather and trees. Nice relaxing environment, but also lots of trails through the woods. Lots of wildlife also. - eb145
