Overall Rating:

Traveling in a 43ft Class A with 4 slides and tow vehicle. Interior roads are tight for big rigs. The first turn inside the park has you making a 90 degree turn with a tree on each side of the turn and boundary markers along the asphalt making it difficult to thread through. The turns to the office and the exit have concrete posts at the corners making it tough to make those turns. We stayed along the fence line and to get to that area you will encounter an overhead tree branch that you cannot avoid (no damage) and two other trees to thread through. The fence line sites are the best for big rigs. We booked site 47 through Reserve America after a lengthy conversation with the office about the best spot for our size and satellite signal; however, upon arrival we were told that somehow that spot was double booked and we would have to be in site 35 with no other options. They never contacted us prior to arrival to tell us our booked site was not available; however, they said an email "should have" been sent. Site 35 had soft ground toward the front and we had to adjust a couple times to keep our jacks from sinking into the ground. It has a very large tree that blocks satellite, the sewer is all the way at the back and the water is on the passenger side shared with another site so we had to run our hose under the coach. Some may need a sewer and water hose extension. We had multiple conversations with the office about moving to another site and they told us that we could not move for 3 days because they were booked. For those 3 days our original booked site stayed vacant. Eventually we ended up in site 50 which was a little shorter but decent and the sites are wide so we could park the car next to the coach. Heavy rains while we were there and many sites were flooded. The pool was closed for the season, the arcade only open 2 hours a day and the tennis courts were laughable as the surface was rough chip sealed so not usable. We camped at Old Cedar Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Elephant Swamp trail runs beside the campground and is great for a bike ride, walk or run. CG also has a trail that goes to a nearby winery that has live music on Thursdays. It is a fairly long walk (15 minutes) and make sure to bring a flashlight if returning after dark as there are no lights or lighted signage back to the campground.

This is a rural park with many campers that stay year round. It is mostly for families and has plenty to keep kids busy. The one thing it's missing is a fenced in dog park. It has plenty of room for one though. We had a pull through that was extremely difficult to get in and out. Pictures show poles and trees were a problem. Tight roads thru the park. Signs all over the park telling you "no" for something. Other campers were very friendly. Otherwise a good central location to see Atlantic City and Philadelphia. There was an outside row for big rigs but no shade at all. Might stay here again but only viewing lot first. We camped at Old Cedar Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This place is off the beaten path but a great place to stay. The roads in are good. GPS may not bring up the last road in - Foote Lane - but there is a sign for the campground at the end of the road. Check in was fast and friendly. We were originally in Site 28 but we could not level our RV - there is a slope at the front end of the site. We moved to Site 40 and it was easier to level - still not perfect but better. This is the reason for the 9 star rating, otherwise it would be a 10. Sites are wider than normal. Site 40 is a pull through with full hook ups, no issues with any of them. It was plenty long enough for our 37-foot Class A, tow-dolly and parking the car. The park is well maintained and very quiet. There is a cow pasture next to the camp but there was no smell. They have a play ground, fishing pond and a pool, but there are no chairs or table at the pool. Laundry is an open room so it was pretty dusty but the machines were clean. Some of the dryers don't heat up very well. WiFi was just okay. Verizon signal was good. We stayed June 7 -14, 2018 and paid $29 a night. We camped at Old Cedar Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Family campground. Staff seemed a bit tense, don't know why. Interior roads were sandy dirt as were the sites. Lots of mature trees so many sites are shaded all day or much of the day. Pool looked good but we didn't use it. Lots of kids did. Park was quiet as it's in a very rural area. Men's room was out of toilet paper one of the 2 mornings we were there. Lots of activities for families at the park. 1 water spigot for every 2 sites. Ended up being 3 of us on the one we used and water pressure was not an issue. Many seasonal sites but not run down. We camped at Old Cedar Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Made reservation online, easy check in, bit of tight turns with trees and bollards for a big rig, parked in last row that had 50 amp, no trees which we like for satellite, pull through and easier parking. You can easily be parked among the trees and be well shaded. We had a fhu, but there is dump station. Cow pasture right behind us made it a lovely stay, the calves were so cute. We were parked on grass, there were picnic tables and a fire pit. The water post is shared, so one is close and one, you will need an extra hose. We were site 45 and switched to 46 for an easier hook up. Good area to walk the dog, garbage dumpsters located through out the park. There is a pool and miniature golf. Internet worked fine, and verizon signal was strong. 30 minute trip to Philadelphia. There is a little room to pull over and unhook the car before you get to your site. We camped at Old Cedar Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Not the closest campground to base Philadelphia tours from but arguably the best. Located in a primarily agricultural area about 30 miles south of Philadelphia, Old Cedar was off the beaten path but remarkably well equipped for our kind of stay. Some of the reviews complained about hostile management. We found the opposite. This is a family operation. The owner and his staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. That said, if you come with a bad attitude looking for trouble, you will find it because the facility is highly focused on delivering a very good experience to everyone and does not tolerate well anyone pushing the limits which are fine by me. The prices were very reasonable for 50 amp full hookup service. We were not close enough to the office to get their wireless signal but that was not a problem since we had a mobile hot spot. The sites are generous in size and the place is quiet at night. About 2/3 of the campers in this park are seasonal. Their sites are well maintained. This is one of the few places I have been to that I did not want to leave. In the future, Old Cedar will be my go-to place in this area. We camped at Old Cedar Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

It has been 3 years since I reviewed Old Cedar. They have added a road to make more pull-thrus and upgraded the electricity to 50 amp on about 30 sites. The two rows of sites closest to the cow pasture have clear access to satellite and a beautiful view of the cows. We will return. Rate reflects the monthly rate with a Senior discount. This campground looks great. There are lots of trees, but also sunny sites. We watched cows nursing their babies in the pasture, and you can buy farm-fresh eggs at the campground store. So why the low rating?

(1) The electricity fluctuated. It spikes up and down. First you'll have 120 volts. A few hours later it'll drop to less than 110. (2) The water pressure also fluctuates. You'll have good pressure, then in the middle of your shower it slows down. (3) Ants, lots of them, invading our RV. This problem probably could have been alleviated somewhat if they cut the grass more often. It was over my ankles. (4) The trash cans were overflowing. Apparently, it is picked up on Fridays. Which means that the trash generated by the many weekenders sits here for a full week. We camped at Old Cedar Campground in a Motorhome.

This campground was clean and quiet, and the campsites were fairly level. My only complaint was that, contrary to what I was told, you could not get a view of satellite from the 50 amp sites. I then moved to a 30 amp site and was given a refund for the price difference with no problem. I then had to deal with acorns dropping on my motorhome and car. I could have move again but decided to stay in that site. I would stay hear again but I would chose a 30 amp site with no overhead trees. We camped at Old Cedar Campground in a Motorhome.

We read a number of reviews and decided we'd chance this CG. We are very happy we did! This is a very nice quiet CG. We took a walk around Sunday morning and all we heard was the wind in the trees, a couple bull frogs by the ponds and the chirping of birds. No traffic, no trains!

The roads inside are gravel. The sites are mostly all grass, some are gravel, most all are pretty level and good sized. The swimming lake is not the place it may once have been, but the new pool has made that a moot point. The pool is a relatively new addition, just a couple years old. Electric was good, water pressure was good, there is no cable. In truth we did not miss cable, we had a handful of air channels but didn't bother with TV. WiFi is spotty as was Sprint phone. There are a couple sites that will allow two units to face each other, nice if you are traveling with another family or a friend. I will definitely return here. One of our reasons for choosing this CG was its proximity to Cowtown Rodeo, Berlin Farmer's Market and a number of other attractions. There is also a trail to allow you to walk over to the adjacent Winery.

Only a few 50 amp sites and they are back-ins. No unobstructed view for satellite at 50 amp sites. Many seasonals but kept up. Sites are dirt and not level. Beautiful new pool for the kids. Bathrooms and laundry were rustic and need updating. Pay for 3 weeks and get the 4th week free. Their monthly rate is for 28 days, not 30. Would return when in the area. Camped in a 35 foot RV. Level, dirt/sand with some grass pull-through shaded site. Easy access. Trees trimmed. Site 32 is close to pool with good Wi-Fi and antenna TV access. Laundry room was adequate with one open-to-the-outdoors side. Machines clean; cold water wash only; room itself borderline clean. Bath house/restroom old with rusty pipes and odor. Water flow for showers is chain operated and no knobs for temperature control. Did not use pool, but noticed it was cleaned every evening. Nice areas for walking around fields and through woodland. Ponds for fishing, swimming; volley ball and tennis courts; miniature golf; shuffle board. Quiet and dark at night after 11:00 p.m. Needs a light face-lift, but a nice place. We camped at Old Cedar Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is a good deal for 2 people but they charge $7 per day per person for additional people. The back-in grass sites are large but on a slight incline where we had to put blocks under our rear jacks. The entrance to the office is tight with turns. The 50A power is very good and water pressure was good most of the time. The Wi-Fi is so slow it's almost useless but our Verizon signal was strong. There is no cable but we were able to receive a few OTA channels. They had a Tex-Mex night while we were there and we enjoyed it. There is a pool but we didn't use it. We would stay here again. We can for two weeks and enjoyed every minute of it, quite in the evenings. When children were present they stayed close to home, rode bikes or played in the park. The pool was being redone and the out come was great. The staff was very nice and helpful. If we are ever in the neighborhood we'll be back. If you want a quite county atmosphere this is the place. There was no TV at this campground. Wasn't really a big deal because the weather wasn't rainy. Had it been, it wouldn't have been good. The lake really didn't look all that appealing. The fishing lake was bug infested and swamp-like. Friends who camped with us brought 3 children under 6. There was NOTHING much for them to do. The playground equipment was old metal that was scorching hot from the summer heat. There was a seasonal camper here who seemed a bit eccentric but was very nice. We were across from a cow pasture and the smell wasn't very good in July but, it is what it is. The camp store was small and we noticed some of the foods were out of date. The 9 hole mini-golf course was all squeezed together and old. They charge $5 rental for the putters, which I was told was non-refundable for the "maintenance" of the grounds. The grounds weren't well maintained. It was grassy but certainly not even the quality of someone's home. It was just mowed field grass. There were $5 fees for everything other sport, all of which were refundable, to insure they'd get the stuff back. Not unreasonable. Now for the positives. We were able to get 2 pull throughs so that we could go awning to awning with our friends, setting up a little area that was just for us. The sites were wide and pretty well shaded for as large as they were. There was grass and no sand, which was nice because it made for a cleaner trailer. There was a dog walk, which is important to me but the path where it was looked like a trailer graveyard. It was quite disheveled here. The people who worked here were really very friendly, though. Not to say we wouldn't return. The best time to camp here would be in the fall, with dogs and without children. The lake wouldn't be an issue and the rustic, wide open feel of the sites would be most enjoyable then. It's spacious and quiet. Bring DVD's just in case the weather is bad. For us, it was close to home, yet far enough away to be "away." We camped at Old Cedar Campground in a Travel Trailer.
