This is a great family owned and operated campground. The bathrooms are clean and there is a chill sitting area by the pond. The owners were very helpful and fair. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone. We camped at Edgington RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A little smaller Park then what we're used to staying at but one of the better. The owner was very friendly and helpful on questions about the surrounding area. Stayed four nights and found plenty to do in the vicinity. Attention to detail was apparent at this Park and you could see the owner took great pride in her campground. Half of the Park was long term parking the other half was pull through and bump out for short term visitors. Newer 50/30 amp electrical hookups in our area. Water and sewer hookups also. Large library with good WIFI. Exercise and Laundry facilities in separate building. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Edgington RV Park in a Motorhome.

The park wasn't very busy, so we were allowed to choose our spot. Some of the spots had grills available. The laundry was small but not crowded and only $1 per load (on the honor system -- very nice). Our only complaint would be the traffic noise, since it's adjacent to a highway. The owner was very nice, and gave us a refund when we had to change our plans and stay fewer days. Much appreciated! It's not a fancy place, but the price is right, the wifi worked very well, and it is convenient to downtown Alamogordo and an easy drive to White Sands National Monument. We camped at Edgington RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This was an overnight stay. The park wasn't very attractive once entering. Seemed to be all permanent residents. Once we got to the rear portion of the park all was fine. We used the electric only and it worked just fine. We would stay again if passing through. We camped at Edgington RV Park in a Motorhome.

We really wanted to like this park; the new owner was friendly, outgoing, and very helpful. But the deteriorating appearance, road noise, and trashy permanent resident area was just too much of negative for us to stay again. Sites are gravel and share the curbside area, with picnic table or trees. Our site's electrical was jury rigged with a wobbly 50A box linked to an extension cord. No cable, but good OTA selection and few obstacles to the satellites. We watched as a resident's dog wandered around and marked his territory on our tires and a cat used the site for a litter box. We can't recommend or stay here again. We camped at Edgington RV Park in a Motorhome.

MeanderMan: Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry you weren't satisfied with the grounds. We agree, the landscaping and buildings are in need of a facelift. That's why we're spending the next few months doing just that. We'll be digging, pruning, planting, and painting all winter. We welcome you to please drive through next time you're in the neighborhood to see the improvement. Until then, you can follow our before/after pictures and project updates on our Facebook page. Thanks again for your stay, and safe travels!

Basically a gravel parking lot with hookups. The water pressure was fine and we had good sewer and 50A service. No one was at the office when we arrived, we called and were told to pick a spot. Owner was super friendly. Getting in and out of this park was dicey with a bigger rig - we had a 38' and I would not recommend anything much larger, you have to weave through trees and permanent residents to exit. The absolute worst part was the road noise - even with the AC and earplugs, the drone of traffic, trains and sirens was constant. We will find a different park next time. We camped at Edgington RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear your stay was less than perfect. Although there is not much we can do about the highway, we are constantly working to improve amenities within the park. Sure, we're not a resort or destination campground, but we aim to be the best place to stop along the way. You can follow our improvements and changes on Facebook, and hopefully you'll swing by and give us another chance next time you are in town.

Arrived on a Saturday, no answer and response to voicemails. Ended up just picking a site and filing out the registration, paying with a check and leaving it at the office. Very low water pressure (<25 psi). Long, gravel sites in the back. Appears to be a work in progress, since most of the newer sites have new plantings and only one sewer connection for two adjacent sites. Despite the new grading and gravel, the site isn't all that level. My rear was up and the stairs were almost on the ground.

The bathroom/shower and laundry are all in one small building. Allows access for only one person. If you are self contained it's no issue. We camped at Edgington RV Park in a Motorhome.

Edgington RV Park, owner at Edgington RV Park responded to this review

Thank you for your review. You're right, our campground is definitely a work in progress. It's a labor of love, though, and we're very excited about all the fun surprises we will be adding to make Edgington more comfortable for our guests. (A new showerhouse is totally on that list!) You can "like" us on Facebook to follow our progress, and please swing by to see the improvements next time you visit New Mexico.

As noted, the PA discount makes this a very attractive park to utilize while in Alamogordo. The new owners/staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The sites are gravel and level and use the push/pull parking style. Excellent park for overnight or has a base camp for exploring. We camped at Edgington RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park is a work in progress. Owner/employees were very nice. They have 15 pull thru sites but some do not have sewer hook ups as you would have to share with neighbor site (work in process) There is a dump station. Easy to access sites. Power is good, water pressure good, sites are fairly level. Noise from hwy and some train noise. Concern is entering campground if you are going north. Not easy access to cross 2 lanes of traffic and pull over lane is not marked very well. Lots of storage trailers on site some are old and some long term residents. This a Passport America park. Verizon worked good. Over air TV is good. We camped at Edgington RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

The Passport America discount makes this park both affordable and attractive for a stay. Friendly manager/owner, level gravel sites, good hookups and reasonable amenities combine to make this our park of choice when staying in Alamogordo. Road noise can be noticable, and an occasional train can be heard, but overall nothing too distracting. Good Verizon cell/data and fair local TV. Easy access and convenient to town. We camped at Edgington RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots to see and do in the area. The Sacremento Mountains town of Ruidoso has casinos and shopping, Cloudcroft and Sunspot Observatory are worth seeing, the Space Museum in Alamogordo is interesting, and White Sands National Monument is a must-see.

Manager was great. The park is right on the main road out of Alamogordo. The trucks coming in from the North use the Engine brakes quite often. Would stop again if just passing through here again. We camped at Edgington RV Park in a Tent Trailer.

Passport America/Escapees discount park. Friendly owner who was very helpful. FHU sites, 50 amp. Long sites, but placed close together, which is the only reason that I gave it a nine. This is a small park with a nice book exchange and fishing pond. It is close to town. Good Verizon service. We would stay there again when passing through the area. We camped at Edgington RV Park in a Motorhome.

We needed a place to overnight for laundry facilities and dump site. This fit the bill perfectly. The host/owner was very friendly and helpful. The laundry room although clean, was not finished and had a few hanging wires. We were not bothered by road noise, but we were the furthest rig from the road. Our mobile AT&T WiFi and cell phones worked fine. There was a lovely little building with the words "Got Books?" on a sign outside, which was set aside for a book/magazine exchange. There was an exercise room and a TV room, but the equipment older. The rate we paid reflects Passport America/Escapees rate. He also gives discounts to veterans and senior citizens. We would camp here again if in the area. We camped at Edgington RV Park in a Motorhome.

The owners are friendly and very helpful. Sites are level, gravel, and plenty big for most rigs. The rate shown is for Passport America. Site fee includes first 20 kwh of electric usage. Usage above that is an extra. There is an even swap book exchange and clean laundry facilities. Passport rate is not limited to short stays. This is definitely a place we'll come back to when in the area. We camped at Edgington RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
