Park site was nice, with a table and fire pit. Had room between the sites. Pretty quiet, even right next to the highway. Pets are welcome one large pet run, divided in two, but had to pass through one to get to the other -(not always good to mix dogs) East access from the highway. Everything was gravel. This is our 2nd time here. We camped at Albuquerque Central KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Considering the convenient, urban, location of this campground, it is amazing. Sites are close, but pleasant enough and the grounds were well maintained and clean. A little pricey, but that seems to be the way things are going and considering the location, not too bad! We camped at Albuquerque Central KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate is monthly as we stayed for 3 months recovering from knee surgery. This is a very well run KOA just off I40 that is gated and secure. They escort you to your site and pick up trash whenever you put it out. We had a shady, level, paved, pull thru that allowed enough room to park the truck as well as a small car. All utilities worked well and, when the trees leafed out, the staff trimmed them so the satellite dish would work-excellent service. The pool was sparkling clean and very refreshing when the temps got hot.The staff is very friendly. Propane and a dump are available on site. We camped at Albuquerque Central KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Really short sites. The end of our RV was at the edge of the road. Easy off I40. We did not use hot tub and pool was still closed for the winter. They have a manned gate that closes at 7 pm. Fuel is just a few blocks away. We camped at Albuquerque Central KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Big rig friendly with level sites. Easy exit to I40 and to downtown. WiFi, showers, and laundry were good. Pool was closed for the season but the indoor hot tub was nice. Good dog park and the campground was easy to walk with the dog. We camped at Albuquerque Central KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This is an easy stop off of I40. We've stayed here a couple of times and will likely stay here again during our westward travels. We get a deluxe to accommodate our 5th wheel and both vehicles. There's a fire ring and picnic table at the site. The deluxe sites aren't overly spaciaous but suffice. Although the neighborhood is somewhat sketchy the KOA is clean and secure (they have a security guard at night). It's a busy KOA even during "off-season" so you may want to call ahead. We camped at Albuquerque Central KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a higher end KOA. It must be in a bad part of town because they have very strict security with constant patrols. lock gates at night, and strict attention paid to who is coming and going. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our site was a typical sort for a KOA with the other campers nearby and a small patch of coarse desert grass. The playground and pool (which was closed) looked nice and big. We enjoyed their very nice hot tub our first evening. The dog park area was just loose gravel and two narrow fenced lots. The dogs did not enjoy it. We walked them around the campsite instead. They placed all the dog owners together and we were surrounded by dogs, most very nice but one nasty threesome of very spoiled small yappy dogs two sites over barked incessantly, literally by the hour, day and night. That was very unpleasant to put up with. Not the fault of the KOA but the constantly roving security didn't seem to care. The washrooms and showers near our campsite were as luxurious as a fancy spa consisting of three individual rooms instead of male and female rooms with stalls so a family or couple can shower together. The laundromat was spacious and immaculate and a reasonable $2.25 for wash and $1.75 for dry. Propane was very cheap. The cost of this KOA was surprisingly high $50/night even with our KOA discount. It is in the city of Albuquerque itself, on the east side, and very close to the National Museum of Nuclear Science and Physics which is why we stopped there for two nights. For some reason our KOA accumulated points were valued at $20 at previous stops but when I inquired about using our points towards the $50 I was informed the same points were only worth $10 here. Very nice campground but I don't see what was worth 1.5X higher price compared to other KOAs we stayed at this trip except location in the city. We don't plan on going back. We camped at Albuquerque Central KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This has to be one of the nicest KOA campgrounds we've seen in our 25+ years of camping. This is the one which should set the bar for all the others. While it's just feet from I-40, a tall cement wall attenuates the highway sounds considerably. Staff were welcoming and smiling. The campground was exceptionally clean. TV and Internet were both very good. The only drawback is that it's under the airport flightpath but flights didn't appear to be too late into the evening. We camped at Albuquerque Central KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Great staff. Roads easy to get around. Site was level. Road noise not too bad. Laundry was very expensive $2.25 a load and $1.75 to dry. Wifi was better than most parks. Gates locked at night but guard there to let you in. I did not feel unsafe in the neighbourhood. We would stay there again. We camped at Albuquerque Central KOA in a Motorhome.

This park is convenient to I-40. Checkin was efficient and the staff were helpful in getting us in. The interior roads are wide enough and the pull through site that we used was plenty long for our 45-foot motorhome and car. The park is well maintained, neat and clean. Stayed one night here on our way back home. This is a nice park with paved, level sites and gravel yards. We were escorted to our site and the hosts were very friendly. Wifi was very slow. We had 2 bars LTE on ATT and 4 bars of 4G on Verizon. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Albuquerque Central KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Hung out here for a few days waiting for Harvey. Large park, been around for many years. Had a "premium" site. Concrete patio. Fair wifi. Excellent TV antenna reception but they do have cable. Large site next to a large old shade tree. Two fenced dog parks, though the larger one was divided in two. Nice touch.

As mentioned in other posts, night time guard, we felt very safe. Interstate noise can be heard when outside, but we ran both AC's and inside was quiet as 2 noisy AC units on High. Nice place to hang out while visiting Albuquerque. Laundry room was clean. Miniature golf course was well worn from usage.

Don't waste your money on a premium site, unless you really want to impress nobody. Next time, we'll get a regular site as this one was not worth the extra bucks. We camped at Albuquerque Central KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed here numerous times in the past several years. When we arrived it looked as if they had spruced it up a bit. Got to our site and they had done an overlay on the pads. New picknic tables and firepits. The now have security at the gate after 7:00PM Just a pleasant experience. We camped at Albuquerque Central KOA in a Motorhome.

Easy in and out from I-40. In what appears to be a pretty sketchy part of town, but completely fenced in and gate closed at night with guard. Site was clean and level. Cable worked well and wifi wasn't bad. Two dog parks that are both cross-fenced, so essentially four. Staff I spoke with was very friendly. Would stay there again, but not at that price. Like others have said, a little pricey for what you get. We camped at Albuquerque Central KOA in a Motorhome.
