Perfect stop if you're traveling on I-40. Easy park to get in and out of. Staff is very nice. Nice large spaces with level cement pads, fire ring, table, and long enough that there was no need to disconnect. Fenced dog area with grass. YAY! There is a shuttle that will pick you up at your space and take you to the casino. A couple restaurants in the casino that were just "OK". Totally worth the $ to stay here. We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Motorhome.

GREAT RV Park with lots of room between sites!!! Amenities include two dog parks, dog wash station, rally hall and barn, free shuttle rides to the casino and burger joint across the interstate. They have their own reverse osmosis plant for superior water. All the staff was accommodating, professional and friendly. Even though I've rated this RV resort with top ratings, I do not recommend the few back-in sites that have grass because their in-ground irrigation system is in need of repairs which left the grassy areas wet and muddy. We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This a nice new RV park with easy to navigate driveways, generous sites with concrete pads, picnic table and utilities that all work well but lack shade. The restrooms and shower are very clean but the men's shower is the size of a toilet stall. There is no cable however the OTA has a large number of channels. The WiFi is better than most. The park is about 20 miles outside Albuquerque. We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This place is brand new and a fabulous overnight stop on I-40; especially if you like smoky casinos. If you are not a casino fan don't let that dissuade you from stopping here. The RV park is separated from the casino by a large parking lot and a security gate; so it's easy to partake of the casino and it's restaurants/bars but it is also amazingly easy to ignore the casino and the truck stop filled with overnighting 18-wheelers. It sounds weird, but it works. The sites are all huge, level concrete pads. The restrooms/showers are pristine and the clubhouse is (by RV park standards) plush. No full timers; the max stay is 14 days. I would definitely stop here again and might consider it as a base for a longer stay in the Albuquerque area. It's an easy 15-20 minute drive into town. We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

They make it sound like you will get discounts on food and drink in the casino but there are strings attached and its really just a ploy to get you gambling. There's a Dairy Queen at the truck stop.

Overall Rating:

Very nice RV park. Large spacious sites with concrete pads. Interior roads are large and easy to manuvere . Pull throughs have red rock landscaping while most back-ins have grass. Trash is picked up daily at your site and if you want to go to the casino just call the shuttle. It picks you up at your site! Park is fenced and security is seen driving through the park numerous times daily. I have never experienced a casino pay out as well as this. Large jackpots were being paid out nightly. Slots were so much fun!! Steakhouse in the casino was good but the Buffet not so much. Will definitely be back!! We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you want to get your Mexican food craving satisfied, go to El Pinto in Albuquerque. Beautiful garden setting and fabulous chicken enchiladas! Visit historic downtown Albuquerque where they have interesting shops and take the time to travel out to Tinkertown to see one man's lifetime work of miniatures located in a beautiful mountain setting.

Very clean and accommodating resort. Nice lounge/game/tv room with books, games, shuffle board, pool, etc. We had a nice site with grass, picnic table and fire pit. Shuttle to and from resort and surrounding properties was very convenient. Breakfast at Main Street Restaurant was awesome! Laundry facilities were immaculate but the machines did not clean well. Absolutely pristine! A new, highly organized, carefully managed rv resort. Amenities galore. Trash pick-up at your rv each morning. Distractions include: we could not get park-provided Wi-Fi to work (but our Verizon did), congestion problems at check-in due to insufficient parking space and severe winds in the afternoon. The entire complex (casino, fuel stop, rv resort, hotel) is designed for just about anyone traveling through to feel comfortable spending the night. Spacious, beautifully manicured and modern--it doesn't get much better than this! We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Pay attention when entering the complex (exit #140), traffic circles can be confusing (we missed our turn after taking the proper exit and it cost us 30 minutes of Interstate travel time to get back). A large Camping World is located just minutes east of the park (exit #149).

This is a great place to spend a night or two. Adjacent to casino, restaurants, convenience store and fuel. About 20 miles west of downtown Albuquerque. This is a very new park with widely spaced, perfectly level, concrete paved sites. Some sites have a patch of grass surrounded by decorative gravel and small shrubs. Otherwise wide open; can get pretty windy. Free trash pickup and security patrols. If you have a second vehicle it can be a tight squeeze to park. They will not let you park on the gravel. This is a new park with excellent facilities and service. Recognize that as seniors traveling we don't look for the pools, playgrounds etc (although they do have a pool). This park is right behind the Route 66 Casino. For my money you can keep the casino, but it doesn't affect your stay. We actually got lucky as the Doobie Brothers were playing their 2500 seat venue and we got a show we weren't expecting for a pretty decent price. The campground is immaculate and spacious as western campgrounds go. Not cheap, but highly recommended. We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Pretend the Casino isn't there, unless they have a good act playing their venue. Albuquerque and Santa Fe are easy drives. Take the Turquoise Trail too, taking the branch over the Sandia Crest.

Newer park, with a lot of attention paid in the design to detail and aesthetics. On demand shuttle to go to the casino. BEST wifi we have seen to date. Paved roads, manicured gravel patio space, concrete level pads. Park limited to short term stays only (~ 1 week). We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Crazy that an RV park would be so nice and attached to a Casino but it is. Full hook ups and pull-though. Spacious sites with nice level pads. We were at the far end which which was great with the dogs. No cable and due to high winds we didn't set-up our satellite but were able to pull in near-by digital stations from Albuquerque. Great over night, quiet and easy in-out. We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

I had some business in Albuquerque and decided to make it an overnighter at the Route 66 RV resort. This is a fairly new park and all of the hook-up pedestals are in great shape and working order. The landscaping is immaculate as is the interior roads and campsites. The sites are spacious with a concrete pad. The only drawback is there are no trees for shade (but isn't that why awnings were invented?) The pool was closed for the season but it is nicely designed and inviting with the reddish rocks. They have a free 24-hour shuttle to the casino. I plan on coming back many times. We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Motorhome.
