This campground was a jewel to find. Up in hills in quiet space next to stream. Owners/managers were very polite. Nice fenced dog park with grass for our beagles. Our dogs enjoyed sitting outside with us in the evening and watching campers walk by. The stars were amazing from this height with no pollution. We would camp there again. We camped at Bonito Hollow RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Myself, my 2 siblings and our spouses camped at Bonito Hollow for 5 nights late Aug '18. We were happy they accommodated our request to be placed together. It took some doing, but they did it! We had 3 mh's...a 40' w/ toad, 25' w/toad and a 32' w/o toad. Each of us had no problem getting into our sites. Two of us faced each other and overlapped awnings, which was nice because the sun was bright and hot much of the time so that gave us a shady place to sit. We had FHU, picnic table, fire ring and toad parking. They came around each evening to sell firewood if you want. The dumpster was handy and the bathhouse was fairly close by. They guys used the shower in the bathhouse and enjoyed the long, hot shower, but I wasn't so lucky. I went in the women's one night to take a shower and there was no hot water. It could have been user error (faucet was opposite?) because the next night I got hot water. Bathrooms are old, but very clean. I was a bit leery of the shower curtain though. The employees were all friendly and helpful and they clearly take great care of the place. We had zero cell reception (AT&T and Verizon) in the cg, which is down in a valley. Satellite worked and wifi was excellent...best at any CG I've been to. Due to the great WiFi, we all set our phones to "WiFi calling" which allowed us to use our phones for calls/texts. Neat trick I learned right before this trip! The only "con" was how close the campsites are to each other...had it not been family, I'd have been a bit uncomfortable! Great places and well located to Riudoso, Smoky Bear Museum, hiking and lakes. I recommend Bonito Hollow if in Riudoso NM We camped at Bonito Hollow RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

LOVED this park and this area!!! As others have noted, the WiFi broadcasts from the bathhouse. If access is important ask for a very close-by site... which we originally reserved, but had to switch dates and wound up down the way out of reach. However, the bathhouse has a lovely big porch with log benches and a power outlet where we did our evenings' internet. Beware the washer and dryer are HOT no matter the setting! We camped at Bonito Hollow RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Warning to long Fifth wheel and TTs with low ground clearance! The entrance to the park has a steep asphalt hill that I dragged my tail end on when entering, then dragged my belly in front of my axles when pulling out, there was not a safe way to exit without dragging. I crushed my generator exhaust pipe and nearly tore it off. I have a 41 foot Momentum 376TH. As far as the RV park goes the customer service was excellent, the sites were large, the utilities worked great, no complaints. Just be careful if your rig has low ground clearance. We camped at Bonito Hollow RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Great little spot! First time at this location. Several RV spots with water/electric and a few with full hookups. Each spot comes with picnic table and fire pit. Dump site available behind bath house. Cute little store/office with some camping and and RV necessities. Camp hosts were friendly and made several rounds to make sure everything was good. Bathrooms were clean, showers could be a little bigger but otherwise nice facility. Laundry room also available. Will definitely be back! Best part of this campground was the staff. They were super friendly and helpful. They checked in on us several times to ask if we needed anything. Most of the sites were level and relatively easy to access. The site spacing was a little close in our area but certainly workable. Our site backed up to the creek which was nice. The bathrooms and showers were clean and well maintained. Wifi was good as long as you were close to the bathroom building. No AT&T cellular coverage and Verizon was very spotty. Overall we had a good experience and would consider staying here again. We camped at Bonito Hollow RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Saw lots of folks fishing in the Rio Bonito which runs through the campground, but didn't see anyone catching fish. For hiking I recommend the Big Bonito and Argentina trails at the end of FR 107 past the horse stables. This area was not as affected by the fire several years ago.

Very nice park nestled in the woods and hills near Ruidoso. A very picturesque stream runs along the edge of the property. The folks managing the park were friendly and helpful. There is a very small store onsite for essentials, however, major shopping and grocery stores are within 15 minutes of the park. We arrived near dark and were still led to our site. the sites are plenty large enough for big rigs. There are campsites intermixed with the RV sites. Many hiking trails are nearby that were varied and interesting. We camped at Bonito Hollow RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Love this family owned campground. It's always clean and the owners and park hosts are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Sites are spacious gravel, ranging from some shade to mostly shady exposure, featuring a fire ring and picnic table.

Although our site did not have sewer, they do have some FHU sites and there is also a dump station available. We stay here everytime we visit Ruidoso. Highly recommend. We camped at Bonito Hollow RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a small family owned campground setting beside Rio Bonito. A fire 4 years ago destroyed part of the campground and the surrounding hillsides are covered with dead trees. Big Rig accessibility is OK however, some of the pull through sites on the hill are bit of challenge. We had site #52. The site was gravel with adequate width however, like most of the sites, leveling is difficult for larger rigs. We had one tire off the ground and still needed another 3 inches to be level but we made it work. Wifi is great if you are parked near and to the front of the shower house. Unfortunately we were parked behind the shower house and got no usable signal. Cell service is non existent and a trip to the office is required to make a phone call. Owners and staff are very friendly. Several of the tent sites were on bare dirt and would be a muddy mess in the rain. If returning to the area, we would look to stay somewhere else. We camped at Bonito Hollow RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of day trip things to see and do in this area. White Sands, Valley of Fire, and the Three Rivers Petroglyph sites are worth seeing. Big Daddy's in Cloudcroft has some good food. Four Winds Cafe in Carrizozo has excellent Fried Chili Strips.

Beautiful setting, lovely views, gravel sites, plenty of trees, short walk to the stream loaded with trout. No playground but fun play area the kiddos liked. Quiet during the week, weekend was very noisy, crowded and quiet hours ignored (until 12:30 AM). Light road noise at night. Mostly friendly staff, willing to help. Asked about military discount (retired USMC) when checking in and was told "you have to be active duty, out there fighting". Some construction going on building cabins. Tips for other Campers:

Hall of Fame Burgers in Ruidoso, the model train store downstairs was a big hit with kiddos. Trout stream; fish with salmon eggs and a small hook. Pretty drive to Bonito Lake but everything is closed out there due to fire.

This park is located in a beautiful setting along the Bonito river. The sites and roads are gravel, most of the FHU/pull through sites require blocks + jacks for leveling, utilities are located at the front on some sites and many face each other, some so close that only one may put awnings out. W/E sites seem a better bet but are relatively short. Restrooms are clean but basically unfinished, showers have a very small changing area with no clothes hook or seat. Laundry room is a dark utility area between restrooms with only one washer and dryer (one oos) and very dirty. We managed to get satellite but cell service (Verizon) poor and their wifi in and out, minimal at best. The campground area is clean and well maintained and quite pleasant. A few dogs (some from the staff) wandering around off leash which made walking our dogs difficult at times. Unfortunately this seems to be one of the nicer campgrounds in the area, though did not visit any within the Ruidoso city area. If you decide to stay here strongly recommend you drive through and select a suitable campsite first. We camped at Bonito Hollow RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a active place. Lots of people and tent camping. No store really, no cell service unless you have Verizon or ATT. I have T-Mobile which is not useful in the Ruidoso area at all. The Wi-Fi was very spotty in my location but better in others. My direct TV worked but the person next to me had trees in the way. Don't be afraid of the bridge. I took a 30,000 lb RV with a 6,000 lb tow across it. It's narrow but only seems scary. We enjoyed the stay because of so much space between each RV We camped at Bonito Hollow RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Very beautiful setting, clean campsites, so relaxing! The Owners and Hosts extremely helpful. We go each year with 3 to 6 families for our special weekend and have a blast. My Husband and I just spent 3 1/2 days there this past weekend by ourselves and it was so very relaxing. We are already planning our next camping trip! On Holidays they have special things to do with the kids. If you're in the area you should stay here-it's worth it! We camped at Bonito Hollow RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We were really pleased with the looks and condition of the park. The sites have plenty of shade and are easy to enter. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We checked around several other parks in Ruidoso and could not find a better value. The park is recovering from a fire about 1 year ago and the owners are doing a very good job in rebuilding. You could not tell there was a fire. We would definitely return to the park. We camped at Bonito Hollow RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Our first RV adventure ever was a stay in the Bonito Hollow RV Park. We had a great time and will return. We had a stream-side space with shade and plenty of room. This is a large spread out campground with friendly people, lots of shade and a big park-like space for walking the dogs. Very nice staff, they helped us back in and delivered some firewood. WI-FI was spotty, but with the beautiful location we didn't miss it. There is no local TV reception or cable, but there is a nice trail along the creek so who cares!
