Overall Rating:

Not great, but not awful either. Big gravel parking lot with some trees. Really easy big rig access. Very quiet at night. Someone nearby has roosters and you can hear them during the day, but they must shut them up in the evening because I never hear them between dusk and dawn. Lots of permanent residents, some let their cats wander and a few times one got up under the rig and crawling around on top of the generator. Water pressure is very high, make sure you have a regulator. Sewer connection is cracked/broken PVC pipe, there is no cover for it, just a rock to place over it. No problems with water when temps went down to high teens at night, they have a heated bib and with my heated hose nothing froze. Lodging taxes are high - the rate was only $175/wk but there are over $22 in state and local taxes. Take the space long term (monthly rate) and you might avoid some of the short term lodging tax. Will definitely return. We camped at Ruins Road RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Aztec Ruins National Monument is literally only 3-4 minute walk and it's fascinating. Recommended! Safeway is only 0.4 miles away.

Thank you for reviewing our park! The cats you refer to do not belong to my full timers(who are very nice well respected individuals), they come from the neighborhood across the road from the park. I could trap them and turn them over to our local Animal Control office but I do not feel good about trapping my neighbors pets. I am sorry about the sewer connection but when you use the orange and white connectors to the sewer hose, they sometimes become stuck and instead of trying to take them out gently, people try to force them thus they break the PVC pipe around them. They are made to have the rigs sewer connection just dropped into them.

Overall Rating:

This is a nice simple little RV park we pulled into and stayed at for two nights so we could spend a day at the Aztec Ruins National Monument. Our host was friendly and helpful but they only take cash of US cheque. They do not accept cards. The place was neat and clean. There are mostly winter full time residents there. Everyone was pleasant. We felt safe. There is a section down by the river that looks like it could be tenting grounds. We enjoyed walking our dogs there. We did not see washrooms or showers. Maybe they are closed for the season, maybe there just wasn't any. Our site was big and wide and spacious. The campground is a three block walk from the Aztec Ruins National Monument. We could visit without unhitching. We camped at Ruins Road RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a clean, quiet park. Sites are long, wide, near-level gravel. Some sites have trees, and shade. Voltage is good. Sewer connections are unthreaded. The water is noticeably chlorinated. Roads are wide gravel in good condition with a few small potholes. WiFi is strong. I measured 303.5 kB/s down in early afternoon. By evening it's much slower and often unusable. Verizon LTE is also strong, but slow. Terrestrial broadcast TV: ABC CBS PBS. Owner is friendly and helpful. Credit cards are not accepted. Overall Rating:

This park is easy to get in and out of and easy to navigate within. Roads and sites are fine gravel/stone. Sites are level with variable length and width. No picnic tables. The utilities worked well, high water pressure at 90 psi, and were placed at mid-site. We had a very long and fairly wide site with some shade and clear satellite reception - one of the non-shared utilities sites. The Wifi was good at our site. We would stay here again if back in the area. Avoid busy Farmington by using Pinon Hills Blvd and LaPlata Hwy on the west side of town. We camped at Ruins Road RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Walked to Aztec NM and worked well for us to go to Chaco for the day (going early). Fuel at Conoco just a quarter mile to the west has truck lanes for easy big rig fill up (cannot enter going east due to median). Avoid busy Farmington by using Pinon Hills Blvd and LaPlata Hwy on the west side of town.

This park has NO amenities, no bathrooms, cable, laundry etc. But that's just fine with us......tired of paying for amenties that we don't use! Park has spacious gravel pull thru sites (has shared facilities but they don't assign every other site so lots of room.). We stayed 8 nights, relaxed and enjoyed it. Aztec Ruins site 1/2 mile down road. Safeway (older, small) grocery in town but Farmington, 6 miles, has it all. Sam's and Walmart. Aztec has a nice new laundromat-nicest I've seen. We would definitely stay again. We camped at Ruins Road RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

It is a basic park - but that is fine for us. We came to Aztec to see the Ruins and it is 3 blocks walk from the park. She gave us a nice site with big tree for shade. It was a long pull thru and level. And we had to change dates we were coming and all. Very nice people. We camped at Ruins Road RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Used this park as a one-night stopover going into Colorado from southern New Mexico. The owners live on site and were very helpful and friendly. The sites are long and level with plenty of space for us to leave our towed vehicle hooked up. If you are self-contained and looking for a basic park, this is an excellent and cost effective choice. The owners are collectors of antique cars and took my husband for a ride in one. We will be returning. We camped at Ruins Road RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

We've stayed here on three occasions. Each has been enjoyable. While the park has many permanent and extended stay residents, it is very quite. Owners are friendly and helpful. No bathrooms/showers or laundry so you must be self-contained. No cable TV but the three main networks are available OTA. Satellite reception is good. WiFi is excellent at our site, 22. We will stay here again. We camped at Ruins Road RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a no frills park, but it suited our needs just fine. There are no amenities (showers, restrooms, laundry, pool) but the location in the small town of Aztec, about a half mile from the Aztec Ruins National Monument, was perfect. The sites are spacious and there are lots of trees and grass. The parking pads are on gravel and mostly level. About half the park has permanent RVs with well maintained spaces. Aztec is about 10 miles from Farmington, NM, a much larger community with all the big city amenities one would need. We only paid $20 a night for a space. Even though we stayed for a week, the price was still $20 a night. We aren't complaining. We have paid more than that for a state park campsite with no water or sewer. There was no picnic table or fire pit, but again, we didn't need them. Wish we would have had a site with one of the huge trees, but we were on the end of a row and had full sun in the mid-to-late afternoon, which chased us inside. Until that time, we had enough shade from the trailer and awnings to be able to be outside. The wifi was excellent all week, although it would get sluggish in the early evening when people were getting home from work. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area. We camped at Ruins Road RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

As a dining suggestion, you might want to try the 3 Rivers Tap House (brewery) in historic downtown Farmington. Located in the old drug store, the eclectic decor pays homage to old Farmington with great signs, old catalog pages and stuff from the drug store. The beer was good and cold, the food tasty and the prices reasonable.

This is a small park with no amenities. There are no restrooms, showers, or laundry. Mostly permanent residents with clean and tidy sites. The park is quiet, away from any traffic noise. Very friendly staff. The office is also a residence, so make sure you knock on the door. We had a reservation and the check in was fast and efficient. They do not accept credit cards. I wrote a check. Easy to maneuver roads and sites for a big rig. Roads and sites are gravel. No picnic table and the sewer cover was missing at my site. Some sites have shade, but most are in full sun. Only a couple of blocks from Aztec Ruins. Excellent wifi. Nice dog walking area near the office. It's a basic park, but good value. I would stay here again. We camped at Ruins Road RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.
