Stayed here 1 night headed home. Off the main drag. Nice folks, everything was very clean and quiet. Great rest rooms and showers. Nice laundry room too. Lots of gravel but thats they way it is here in NM. I might suggest Rubios Mexican Rest. up the road about 5 miles in Aztec, NM for excellent food. I would stay here again. We camped at Moore's RV Park (formerly Desert Rose Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

This is a pretty standard RV Park. Access was good, interior roads were fine and our site was more or less level. We arrived on a Tuesday around 4pm and the office was closed. We had already paid in advance so we drove around, picked a site, swam in the pool, caught up on laundry, bbq'd some chicken and enjoyed the night sky. We never saw a manager, park host or employee. The park was only about 25% full. We left the next morning and still no one was in the office. Some reviews have complained about train noise or early morning vehicles leaving the park. We were not bothered by either. This park is a nice stop and was pretty clean with decent landscaping. We camped at Moore's RV Park (formerly Desert Rose Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

This park looks like it has changed hands. Signs still say Desert Rose, but the new name seems to be Moore's RV Park. Wifi worked well but be aware that they no longer have cable and only 6 OTA channels. The price was high for this park. Documentation still has free cable on it. Many full time campers living here. Sites are okay in size, but we arrived during rain and the gravel is mostly mud. We would not stay again. We camped at Moore's RV Park (formerly Desert Rose Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Our stay was for 11 nights from Sept. 15-26, 2016. The park was well taken care of. There are many full timers staying here and working in the area and were not a distraction. However, the place was an excellent place to stay to visit many of the local area historical places. Chaco Canyon and the like. We camped at Moore's RV Park (formerly Desert Rose Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

We asked for a satellite-friendly site and the two young ladies in the office didn't know which sites would suit, but they were helpful in offering us alternative sites. It seemed strange to me that I had to sign a form that I wouldn't be using illegal drugs - I had never encountered that elsewhere. Quiet time is 9pm to 7 am. However, we were woken at 5.45 am by voices and large pickup trucks being started up. By 6.15 am sixteen trucks had driven past us. We realized that many of the people staying there are working in the local oil and gas industry. We had planned on staying for three nights while visiting Chaco Canyon, but we left after two. We camped at Moore's RV Park (formerly Desert Rose Resort) in a Motorhome.

Price reflects two night stay in a straight pull thru 30 amp electric, water and sewer, cable TV and internet. The utilities were great although the electric was 110 to 114 volts. Park has gravel interior roads and dirt/gravel sites. Lots of barking dogs. Allows campfires. Someone was playing their music so loud we had to put in ear plugs to read. Wife called the office after hours about the music and the message said the number was temporary unavailable. With very tight corners and lots of low hanging branches you couldn't call this park big rig friendly for our 60 foot combo. Not easy in and out. Of course putting an RV on an interior road and calling it a site wasn't good because it was the road to the exit. This blocked our exit. We were told to go around the RV but that wasn't possible with tree branches of three inches in diameter or more hanging out over the road. So we had to back out of this so called "pull-thru" site then cut through an empty site to find a way out. We camped at Moore's RV Park (formerly Desert Rose Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed 3 nights passing through the area to visit the nearby National Park Service sites. The park is located in what appears to be a residential area requiring travel along a narrow 2 lane paved road that has seen better days. The park has the appearance of being a former KOA. It was very primitive showing not much care or attention to the appearance. The park was very disappointing but there isn't much to choose from in the area. The entrance to the registration parking and interior roads are narrow with tight turns. The interior roads and site parking pads are compacted gravel. There are a mixture of pull throughs and back in sites. Some of the P/T's were not easy to get into due the angle from the roads. P/T's were not long enough to remain connected to the toad but were wide enough to park 2 vehicles abreast if needed. As the park was built on sloping field, it showed the park didn't completely understand the simple concept of the importance of a flat, level site as some of the sites had a slight 2 directional pitch potentially creating a leveling problem. In the first site we were assigned (#39), the pitch was so great we couldn't get level. Had to move to a different site. Later, saw someone else struggling to get level in #39. Distance establishes privacy between the sites but the sites were generally close. They have full hook ups - water, electricity (50/30 AMP), & sewer. The utility connections were generally at the middle of the site. The sewer connect was slightly elevated but it wasn't too difficult to establish a downhill flow. There was an outside table and fire pits at the sites but the environment didn't encourage sitting outside. It appeared most of the residents were long term. While the "resort" rules required that "all of the occupied sites appear neat and clean" it was clearly obvious that "neat and clean" was subject to interpretation. We camped at Moore's RV Park (formerly Desert Rose Resort) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Pool & hot tub were closed. For being in a hazardous/severe weather area, there was no underground storm shelter. None of the structures in the park were identified as a severe weather shelter. Would say that this park is NOT "Big Rig" friendly after maneuvering a 41' diesel pushing Class A through it. Chose to disconnect the toad to get into and out of the park. Waited until getting out of the park to connect the toad. We would not stay here again.

This RV park is a great place to stay and visit! The staff up front is friendly and helpful, the area is clean and accommodating and I personally appreciate the playground area and Paw-Paw Park for pets since I have both. The pool is nice sized and private for residents only and the spa is newly remodeled. The scenery is gorgeous with all the roses and hummingbirds and it is a more upscale park versus some of the others in the area. They also provide WiFi and cable access that is already included int he price which is nice. I definitely recommend this park to others who are looking for something quiet and peaceful to stay. This campground was a previous KOA. Campsites are large, level, gravel, and we had 2 good size trees. Easy to get into site and plenty of space in the campground. While the sites are gravel, the outside edge had pine trees and grass and a huge cork tree. There is a pool, looked nice but we didn't go. Very good cable, Wi-Fi was excellent- we had no trouble connecting and speed was great. This is the closest campground to Chaco canyon-60 miles. We camped at Moore's RV Park (formerly Desert Rose Resort) in a Motorhome.

Chaco canyon 60 miles away. Make sure you arrive in time for the 10 AM ranger hike of Pueblo Bonito. From the campground to the visitors center was 1 1/2 hours. Call the park (they answer at 8 AM) to check road conditions.

Arrived after hours. Had to walk a dark campground to find an available site. Since it's still cold, the water spigots have heat tape wrapped around them and some of the outlets are being used. The first site we pulled into, the 30-amp plug was being used (our old motorhome only has 30-amp). On the 2nd site, the electric was off, but the 3rd site suited our needs. I didn't see much of the park, but it looked like there many full-time residents. We camped at Moore's RV Park (formerly Desert Rose Resort) in a Motorhome.

First off, the Resort claims to be at 4 corners, which is about 80 miles, one way to get to. Then you have use of the word "Resort". This park is in Bloomfield NM, which is a large player in NW New Mexico's "energy zone"., having multiple refining plants. Energy workers travel to jobs and this "Resort" is about 40% long term residents and the companion "landscaping" they provide. Don't get me wrong, they are good folks and the camp feels safe. The marketing department just needs to change the name to Desert Rose Campground. We stayed three nights to see surrounding ancient culture attractions. Happy to have dry weather as it is obvious the camp turns into mud when rains come. Clothes washers are clean enough for comfort but are old. One is avocado green, hmm, reminds of early marriage appliances. All said, this area is sparse in RV parks and this one is about as good a choice as any near. We camped at Moore's RV Park (formerly Desert Rose Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

We had a pleasant surprise when pulling into the park. It is neat looking, the spaces are wide and shady. So shady in space #61 we couldn't pull in as the trees needed trimming. We did find a nice spot and enjoyed our stay. I would give this park a 9 if they would trim the trees and cut a few weeds around the permanent resident's trailers. We enjoyed the pool and the hot tub. Would stay here again. Stayed in a 5th wheel. We camped at Moore's RV Park (formerly Desert Rose Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an old KOA. Rate for a 50amp is $520 per month which included electric. Wifi is available and the majority of the time worked ok. We were here for 8 months for a temp. job assignment. Saw 4 different sets of managers and staff. Sites are in desperate need of rock. Not level. There was a picnic table and standalone grill in our site but it was extremely close to our motorhome and it couldn't be moved. Large tree stump right in the middle of the site which was in the way. Run down trailers and modular homes that are being rented out. Cabins have long term rentals that need to clean up the outside. Tent area is overrun with grass and goatheads. Washers and dryers didn't work most of the time. Thankfully there is a very nice clean laundry right down the road. Bathrooms may or may not be clean. Works with minimal staff. Office opens at 8 and closes at 5 the majority of the time. The pool and hot tub are not operational. There is a small area for kids with a swing set. The main office building is in dire need of repair. There is a nice fenced dog park which could use a little repair, i.e. holes in the fence. Old dead trees that have branches break off with a good wind. The water pressure was good but the electricity did go off just about every day. During a storm it did go off at night and guests didn't know what to do as there was no emergency contact number or a member of staff on site.

4 years ago this was a nice park with different owners. The present owner is out of state and has no ideal what goes on and doesn't seem to want to supply funds to bring this back up to a nice park to stay at as we saw now improvements in the time we were there.

We would not recommend this park nor do we plan on staying here again unless there have been significant improvements. Would not be able to overnight without unhooking your toad. We camped at Moore's RV Park (formerly Desert Rose Resort) in a Motorhome.

We have been here since Nov. 2014 due to the hubbys job. We had stayed here before and this is the reason we chose this park. The rate listed is based on the monthly rate and includes electricity.

The manager and staff are very helpful, courteous and are always working on things around the park. The restrooms were very clean during various times during the day. We did not use the laundry. The office area was always clean and there were gifts, small selection of groceries, etc.

We will probably not return unless they bring in some gravel. When it rains it is nothing but a mud hole and there are large holes and ruts throughout the park. We camped at Moore's RV Park (formerly Desert Rose Resort) in a Motorhome.
