We booked a four night stay in our favorite spot for the Labor Day weekend. This was booked in February and we got one of the few spots left. It is a quite park. Owners are friendly and helpful. The have rules about noise and quite time...this makes it a very enjoyable park. We enjoy sitting by the creek/river. Far enough out of Ruidoso to avoid the traffic but close enough to run in for shopping, casinos or out to eat. This is our 3rd stay in the park. We will be back. We camped at Along the River Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Too busy Labor Day to go to Ruidoso or the horse races. We normally go to the horse races (Memorial -> Labor Day only), casinos, out to eat, shopping all in Ruidoso. Head up to Bonita Lake area (closed) for hiking and day camping. We normally go in the Spring, Summer, Fall and avoid Winter due to snow.

Smaller park with both RV and tent sites. Also have a couple of cabins that are very nice. River is shallow and clear...more akin to a creek than a river. The WiFi near the office works fine. We did have Verizon cell service with our cell phone booster.

The owners really take pride in there park and want to make sure you have a great experience. They do enforce the rules but they are pretty reasonable. We camped at Along the River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We had a terrific time at along the river. Great location to see the Billy the Kid scenic biway and Ruidoso. The owners, are RVers themselves and really know how to make you feel welcome. Their support in the park and recommendations on restaurants and attractions were spot on.

The park has well kept gravel roads and shaded sites. There are also some pull through which were less shaded. We had a back in site and loved the privacy and proximity to the river. Park was quiet, good internet, poor cell coverage and the park has a free dial out line for guests. We camped at Along the River Park in a Motorhome.

I loved our overnight stay here. We came up here to try out the zip lines but sadly the resort wasn't running the rides today, so we only stayed here 1 night. The scenery was peaceful with hummingbirds flying around, which was amazing. There is a beautiful stream with a bridge and hiking trail. The owners are the nicest you could meet. We plan to come back for longer stay. We camped at Along the River Park in a Motorhome.

We decided to come to the Ruidoso, NM as a last minute change after our previous plans were interrupted due to weather. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by one of the residents who was attending to the camp while the owners were away. We were offered the choice of whatever site we wanted, which was a nice change from the typical "you are assigned site #..." Most all sites have fire rings/tubs as well as many had picnic tables. We camped at Along the River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Clean, well maintained by onsite, attentive owners. River runs through camp. Lots of daytime road noise from Hwy 37. Impossible to avoid the road noise at RV parks in mountainous regions. Our site was right on the river and had a big swing, set near the river. Wifi was not good, except at the WiFi corral, until the night before we left. No phone reception, but park has a micro cell you can log onto. One phone per camp. No cable, but one broadcast station is available. Lots of room for big rigs. Pull throughs are mostly taken up by seasonal campers. We spent a week here and would return again. Extra $3/day for 50 amp hookup. We camped at Along the River Park in a Motorhome.

This is a small campground under new management since 2012. It's closer to Capitan than to Ruidoso. Pretty site along a river. There was a huge forest fire in the surrounding mountains in 2012, so miles and miles of dead trees...not so scenic. Very friendly owner. Weird bathroom/shower, very tired and in need of renovation. Hot water heater and something (well pump?) in the middle of the bathroom. Sign on shower says that it runs 5 minutes at full pressure and then shifts to low volume, but we both showered within our allotted 5 minutes. It's too far off US-70 to be a good overnight choice if you're passing through Ruidoso. We camped at Along the River Park in a Travel Trailer.

The friendly owners work to make your stay here comfortable. Basic utilities worked well but the wi-fi was slow and erratic. AT&T phone service is generally unavailable in the park but the office may be able to let you hook in through their network. Gravel sites were fairly level and shaded. The combination bathroom/shower area was clean. The rate reflects a Passport America discount. There are extra charges for 50 amp electric and for credit card payments. The park is a good base for exploring the area. We camped at Along the River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

After a 6 day stay dry camping in the Argentina Canyon near Bonito Lake, we needed a full service RV Park for some luxury camping (a shower, electricity, etc). We stayed here originally for 2 nights but had to extend it as we were having too much fun. The RV park's owners are both friendly and helpful. There are no permanent RV residents, which always make me think I'm in a trailer park rather than a RV Park! Just RV visitors like us. The first night going dry camping, we rented one of their pull-through areas that was nice so we could just bed down, not unhook and pull out the next morning. On the return trip, we got a space at the back, across the bridge near the river. The RV areas were full hook-up and had an indestructible picnic table. About 50 ft behind us was the river and a wooden swing seat for 3 where we sat and listened to the river. There were deer in our spot that we had to run off to back the RV into! Very nice. One of the owners will help you find your site and even make sure the RV is level. Then they leave you alone and let you do your thing. It was quiet at the park...no loud obnoxious music! Wi-Fi back where we were was sketchy. 1-2 bars and with 14 people online at once, slow. We had 1 bar on Verizon MiFi but only about .2 Mbps download, so slow as well. AT&T phones were worthless. No bars at all. I am assuming Verizon phones will work since the MiFi worked. We were in a 35 ft RV towed by a large SUV. Plenty of room and there were Class A's there too. The park is about 15 miles from town on the Hwy 37 that goes Bonita lake area. Far enough from Ruidoso to enjoy the country but only a short drive back into Ruidoso to enjoy the city. We camped at Along the River Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed for a month at $525 cash. What a nice park. Owner helped us back in, get leveled, then put out a nice level wooden step. He even delivers ice and wood if needed. Clean and quiet, close to the river and only 10 miles from downtown Ruidoso. This is a perfect campground, whether for a weekend or long-term stay. Only improvement would be to add cable. Will definitely be back next year. We camped at Along the River Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a small quiet Park with owner friendly management. The pull-thru has hard rock surfaces with FHU. There was no TV reception nor cable and VZW Wireless was limited to one tower and no data service. The WiFi is strong and worked flawlessly. They provide an outside unlimited long distant calling phone for patrons use. The Park is about 9 miles from Ruidosa and the view and quietness is most enjoyable. We camped at Along the River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nestled in a scenic valley just a few minute’s drive from all amenities such as restaurants, stores, and nightlife in nearby Ruidoso and Ruidoso Downs. We recently spent ten days here relaxing in the peaceful setting, listening to the sound of the river as it made its way past us. The new owners welcomed us like family. We were led to our spot and directed my husband in parking. If you want to purchase ice or firewood, they will even deliver it right to your door. We found this park very well cared for with lots of space between sites. The restrooms and showers were extremely clean. We will certainly recommend “Along the River RV Park” to anyone heading in that direction. We camped at Along the River Park in a Motorhome.

We are so excited with the spring and summer coming so we can head back to Along the River! This is one of the cleanest, friendliest campgrounds around. Sites are large and well maintained and the owners are amazing. They go out of their way to make your trip a pleasant one. Pets welcome. The shower houses and restrooms were very clean. Benches along the river to sit at and a playground for the kiddos! Definitely a 10 in our books! We camped at Along the River Park in a Motorhome.

One of the friendliest R.V. Campgrounds we have ever stayed at! Family friendly and pets too! The owners make you feel like you are right at home! Large spacious lots, and super clean. Bathrooms and showers are super clean and well maintained. Quiet time is enforced so it is a pleasant stay for everyone. Already made 2 more reservations here. A must stay park. Can't imagine the previous rating of a '10'. This is an absolutely terrible park. Dogs were running loose and droppings not cleaned up. The bathrooms were dirty. We needed a place for a night and this barely fit the bill. We'd never stay here again. We camped at Along the River Park in a Motorhome.
