This is an oasis on an otherwise long road with few services or towns between Raton and Clayton. Most of the sites are pull-throughs and are very level. Other than water, electric, and a dump station, there are no other amenities. Some sites have better satellite access than others. This is a good overnight stop. The onsite owners are very friendly and accommodating. Calling ahead for a reservation is probably a good idea especially on holiday travel periods. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to Capulin Volcano National Monument - a worthwhile visit if in the area. Note: Large vehicles and trailers are not permitted on the road to the caldera. They have a drop off area or simply take the toad to the monument and leave the rig at the RV park.

Nice, little mom and pop place for an overnight stop. Very friendly, easy check in. Site was long, level, gravel pull-through with nice shade tree although most sites looked as though there was no shade. Sites are close but utilities worked well and were easy to access. Only ding, there was no picnic table at the site. No cable but clear view for satellite. While close to the highway, traffic noise was not a problem. bring your own food, no restaurants in Capulin. We enjoyed our stay and made a reservation for our return trip. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Motorhome.

We stayed here as an overnight on our way North. The owners are very friendly, helpful and live on site. This is a small well kept park. We have a 45' motorhome pulling a full-size pickup. We had a pull-through and did not have to unhitch. The sites are gravel, level and utilities are good. The WiFi was good and there was a strong AT&T signal. I would definitely stay in the park again. Also they sell there own grain fed beef on site. Enjoy. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Motorhome.

Great for an overnight stay or a couple of days. We stayed over here for visiting Capulin Crater Nat'l Monument, which is just on the other site of the road. Great views of the crater. Level gravel back ins or big pull-throughs. Very friendly owners who live on the premises. Free good WiFi, only 2 stations on our antenna. It is along the highway but traffic is almost gone at night. No problem for us and we hate noise. We will be back. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Capulin National Monument, it is worthwhile to walk around the crater-mouth, breathtaking vistas.

The owners of the RV park sell all natural fully finished grass fed beef, packed in handy packages to put in your RV freezer. Great taste!

This is a clean, very well maintained park with great owners/managers on site. The sites are level gravel and adequate for big rigs. A very nice and convenient place to overnight. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Motorhome.

Good park for overnight stopover. Site was gravel and level. The only issue we had was we lost power several times in the 2AM to 4AM timeframe. Have no idea if this is normal or what. There were thunderstorms around 9PM to 10PM but nothing was going on when the power went out. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Motorhome.

We stayed for just one night. Owner lives on site and was very friendly and helpful. Gravel site was clean, hookups well designed and easily done. We had a pull through site, not perfectly level but well within acceptable range. There are many back in sites which are smaller and not as well kept. Most sites were empty when we were there. The area is rural and quiet. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This is in a remote area. The campground is about the only thing in town. Mount Capulin Volcano is well worth the visit. It offers great views of the area on the drive to the top. A short walk into the crater and other trails are available in the National Monument.

Friendly and helpful staff. A no frills park that is great for an overnight stay. A nice view of the Capulin Mountain volcano and a short drive to the top of the cinder cone. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Travel Trailer.

Capulin RV Park is a small ( about 15 sites ) immediately off of Hwy 87. It’s a family owned park and they honored our Passport membership $14.50. The sites are gravel, levelm and gave us a view of the Capulin volcano ( long extinct ). We had strong water pressure and no trees to obstruct our roof top satellite dish. Their WiFi was weak or non existent ( we were a distance from the office ) but not a problem for our one nite stay. We would stay here again if passing through this very small town. Campground is a level, crushed stone lot, with the sites somewhat close to each other, but sufficient room to get slides out. Each site has water and electric, and some sites also have sewage. You can see the Capulin volcano from the lot, and it is only about a 3 mile drive to the entrance to the road that goes up the volcano. Restrooms are a bit dated, but clean and adequate. Showers took a while to heat up, but were sufficiently warm once they had. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects the Passport America rate. A quiet, cozy and very clean little park nestled in the trees, run by a Christian family. Nice level pull-through sites, water/elecrtric sites, in shade; full hookup sites, no shade. Clean restrooms (hot due to no ventilation) and nice laundry. Only 1-2 full-timers. Wi-Fi operation is line of site to the office. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Travel Trailer.

I've seen this park from the highway many times and now glad to have used it. This is a very nice park for traveling to and from east to the Rockies or the other way. Sites are level, easy to get into and very nice people running things. Will definitely use this place again and recommend to travelers between Raton and Clayton. Very friendly family run operation. Right on the highway but not a real busy road. Did not notice road noise at night. Gravel sites. Ours was level, did not need any blocks. We were asked if we needed sewer and told them it was not required. The man said he would put us in his favorite spot then. It had water and electric. Some of the other sites did have sewer. This is a small park and looks like it might be a little tight if full. One very large rig was already in place but we watched another large one pull in, with a toad. They were able to just pull around and did not need to unhook. Very close to the Capulin Volcano. We stayed here one night and would stay again. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Motorhome.

This is the only campground near Capulin National Monument (3 miles away), so if that's your destination, this is the place. Considering that the owner has a virtual monopoly, it's quite a good spot. Nothing fancy, gravel parking lot with hookups. No amenities other than laundry room and showers. About six sites were occupied by seasonals and one was permanent. Wifi worked and was about average in speed. Verizon reaches the area reasonably well. Very little traffic on the main highway, so even though the sites are close to the road they are quiet. Owner was friendly. He also sells premium beef from a local cattleman. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Travel Trailer.
