Helpful owners. Pull thru site. No TP in men's bathroom, otherwise very nice site. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Travel Trailer.

Owners were very pleasant, escorted us to our site. We pulled in, but had to back out, but it was easy. We were relieved the CG was not full, because if someone had been next to us it would have been very, very close. We also parked our car in that spot, as there was no room behind us for our car. There were random picnic tables around. We were on a street, but traffic during the night was pretty quiet. There were plenty of quiet roads to walk the dog. Site was level, little bit of shade, but we still got satellite. Wifi signal was weak. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Went to Capulin Volcano national monument. It was interesting, but not spectacular. The hike to the top was very steep and I was not able to do it. We walked a bit down and a bit up (you can go either way or both ways).

Very nice campground and quiet. Small spaces but if not in use they let you use one next to you. Wifi is really weak I had to go to office porch to use. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Motorhome.

Warmly received by host.Escort to site and assistance in backing in. No cable TV. Only 3 local channels - 2 PBS. Needs cable to be competitive with parks in Raton.n. Quiet in evening even though alongside rest rooms. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Motorhome.

Overnight stay on way back to Louisiana after a month in CO. Very nice park with easy pull thru sites. The owners are super friendly and helpful. Everything is clean and neat; the well water is wonderful. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Motorhome.

For an overnight stop, I highly recommend this park. It definitely is not a "destination". The owners/managers were on the front porch to greet us and were extremely friendly. When we got to our site it was overrun with ants, which we reported to the owner. He immediately came over and took care of the problem. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Second stay at this RV/Cabin park as an overnight stop while traveling. We used both an RV spot and a cabin. The cabin was very cute, clean and comfortable. My kids said they slept better here than in a "top tier" condo at a Colorado ski resort that we had just left. The RV park is basically a big gravel parking lot with electric and water for each RV spot. As an overnight spot while traveling this place is great. It's right next to the highway but quiet enough to be comfortable. And the owners are super nice folks! We will plan on returning as we travel through this area each year. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Motorhome.

This is a small RV/tent campground in an even smaller town and very convenient to Capulin Volcano National Monument. Aside from a small cafe and grocery, there are no services in this town. The owners are friendly and accommodating. Checkout is at noon so that allows plenty of time in the morning to visit the summit and then return to hookup and depart. Water pressure and voltage have always been satisfactory. We have stayed here several times. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Capulin Volcano National Monument: Visitor's Center; drive to rim permitted for cars, vans and maybe a small Class-B; paved walking path around caldera rim and down to vent, star parties near end of month. Paved trail is steep in places and the 8,000' elevation should be taken into consideration.

Exceptional service and the owner noticed a tire problem on my TT that would have surely caused a roadside breakdown. As a result, I was able to change the tire in the park and buy a spare in the closest town. I would not have found without his assistance. All that aside, this is a great park by a must see feature - the Capulin Volcano. It's clean, well organized and complete. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

See the volcano. You must leave your TT at the base. We drove past Capulin several times not realizing how interesting it is. And it's not gray and brown as you might expect but green and cooler at 7000 feet. It's not going to blow either...

Great Family owned RV park with friendly & very helpful service. We parked in a back in site with good shade. We were here for just overnight & it worked out great for us. We will definitely be back. We called ahead & we were glad we did for they were full that night. I would have given them 10 stars but we could't connect to WiFi at our site. Small RV park located about halfway between Clayton and Raton NM. The town has only 70 people in it per the sign. Near the Capulin Volcano National Monument which is worth the stop here for a couple of nights. WiFi was slow but did work. The park is clean and well maintained. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Motorhome.

The owners of the park were excellent. We were here early in the season so there was plenty of room. Only 2 other campers at the same time. We had a site that was a back in but the owner let us pull in and drive our truck over the grass. Worked well. He also gave us the site next to us to park our truck. We only stayed one night instead of the planned 2 because a snow storm was coming. They gave us a credit for the 2nd night which was very nice of them. We found it very quiet and the town cute. Only 3 miles from Capulin Volcano but drive carefully as cattle are free range and are on the roads. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Fifth Wheel.

Price reflects two nights using Passport America. Side by side pull thrus and a few back ins. Can be set up where one RV can be on 50 amp and another on 30 amp using the same pedestal. Will then have to share the same water spigot, which happened to us on our 2nd night. Although didn't have any problems. The owners were very friendly, able to get our 60 foot combo in without unhooking. All gravel interior roads and sites. Close to the highway so is some road noise. Internet was great and best of all no campfires allowed. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Capulin Volcano National Monument. The visitor center was also interesting. Capulin has a small county store, with lots of booze, some soft drinks, bottled water, snacks, bread and a gift store. No fuel or restaurants in this little town.

Nice little park in the middle of nowhere. Sites were reasonably spacious, clean, which for me means there aren't a lot of cigarette butts on the ground to be picked up. Hookups functioned as intended, facilities were clean and we were far enough away from the railroad tracks and highway that noise was not an issue. Would gladly stay here again. Capulin volcano national monument is nearby but I don't know that anybody stays here for that reason. At least nobody said so. Tired of drivin? Pull in, sleep, get on down the road. Simple.
