Nice long level graveled pull thru. Good utilities. Sites are buddy sites but plenty of room for slides. Common yard is grass and very spacious. All sites have a smoker and grill. However most grills have trash in them. Cable requires the box they loan you. We can't get that to work so they refunded us some money even though the price includes cable. About 30 minutes to the cave. We camped at Bud's Place RV Park in a Motorhome.

We made a reservation in advance and needed to move our dates. We made two phone calls to ask for confirmation they understood we were delayed that went unanswered. Upon arrival, the office was closed at 2:30pm, no information was presented to us for check in. We helped ourselves to a site. The grounds were unkempt with numerous lawn equipment and other junk parked at the office. The grass had not been mowed for some time so we could not use the picnic table. Internet did not work. Bathroom facilities were built very beautifully, but were FILTHY both days (Monday/Tuesday) we were here. Hope the management gets it pulled together to continue to remain in business for overnight guests. This site is not worth $45 per night with a Sam's discount! We camped at Bud's Place RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a newly opened RV park. The sites are gravel and level pull throughs, with spacious areas between. Interestingly, RVs pull in from the opposite direction from neighbor, so two share a grassy area, with doors facing each other. Very neighborly. Landscaping is yet to be completed; there is some grass and small trees, yet to fill out. While a bit rough right now, Bud's Place will be awesome when completed. The manager is very efficient and accommodating. We camped at Bud's Place RV Park in a Motorhome.

It's a new park thus somewhat spartan yet restrooms, showers were extremely clean. It gets kinda noisy around 6am with a lot of construction traffic on the street. The ad in the Good Sam travel guide shows what the park would look like in a few years, but not now. It also promises 15 mins. to Carlsbad Caverns. Not even on a good day. The office is not always open thus making it difficult to ask about stuff. All in all would stay again in a year or two in hopes that the park has matured, We camped at Bud's Place RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The park is not a year old yet, so they are still working on the grounds. There are a lot of oil/gas/etc. workers living there, but still some large pull throughs for travelers. Very convenient if visiting Carlsbad, but simply a parking area, no views. We camped at Bud's Place RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Carlsbad Caverns is about an 1/2 hour south, be sure to catch the bat flight in the evening May-Sept. The Pecos River runs through town and there is a nice walking path along the river. There is also a dog park on the lower part of the river.

This is a new park, still under construction. All the electrical, water, and sewer were complete at our stay, but the bath/laundry amenities were still under construction, and landscaping is yet to be done; there is some grass and small trees, yet to fill out. While a bit rough right now, Bud's Place will be awesome when completed.

The sites are gravel and level pull throughs, with spacious areas between. Interestingly, RVs pull in from the opposite direction from neighbor, so two share a grassy area, with doors facing each other. Very neighborly.

Despite the construction, we had a pleasant stay. It is off the beaten path (about 2 miles from the main highway through town), so no loud traffic noise, and though not near a railroad, one can hear the mournful (some say romantic) wail of the train in the far distance -- not bothersome, though.

The manager is very efficient and accommodating. We were provided a cable box, and that evening, when we had difficulty getting the signal, I texted her after hours that we would need help in the morning. She responded right away and came over that evening to help get it going for us.

The park is close to town in one direction and to Walmart in the other. Nothing is very far away from anything, as Carlsbad is a small town. It's about 30 miles from the entrance to Carlsbad Caverns NP. We camped at Bud's Place RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Carlsbad Caverns 30 miles away; Albertson's in town for shopping. Walmart just down the road a bit. There are food establishments for eating in and dining, and a few that deliver!
