not much on landscaping or looks... checked in and were told about the pool, but within 30 minutes (and at 4:30 in the afternoon) it was locked and we couldn't use it after getting the grandkids all excited and ready for swimming (so the question is: WHY did she tell us about the pool and location but not tell us that it wasn't going to be open?

noisy location- but not much else available--

just ok as a place to stay before sightseeing. We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

The whole park is gravel which makes it dusty and loud. Plus, no wifi, even though they advertise it. Not available in the G row, "out of area" is the phrase my phone gave. Not very helpful in the office, "We don't guarantee wifi". Hmmm???? We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects Good Sam discount. Park's surface is gravel/dirt. This older park appears to have been a KOA at one time with the telltale A frame office. Access to the parks is good and the interior roads are easy to navigate to your site. We were placed in site 2. The utilities for the adjacent site 1 were within 3 feet of the edge of our motorhome. Our site did have a picnic table, but the site was so narrow that the table would have been unusable. The dog parks were dirt and not kept up well. Verizon and AT&T service was weak but acceptable. Satellite access was good from our site, but might not be from several of the sites located in the park interior. There were several over the air TV stations available, and the park does provide cable TV, which we did not try. We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Highly recommend visiting Carlsbad Caverns National park, about 15 miles south, as well as Guadalupue National Park, about 30 miles south of the park.

We were charged the full amount before we got there. They explained that's their policy. Never in 2 yrs full time, we never were charged until check in. The manager came over didn't apologize but gave us a free night at the higher rate.

The campground itself is nothing to write home about. There's permanents and workers here. They keep the pull throughs for the short term. But the sites are nose to back. Right now, we have no one behind us. Other people said, the site is close by, no real shade. On gravel with a picnic table with pavers. Dog park, a playground (sad), indoor pool, laundry(didn't use) and bath house (didn't use). Won't return. We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Near Carlsbad Caverns and hour from Guadeloupe National Park. Also about 1.5hr from Roswell. There's a Walmart close by, Albertson's.

This is an unremarkable RV park with an above average price. Not a good combination. It is all gravel and dirt. We were in what is apparently the short term stay section where they have tried to create a little better look with patios and picnic tables. The bathrooms were perhaps the oldest and most "worn" looking we have encountered. All of this for $42 per night. I would say $30 to $32 is more in line with the quality. Perhaps there just aren't any good alternatives in Carlsbad. When I connected the water hose, there was no water. I walked up to the office and told them I didn't have any water and they said, "oh, right, it's turned off for a repair". Would have been good if they had told me this when I checked in. We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Not many RV options in this area - this one is about 35-40 minutes from Carlsbad Caverns. People behind the counter are nice enough, but some parts of the park are apparently under construction, or at least our site was - jumbled mess of dirt and broken blocks right outside our door. Also, they said we were in a pull-thru, but it was really a pull-in but back out. Some of their sites are really long sites with two sets of hookups so if someone is parked in front of you, you can't pull through. Also, trash can has an annoying red flashing light that flashes 24/7 and trash was overflowing. At least they answer their phone. Not the worst site ever and definitely not the best. We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a bare bones RV campground. The staff was exceptional and the best part of the park. The sites barely have gravel and only a few trees throughout. You can see that they are trying to make some improvements as some of the sites have newly placed patios at the site. If you can use a "back in" site, you might have a little grass, and, as I said, some of sites have patios, but you are still pretty much in the dirt. Its hard to rate this place. Carlsbad is a dry dusty place it self. The campground is a very dry dusty place too, and I doubt that could ever change. There are a lot of oil field workers that also stay there full time, but.did not seem to create any issues. They were in regular RV trailers, too. It was close to Carlsbad Caverns, which was our reason for being there. Would I stay again? Maybe, as I don't think there are that many choices. But it was so difficult to keep anything clean. Price reflects Good Sam, and I think for the place, it was a bit pricey, but the park was pretty full. We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Great proximity to Carlsbad Caverns. Lots of oil rig workers stay here so men's shower could have been cleaner but overall good stay for 2 days for us. Little store in office sells basic food necessities which is handy. Pretty tidy spot. We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

I’d love to rate this park higher because the staff on check in were exceptionally helpful and friendly. There are also amenities here, as other reviewers have pointed out. But it’s basically a gravel parking lot and way overpriced, albeit within reasonable driving distance to the Caverns which is primarily what you are paying for. The gravel on the roads was so thick in a couple places that we thought we would have to use 4 wheel drive to get through it. In the area where there were trees, the spaces were very close. We had a premium treeless site which was easy to back into, level, and more spacious. We had very little problem with burrs in either of the two dog areas. We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

My biggest problem with this park was the hard rocky grounds. They still haven't paved or smoothed the sites. The dog could hardly walk through the big and rough rocky sites and streets. There was a "dog park" area but the sticker burrs kept getting in the paws. The bath house was clean but badly in need of repairs and rehabbing. Not one of my favorite places. Note: there are so many full-timers there, who apparently go to work early, that I was awakened by loud pickup trucks leaving the campground starting at 3:30 a.m. and going until about 7:30 a.m. We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

There are a few shaded areas, but only for small RVs or 5th wheels. 50 amp sites are nice and roomy with good water pressure. Hard to justify the daily rate of $41.50 plus tax though, since there are no paved roads (very dusty), lots of sticker burrs, and a few barking dogs running loose at night. The Wi-Fi there does not work in any of the areas, believe me, I tried them all. After asking the ownership about it, they said the Wi-Fi is not included in the rate. Our Verizon MIFI was intermittent. There is a small indoor swimming pool and arcade, but beware of losing your quarters in the machines. We would stay there again, only because there isn't much choice around Carlsbad, NM, since the one in town (Pecos River RV Park) is booked most of the time and the KOA is too far out of town and charges $47/night. We stayed there in a motorhome. We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Only stayed here for an overnight. The park is mostly gravel with some grass and trees scattered about. All utilities worked fine. The WiFi was fair, but we had no Verizon signal for a data connection. Rate shown is for Passport America discount. We would stay here again if traveling to Carlsbad. This park is in town, about 40 minutes to Carlsbad caverns itself (you can't camp there) Its about 80% residents with the transients occupying the back couple of rows. (furthest from the road) There is a R&R not far away that you get to hear at night but otherwise the camp is quite peaceful. There are a few kids amenities and a small pool. We didn't take advantage of it, but they have a pretty large library of DVDs available for checkout. wifi worked well, and wasn't glitchy or latent like a lot of parks. The staff was friendly and helpful directing us properly and helping us find eating places and others that we could park our rig at without difficulty. We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

The campground is clean with a clean pool and decent restrooms but very dusty. We were assigned a site that had a small shade tree and halfway through our first day, the electricity went out. We were told that it was a "known problem" with that row of campers and given a new spot. There were plenty of other spots we could have been assigned initially without being given one that had a known electrical problem. The management was efficient but curt and borderline rude. We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Cannot rave about this one. Overprices at $37. Sites are very close together, no privacy or even the feeling of such. Just another RV "resort" that packs them in like sardines, and one that needs a little TLC at that. Located convenient to the Caverns if that is your goal, but I would not return to this park.
