Beautiful location in the foothills of the Sandia mountains. Good location 5 miles off of I-40. Easy access. Very quite location. Old RV park but overall well kept. Laundry has been inoperable since we arrived for the month of June. It has been a good experience. Will be back. We camped at Turquoise Trail Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A nice park located off State 14 a mile from the entrance to Sandia Park, where the ski basin is located. It does have gravel roadways and mostly level gravel sites. My site was long enough for my 40' Class A and my 18' car hauler connected. Grass patio with grill and picnic table. Sites are shared with neighbor's patio on your patio side and back to back on opposite neighbor in an alternating parking pattern. FHU connections are close by. This is my second time here, which means it was good enough to return. Our rate is based on a monthly rate since we stayed for 5 weeks total. Electric is metered on long term site or a flat $90 fee for using a daily rate site for the month (which is what happened to us since no long term site were available during our stay. Office staff is super friendly. Easy access to Albuquerque and Santa Fe amenities. Cooler weather at almost 7000 feet elevation. We camped at Turquoise Trail Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is no OTA reception since the campground is so close to the Sandia Mountain Range. Open skies for those with satellite. A local grocery store is about 2 miles away with a post office and hardware store close by. Most night entertainment is in Albuquerque.

Friendly staff with check in and we were escorted to our site. Full hook ups with everything working properly. The park offers wifi and laundry facilities, but did not use. However the park is almost completely full with permanent residents. Lots of cars and other discarded items sitting around outside other's units. Park seemed and looked very run down. Also the sites are very close together. We camped at Turquoise Trail Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Definitely a overnight stopping place.....the sites are very close and there are a lot of permanent residents it appears.....full hookups which worked good...sites are fairly level and pull thrus were big enough for mh and toad but it could be tight getting in or out if park is full...laundry was still closed for season, will not open till May...need tokens for shower...wifi was hard to get connected and dropped out a lot, used our hotspots instead with good cell service...no cable and we couldn't get any over air channels, I'm sure it's because of location over the mountain from Albuquerque....just 6 miles off I40, entrance road has some nasty potholes so drive slowly We camped at Turquoise Trail Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We chose this campground as it is located in a scenic spot not far from Albuquerque and thought it would be nice to stay here while exploring the city. The campground itself is in a very beautiful location and although the road after the turnoff from NM-14 is poor and has very bad potholes, that, in and of itself, was not the problem. As pointed out by other reviewers, the main problem with this campground is the proximity to other campers. We have stayed at many packed campgrounds but this was the worst we have seen.

Connections and facilities are Ok but we found that being so close to other campers makes this campground unrecommendable. If you are just passing through, we suggest camping at one of the RV parks nearer the interstate. Another important piece of information is that this park does not allow any wood nor charcoal burning. We camped at Turquoise Trail Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Due to a change in travel plans we ended up at Turquoise Trail RV Park for one night. We called ahead to be sure they had space. Staff were friendly and helpful. Restrooms okay but door locks broken. Showers require free tokens. Our space was relatively level. Spaces are VERY cozy. We had a family of 8 come in next to us. They had a van and travel trailer plus they set up 2 tents on the grass between our spaces. They were basically right outside our door. Being that we were there only for the night, it wasn't a real issue. NO wood fires allowed - only gas. The park is tucked into a quiet spot just off Highway 14, with an easy drive up to Madrid and Cerrillos NM...very scenic area. No real complaints with the RV Park. We camped at Turquoise Trail Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Quiet park at the foot of Sandia Mountains. Close to Albuquerque and surrounding areas. Host is friendly and accommodating. Applied weekly and military discounts to reduce rate. Level site with FHU 30/50A service. Site are gravel with grass patio and picnic table. Grill at site but fire restrictions prevent use. Campground is split with RV'S on one side and tenting on an opposite side. Gravel road entrance from paved roadway and gravel interior roads. Swings available for children. Pets permitted. My site was a pull thru accommodating my 40' Class A with my 18' trailer attached. I would stay here again. We camped at Turquoise Trail Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

This was an OK place to stay to visit the area. The sites are very tight, and common areas between units are shared--each unit pulls in opposite of each other, and the grass (very narrow) is for both units to use. The park has a lot of deferred maintenance--looking rather run down, and could use some work, especially on the sites. Picnic tables warped; grills very rusted. We camped at Turquoise Trail Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

This campground is located in a nice area with views of the mountains and a cool climate. The roads and sites are dirt/gravel and rough. Most sites are a bit tight getting into and some very close with patio areas facing each other. Much of the gravel/rock has been washed or pushed away from the sites which become a muddy bog during the frequent afternoon rains. Areas around the sites are trimmed weeds/local vegetation. The laundry room was dirty, basically a wood utility shed off level to the point the washer (front load) doors wouldn't close without lifting up on them. Utilities worked properly, no cable or off air TV, water pressure just a bit low. A reasonable place to stay but in the future will go to some of the nicer parks on the opposite side of the mountain (Alb.). On the positive side, the camp hosts are very nice and helpful. We camped at Turquoise Trail Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here one night to break in our new travel trailer. We were assigned space #21 and were very disappointed. As soon as we parked, there was an overpowering stench of sewer coming from the RV next to us. The park was already full, so we were stuck. If we were staying more than one night we would have left, but one night we chose to suck it up and endure. Overall the park seemed quiet and most folks just kept to themselves. There are some decent looking spots, but those were taken by the long timers. The area around space #21 is full of weeds. The area has potential, and with some care it could be much better. We camped at Turquoise Trail Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rate reflects monthly rate divided by 30. We also paid 12 cents/kW hour electricity. Gravel sites, fairly level. Super quiet and peaceful. We were here in April and it was often windy, but the temperature was decent: 35- to 70-degree days; and 25- to 35-degree nights. This RV park is 20 minutes from Albuquerque, but it's almost like a different world. The Park is close to plenty of mountain hiking. Nearby Albuquerque is a lovely, clean city with plenty of good shopping, restaurants, museums, etc. The Park hosts were incredibly helpful and friendly. The sites were well maintained and spacious. The bathrooms and showers were closed due to the weather and water shortages. However, due to the overall atmosphere and location, we would definitely stay here again. We camped at Turquoise Trail Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very quiet and peaceful park. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. I would have rated it a 10 except their laundry facility was out of service. Others have written that the entrance road is rough--it's just a pretty good gravel road, and we had no problems with it. Sites are level, and the park is conveniently located to Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Their Wi-Fi service was outstanding. The views of the mountains are wonderful. On the other side of the mountain from Albuquerque, so it is about 10 degrees cooler. Rough road getting into the park. Site was big enough for our 44' RV to pull thru. There was a tent/cabin area that we were able to run the dogs. Host couple was very friendly and helpful. It snowed when we were there, so we only stayed one night because there was a bigger storm coming. We almost did not make it out of the park, not the park's fault just something to be aware of. Grocery store near. Wish we would have been there at a warmer time to check out all the trails around the area...great hiking opportunities. There were several campers that appeared to be workers. The grounds were not well kept...dog poo everywhere. We camped at Turquoise Trail Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
