Check in was easy. Our first site did not work out . Change for another site was easy, no problem. Verizon and Mifi work great. Over the air TV is good.
Electric, water good. Laundry very nice. It you want river sites 1-8 they are mostly for drive in not for back in as connections are backwards as we found out. Nice location and very quiet. We camped at Sky Mountain Resort RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to ride the Cumres & Toltec train. It is the highest and longest train ride. Best ever. Campground is 2 miles south. The town of Chama is charming.

Visited this campground in early September 2015; stayed in site 7 along the river. We found the campground well groomed, clean and attractive. Our site along the river was shaded, some, for instance sites 1 and 2 are more in the open which would be good for satellite reception. We did not use satellite and had excellent reception OTA with our RV antenna. The river sites are designed for motor homes to pull in but the staff was very accommodating in offering an extension cord if needed. We did not need it as our power cord was long enough to run under the RV. The campground was quite although nearly full. The sites are not too close together and those not on the river and under the shade trees are almost in a park-like setting. The best thing about this campground is the customer service. The owners went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, from leveling our RV (it only needed slight leveling) with their leveling boards no less ... to walking our dog at noon while we road the Cumbres Toltec train. Campground is big rig friendly and easily accessible from Hwy 64. They appreciate your business, take pride in their campground and it shows! We would definitely stay in this campground again. We camped at Sky Mountain Resort RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Found some beautiful clothes while shopping in Chama, which I found surprising for such a small town. The Cumbres Toltec train ride and lunch at Osier was wonderful. If you can swing the Parlor car - do so; you won't be disappointed.

This was our fourth year at Sky mountain. Excellently hosted RV park on the Chama River. Quiet, cool well cared for park. Owner even helps you park and move tables to suit your needs. Good wi-fi, water pressure good electricity stable. We didn't even use the over the air TV (no cable available) set out every night to enjoy the cool clean mountain air. We will return. Small Park Make reservations early! We camped at Sky Mountain Resort RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Ride the train. Fish the river. Drive the Mountains.

This is one of the most beautiful parks we've stayed in. We had a river site, #2, which was beautiful , plenty of room between sites. These sites are designed for motorhomes to pull in for a view of the river, 5th wheels or travel trailers that back in might need some extra sewer hoses and such. Sites are fairly level, utilities were good, water pressure was approx 50 lbs. the owners are the best. Bill will do anything he can to take care of you, we stayed for 6 nights and loved it, we will be back. We camped at Sky Mountain Resort RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects 5 week stay. Excellent park with wonderful owners who make sure that everything is clean, has good hookups, and all are made welcome. We had a back in with trees behind us and the owner came out and trimmed the trees to clear our satellite dish. There are pot lucks and entertainment with friendly campers-nice folks camp here. We will return! We camped at Sky Mountain Resort RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Cumbres & Toltec railroad trip from Chama to Antonito, CO was a fun trip and the breakfast burritos at Finas were delicious.

We enjoyed our stay here. The sites were fairly spacious. The owner guided to our space and helped us get parked in a site where the turning radius was very tight. The wifi was reliable. We had a fair Verizon cell and data signal. The sites in the tree canopy area had great green space in the center. The park is quiet and only about a mile out of town. We had excellent satellite signal. We would come here again. We camped at Sky Mountain Resort RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Second time to stay here. Owners are wonderful and the campground is spotless, above normal maintained, every blade of grass and tree trimmed. Gravel site over looking the river was shaded, we could get sat reception, but we loved waterfront site 8 so much we stayed parked. top rated by our standards. We camped at Sky Mountain Resort RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Limited things to do, a High Country Restaurant near by best in town. take the train for a fun day. limited grocery and services, but competitive diesel prices at the only fuel stop in area.

We were escorted to our site and guided in. He even offered to help us set-up our rig. VERY friendly management here...and helpful as well. We discussed possible fishing spots among other things. They allowed me to borrow one of their trail maps. They had a full breakfast for everyone on Father's Day.

I highly recommend this RV park to anyone. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Sky Mountain Resort RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice RV park. Owner very helpful and friendly. Assists in parking and does a good job. We parked in an open section for good satellite reception but the park has areas with trees and riverfront sites. Came here for the train, planned on 3 days but extended an extra day. We camped at Sky Mountain Resort RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The train is great. This was our second train trip. Note, first stay at this RV park.

Great park. Owners are great and very helpful. Bbeautiful view. When you park other campers come out to watch the show then take turns making sure you get every thing set up just right. If you don't have something that they think you need they will loan it to you. Every one is friendly and works to make sure you enjoy your self. Camped there before and will camp there again. WiFi worked fine. This is a small park so make your reservations early. We camped at Sky Mountain Resort RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a spectacular park - quiet - clean - beautiful setting. The owners are really a blessing to all - they know how to run a park and treat their guests. They take care of this place and it shows. The sites are spacious and very level. The owners make it a point to make sure you are satisfied and go out of their way to take care of everything. This is our second time here - and will definitely be back - so much to see and do in and around the area. We see a number of return guests - that says it all! We camped at Sky Mountain Resort RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground alongside the Rio Chama. Three types of sites in the campground - the pull in waterfront sites directly along the river, back in sites in the woods behind the waterfront sites, and the bulk of the sites in a mostly open gravel area (pull thrus and back ins). Wide gravel access roads with level gravel sites. The initial entrance road is concrete and might be a touch too narrow if two rigs were trying to pass (you can’t see what might be about to turn in to the campground from the base of the entrance road). We were in a waterfront site with picnic table, fire ring, full hookups, and the sound of the Rio Chama outside our front door. Hookups were at the extreme back of the site which might make satellite access problematic (back of the site is in the trees and our dish is mounted in the back). There is enough room to pull forward (at least in our 37’ coach) to clear the trees for the satellite, but it would require long utility runs. Power ok (but not hot enough to really stress it with A/C running), water pressure ok, sewer ok. The wifi had good signal strength, but generally poor to fair bandwidth ranging from 10Kbs to 160Kbs, but the installation was relatively new and probably just needs to have some kinks worked out. Verizon cell was 4 bars with usually decent bandwidth. Very friendly and responsive people running the place - firewood and mail delivered to your doorstep. We will most definitely use this campground as our base whenever we are in the area. We camped at Sky Mountain Resort RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects 30 day stay. We love this park! Owners are very helpful and friendly, even supplied boards to level our rig in a slightly unlevel site! Everything worked perfectly and we had good satellite dish access. Many of the campers return each year and make all welcome. Fun potlucks and get-togethers build community here. We will return. We camped at Sky Mountain Resort RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
