The park's sites are set up kind of hard to figure out. We had #10 reserved, but ended up opting for a first come, first serve site. The sites are a little more wide open and spacious. Not a lot of people here, maybe that's why. The electric and water hookups are are on the picnic table side of the RV which is different than we are used to. It is a nice peaceful area. Interior roads are easy to navigate with a big rig. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lot of history here! Great Train Depot museum and state park museum, both very well done. We stayed a week which was about 4 days too long. Border Patrol is everywhere! We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Small town and easy access to Mexico if that is your interest, we did some off-roading in our Jeep. Meteor and volcanic crater sites in the area, mostly on private land, but landowners do give permission if asked. If you don't ask you are trespassing and subject to legal actions. Small museum in town, good restaurants., but not fine dining.

A Beautiful RV Park with a pull-thru site with electric and water. Note: we needed and extension for our electric hookup and our water hookup. as the connections were too far away in our site #7. The sites are very generous in size with a covered picnic table, fire pit and a generous amount of desert landscaping. There is a museum that details the invasion of Poncho Villa in 1916. There is also a Railroad Museum in town that is also worth a visit. And be sure to travel a few miles south into Mexico to Las Palomas and go to the Pink Store for everything Mexican and a Margarita while you are shopping. They also have a restaurant that is quite good. There is nothing else in town except dental services. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Motorhome.

I stayed here for one night so I could go to Palomas for Dental Work. The site itself was fine with water and Electric and a shaded Picnic Table. I stayed toward the back f the park in site number 40. Television was a bit hard to find but I eventually got a few channels. I did hear some road noise until about 9PM but after that I heard nothing. The guy who checked me in was a little rude and that's how they got a 9 instead of a 10. I would swear I saw him pocket my rental fee. No issues with electric. I did not use water. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We attended an Airstream rally at this park and were particularly pleased with our stay. We would definitely stay here again even without attending a rally. This park is as far south as you can go as it is right on the border with Mexico. We felt quite safe here and did our nightly walks with the dogs with no worries. We stayed at the furthest southern loop which was laid out a bit strange but there was plenty of room and we felt our site was rather spacious. Most sites had a decent size cover with a picnic table. The north loop was even more spacious with some very generously size pull throughs. Now there is no grass, but cactus, mesquite trees and sand and dirt, but you are in the middle of the desert so that is to be expected. There is a nicely done small museum and the little town has a couple decent restaurants which was a surprise. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a neat park. it's clean with plenty of room between sites. Not busy in August because of temps., but they fill up in winter, with a 14 day stay limit. Good access to Palomas for touristing. Out of the way, but stay there if you're going south to Mexico. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This park is unique in the fact that there is a Pancho Villa museum at the park. It is small but very well done and interesting. The campground was having its electrical updated and the workers were very friendly and told us when the electric would be shut down and for how long. There is a nice little outside area with markers identifying the plants. This park is more of an experience and it is kinda rustic but I loved it!! It wasn't crowded and the sites were large. The Cacti were in bloom and beautiful. You have to like out of the way spots in the middle of nowhere to enjoy this. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We drove 3 miles to the border and walked across to the pink store. Did some shopping (free margaritas while you shop and they were not stingy with the tequila) and ate lunch. Stopped at the nearby liquor store and picked up some tequila. One bottle can be carried across the border per person.

We stayed here for one night on the way home. The park is built in the former army camp from 1916 when Pancho Villa invaded the area. There is lots of space around each site, with interesting desert plants around. The site was level and we did not have to unhook. At&t service was spotty. No wi-fi. There are only 6 reservable sites but there are others with hookups that are not. There seemed to be plenty available. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Travel Trailer.

As others have already mentioned, this park is kind of confusing. It took me a couple spins to figure it out. I didn't ask the campground host for help, shame on me. Some of the sites have the service pedestal set right next to the patio, so you need an extension cord and long hose if you select one of those. Once I got settled in, everything was fine. Tips for other Campers:

There's some historic sites and a museum in the park that cover a crucial period in the Mexican-American War. Very Interesting. Also, it's only a couple miles from the Mexican border. If you decide to cross, be sure to visit The Pink Store.

Overall Rating:

Only stayed overnight here and didn't use any of the facilities so can't comment. Electric and water hookups worked well. This place has the most confusing set up of any place I've ever been though. There are some sites in rows along the outside, but there are circles in the center and it's very difficult to figure out exactly where you are supposed to park. Some are pull throughs, some are "pull ups", some are back-ins, and it's hard to decide what hookups go with which sites sometimes. Other than that, it's a clean, wide open, desert campground just a mile or so from the border and most of the sites appeared to be nice and level. Good dump station too. Not sure why you would want to stay in the area, but it makes a fine overnight stop or place to stay if you want to visit the town south of the border. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Truck Camper.

This park is very nice if you like the desert. The sites (water & electric only) are spacious and include a fire ring and covered picnic table. The museum on site is fantastic and the volunteers and rangers are all very helpful. The park wasn't very busy when we were here, so it was very quiet at night. We will return to stay a few nights and go into Mexico. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Motorhome.

Wow! Our kind of park. Nice clean restrooms, enjoyed the layout and the landscaping in the northern half of the park, although the whole park is nice and very clean. Yes, it's a desert environment. Only about 10 spaces taken for first 3 days now about 20 taken. We learned about the history here and visited the excellent museum free with stay and historical society across street in train depot was very enjoyable. Very quiet park and nice staff and volunteers. ATT cell worked with our cell booster 5 bars, but without we picked up movistar from mexico and no ATT. No wifi. Did not cross border. Will definitely stay here again. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Motorhome.
