We attended an Airstream rally at this park and were particularly pleased with our stay. We would definitely stay here again even without attending a rally. This park is as far south as you can go as it is right on the border with Mexico. We felt quite safe here and did our nightly walks with the dogs with no worries. We stayed at the furthest southern loop which was laid out a bit strange but there was plenty of room and we felt our site was rather spacious. Most sites had a decent size cover with a picnic table. The north loop was even more spacious with some very generously size pull throughs. Now there is no grass, but cactus, mesquite trees and sand and dirt, but you are in the middle of the desert so that is to be expected. There is a nicely done small museum and the little town has a couple decent restaurants which was a surprise. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a neat park. it's clean with plenty of room between sites. Not busy in August because of temps., but they fill up in winter, with a 14 day stay limit. Good access to Palomas for touristing. Out of the way, but stay there if you're going south to Mexico. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This park is unique in the fact that there is a Pancho Villa museum at the park. It is small but very well done and interesting. The campground was having its electrical updated and the workers were very friendly and told us when the electric would be shut down and for how long. There is a nice little outside area with markers identifying the plants. This park is more of an experience and it is kinda rustic but I loved it!! It wasn't crowded and the sites were large. The Cacti were in bloom and beautiful. You have to like out of the way spots in the middle of nowhere to enjoy this. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We drove 3 miles to the border and walked across to the pink store. Did some shopping (free margaritas while you shop and they were not stingy with the tequila) and ate lunch. Stopped at the nearby liquor store and picked up some tequila. One bottle can be carried across the border per person.

We stayed here for one night on the way home. The park is built in the former army camp from 1916 when Pancho Villa invaded the area. There is lots of space around each site, with interesting desert plants around. The site was level and we did not have to unhook. At&t service was spotty. No wi-fi. There are only 6 reservable sites but there are others with hookups that are not. There seemed to be plenty available. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Travel Trailer.

As others have already mentioned, this park is kind of confusing. It took me a couple spins to figure it out. I didn't ask the campground host for help, shame on me. Some of the sites have the service pedestal set right next to the patio, so you need an extension cord and long hose if you select one of those. Once I got settled in, everything was fine. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There's some historic sites and a museum in the park that cover a crucial period in the Mexican-American War. Very Interesting. Also, it's only a couple miles from the Mexican border. If you decide to cross, be sure to visit The Pink Store.

Only stayed overnight here and didn't use any of the facilities so can't comment. Electric and water hookups worked well. This place has the most confusing set up of any place I've ever been though. There are some sites in rows along the outside, but there are circles in the center and it's very difficult to figure out exactly where you are supposed to park. Some are pull throughs, some are "pull ups", some are back-ins, and it's hard to decide what hookups go with which sites sometimes. Other than that, it's a clean, wide open, desert campground just a mile or so from the border and most of the sites appeared to be nice and level. Good dump station too. Not sure why you would want to stay in the area, but it makes a fine overnight stop or place to stay if you want to visit the town south of the border. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Truck Camper.

New clean restrooms. We were only one of two campers in the whole place.

I saw some reviewers talk about the dust and lack of trees. It's the desert. What do you expect? We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Motorhome.

This park is very nice if you like the desert. The sites (water & electric only) are spacious and include a fire ring and covered picnic table. The museum on site is fantastic and the volunteers and rangers are all very helpful. The park wasn't very busy when we were here, so it was very quiet at night. We will return to stay a few nights and go into Mexico. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Motorhome.

The sites were very nice. The restrooms and showers were clean. Not much for hiking trails there but good places to hike within an hour away. We hiked in Spring Canyon Park. Most sites had a covered picnic table providing nice shade. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Wow! Our kind of park. Nice clean restrooms, enjoyed the layout and the landscaping in the northern half of the park, although the whole park is nice and very clean. Yes, it's a desert environment. Only about 10 spaces taken for first 3 days now about 20 taken. We learned about the history here and visited the excellent museum free with stay and historical society across street in train depot was very enjoyable. Very quiet park and nice staff and volunteers. ATT cell worked with our cell booster 5 bars, but without we picked up movistar from mexico and no ATT. No wifi. Did not cross border. Will definitely stay here again. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Motorhome.

I stayed here with a group of 14 or 15 trlrs. It's a pleasant park, with very nice folks in charge. Utilities worked well. The historical aspects are very interesting. They also had a local car/hot rod 'show' on Saturday, which was a hoot, probably 40 or so vehicles. Fun. A trip to the Pink Store across the border is a must (bring your passport), they hand you a free marg as you walk in ! This will no doubt be an annual thing with us ! We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Travel Trailer.

$4 per night (we did have the NM Annual Camping Pass that we purchased for $225 last year-otherwise it's $14 per night plus a $5 daily entry fee) was for a level sand 30-amp electric and water site. There was a covered picnic table and fire ring at each site. Sites are very generous and have desert vegetation throughout and the trees will offer shade once they leaf out. Many types of birds and butterflies were flitting about and lizards zipped along the ground or up a tree trunk. All sites had a 360° view of the surrounding cactus-filled desert and mountains. This campground is located three miles north of Palomas, Mexico where there are shopping opportunities, and dental and vision care. All the facilities were in immaculate condition. The main attraction is, of course, the historic displays and information about Pancho Villa. There are multi-use trails that are accessed along the perimeter of the campground. AT&T service was two bars of 3G. Verizon coverage was four bars of 4G LTE. We received all the major networks and many more OTA TV stations. There were also many radio stations. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a desert park on the Mexican border. If you like desert and Mexico you will feel right at home here. We loved it as a nice, quite, warm park. When we were there it was very quiet with only a few other campers. Other than relaxing in the area warm desert climate, you can visit Mexico on a easy, relaxed atmosphere day trip. Just drive to the border, about 3 miles away, park and walk across. Don't forget your passport or passport card to get back across the border. Have lunch at the Pink Store. We had strong Verizon voice and data. Satellite was not a problem since there are no trees. It felt totally safe. It is a gravel lot with a strange layout, but you will solve this, figure it out. We will certainly visit again. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Motorhome.

Love the roomy sites--no crowding. Most of the electric hookups are on the wrong side but the sites are so large you can park any way you wish. Most sites have a covered picnic table and grill. Interesting history exhibits, pretty cactus and other desert vegetation [although many were dead or dying]. Good Verizon signal; excellent value. Have been here before and will come again. Well laid out, spacious campground. Roomy, level gravel sites. Could get very dusty in a blow, like all the southwest desert area. Only 3 miles from Mexican border and touristy shops, but we felt totally secure. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Travel Trailer.
