1 Park near Costilla, New Mexico
Boondocking is what this "RV Park" is for. The park is just that, a mountain meadow "park"
along a stream. There are no amenities not even trash cans, but the road in is well maintained gravel and although there are a few concrete pic-nic tables and porta potties and a sign saying do not create new fire rings, you can set up just about anywhere. We chose a meadow along the stream and backed in amoung the trees. Do not park directly under the trees when the sap is flowing in spring and summer. There are fish in the stream and there are supposed to be 4-6 fishing lakes but we did not go that far back on the road. Since there are no amenities, I have to say it was a bit more expensive than I think it was worth particularly compared to a state park. The nearest store is 15 miles away in Costilla. If you want to get away from other people (we were the only campers we saw for the three days we were there and included a weekend), but still have someone come by once a day to make sure you have paid and are ok then I guess Rio Costilla Park is for you. - Motorhome Madness
