I love this park. It may be the most peaceful place we've ever camped. The couple that owns/runs the campground is as kind and helpful as they could be. The campground is almost 2 miles down a dirt road and more than 10 miles from the nearest town. While we were here the park was never even half full. Not great for the owners, but we loved it. We had the club house to ourselves and used it pretty much daily. It has a Wii, which our kids love, a pool table in poor repair (not that I'm complianing) and a kitchen. While the clubhouse is not kept very clean, there are also two restrooms with showers that are kept very clean. The laundry room consists of 2 very large washers and 2 very large dryers. You can do 2 or 3 loads of laundy in one of these massive machines which are paid for on the honor system (use them, keep track of your loads, and pay at checkout). That's really all that there is to the park. It's neat, simple, cheap, and peaceful. If that's what you're looking for, you'll love it. If you're looking for a resort-style campground with loads of amenities, keep looking. We camped at Temperate Zone RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

City of Rocks State Park is about 20 minutes away and is very very cool. Rockhound State Park is about 30 minutes away and is ok, though not nearly as much fun as City of Rocks. You're also less than 1 hour from Mexio and less than 3 hours from the Gila Cliff Dwellings when you stay here. If you like the outdoors, there's plenty to do.

We stayed here for a couple of weeks. This is the most quiet and relaxing campground I have ever been to. The owners are wonderful and very helpful. This is not a destination resort style campground. There is no pool or playground and that suits us. The place is well maintained and spotless. There are many places to visit and sights to see within driving distance. Verizon Mifi and cell service worked very well here. You can't go wrong with this park. We camped at Temperate Zone RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a wonderful campground where you will find peace and quiet, without a lot of frills. Although there is not a lot of things found in many other parks, no pool, no scheduled activities, this campground is rated a 10 because everything they do have is meticulously maintained and spotlessly clean! The owners are there if you need anything, but never intrusive. The park is wide open, with huge pull through sites, all level gravel, and lots of shade trees at the sites. There is a laundry room, which operates on the honor system, with brand new washers and dryers, a fully equipped clubhouse with kitchen, book and movie exchange, a place for pets, if you have them, but most of all, what Temperate Zone has is that wonderful peace and tranquility you get being far from town and surrounded by desert vistas. This was our second stay here, the first time we came through we were only going to stay overnight and move on, but were forced to stay another two nights due to not feeling well. Then we decided to stay even longer because we found it so very relaxing, we ended up staying for two weeks!! If you enjoy getting away from it all, and don't need a pool to relax, Temperate Zone is definitely for you. We camped at Temperate Zone RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Took us awhile to find the campground and we almost gave up. Our GPS showed Perrin St. on the western side of NM180, which is a no entry service road. Go further north a few hundred yards and Perrin is on the eastern side. There is a sign for an RV campground (can't remember the name) but it doesn't say "Temperate Zone" because they have yet to renew the sign after a name change. Travel about 2 miles up a flat, gravel and bumpy road to reach the Temperate Zone. It is a large expanse of gravel - all sites level. The staff were very friendly. There is a fabulous DVD swap library, very clean laundry with brand new washers and driers (honor system) and spotlessly clean bathrooms (one each for male and female). We were surprised we had our electrical meter read and if we went over a certain amount you paid extra on a pro rata basis. We camped at Temperate Zone RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $10.00

The posted rate reflects the Passport America discount which is good for two nights. A monthly stay is $125 + electricity ($100 deposit). This little campground is away from the train and freeway noise one deals with at most of the Deming RV parks. It is located 15 miles north of Deming itself, and there is a 1.8 mile very washboard-rutted gravel/dirt road leading to the park. First the good: All sites are pull through and shaded by mulberry trees in season. There is a lovely clubhouse with cable TV, pool table, kitchen area, laundry, book and DVD exchange, and the nicest shower/restroom combination we've ever encountered. The laundry room is an "honor" system. $1.50 to wash and $1.50 to dry. You pay when you leave. The surrounding countryside is very rural/ranch land, including cattle next door. If you have horses you are able to corral them here. Friendly and helpful owners. The stars at night are incredible. It is also very pet friendly. The bad: It gets very windy here, so bad that you aren't able to be outside your rig or the clubhouse for any amount of time. Gusts rocked our rig many, many times. Our internet access and cell phone service with AT&T was spotty to non-existent. That said, we'd probably return if we were in the area again; when, hopefully when it is less windy. We camped at Temperate Zone RV Park in a Motorhome.

This price reflects Passport America, good for 2 nights. Park is clean and well kept and right off Highway 180, 15 miles north of Deming. Turn right and go a short drive on a wide gravel road in good condition. Park is very pet friendly. Well behaved pets can be off leash with owner present. This is a country setting with cattle ranches around. A nice get away from I-10 and city stuff. We enjoyed driving the country roads and the City of Rocks State Park is close by. City of Rocks is a must see park of incredible rock formations. The owner of this park was extremely attentive and helpful. If you're on your way to Silver City, this is a good stopover. We used our Verizon air card for wi-fi. Cell phone worked. We camped at Temperate Zone RV Park in a Motorhome.
