This park is easy to find and the sites are nice and big. They say "No rig too big". The utilities are easily accessible and the supply a water hose at each site. The internal road and nice level sites are gravel but have a nice big concrete patio and picnic table. The sites are clean and tidy and are on a few different levels of the mountainside. The only complaint is that the WIFI is terrible and drops off constantly no matter what time of the day or night you use it. The office staff are wonderful. We camped in a Travel Trailer. We camped at Cedar Cove RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Beware of bait and switch tactics used by management here to get you in the door.As for the RV park, the spots are mostly big enough for large vehicles with out disconnecting, while the smaller spots are mostly full timers.I would not recommend the area for extended stays, maybe a week at most as decent shopping is scarce and the water is bad.Be sure to have your knee pads if you need to get on the ground as the gravel is hard on knees. We camped at Cedar Cove RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cedar Cove RV Park, manager at Cedar Cove RV Park responded to this review

I am sorry you had a bad experience. We are a small community and shopping for larger stores is 45 minutes away. We do have very unique shops, and day trips that other people enjoyed tremendously. All of our sites at Cedar Cove are large and extra large surrounded by BLM land so we have walking, biking, ATV, and 4 Wheel trails. Our water is tested every 3 months and approved by MaGee and Associates Engineering Co., along with a yearly inspection by the NM Environmentalist. We have never had problems with our water. We now have a Fitness Center, and Pool hall/game room to help accommodate our guest, along with a very large library, kitchen area with 24/7 laundry facilities. As for the Bait and Switch Tactics, We are very honest, straight forward and welcoming here at Cedar Cove.

We paid $270.00 plus electric. Although we did not stay a full month this was the better way to go. The park is nice, the space that we had was large and backed onto a gully so there was no one right behind us. The showers and other facilities are kept very clean and the staff are very helpful. Very dog friendly. Would stay here again if in the area. Only negative was garbage bins were always full. They need a few more for the number of residents. We camped at Cedar Cove RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lake is beautiful, would be really fun in the summer. Walmart, although small, is in Truth or Consequences, not too far away. All the Elephant Butte has is a Family Dollar. TorC has a number of Hot Springs facilities.

Tips for other Campers:

We were there just the one night. Did go in to Elephant Butte for dinner, "Big Food" - suggested by campground host ... food was okay, restaurant was very small. It was Sunday, so much of the shopping ops were "closed".

Overall Rating:

We stayed almost a month here, as prices are reasonable. It is kept very clean, has showers, a "clubroom/kitchen", laundry, but that's about it. The office area does smell of sewer & cigarettes as the hosts smoke alot right outside the door pretty much non stop if their boss isn't there. The sewer smell is only in the building area of the office, and a couple nearby sites. All the sites are roomy, wifi works well in most areas, its quiet in here, but no "real" activities. They just started a birthday cake & ice cream once a month, to celebrate anyone's birthday who wants to be let it known they have a birthday (feels like something nursing homes would do). They are now starting up card nights, coffee or donut mornings once a week, craps, and other games to gather and play. Not much in the activity department. Staff is nice though, and its a good place to relax, and unwind. Different sites are diff prices depending on what you want to have on your site. We camped at Cedar Cove RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Some good restaurants in town to go out to eat at. Bullocks is a grocery store that cuts their own meat. Very good store. Don't stay in the row near the office (10-13) as sewer smells are horrible and go into your rv daily. They have had a sewer problem for a while is what we were told by one worker there. You also feel isolated from everyone on that row.

One of the nicer parks...pull through sites for even the longest rigs, good FHUs, wonderful office staff that makes you feel welcome to their community. No pool or other amenities but not a drawback. Washrooms, showers and laundry meticulously clean...full kitchen and clubroom available for group activities. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Cedar Cove RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

County museum is a "must see". Several hot springs available for soaking. Truth or Consequences very close by for shopping and dining. Otherwise just a nice area to have some R&R.

We just stopped for one night on our way to Ariz. We have stayed here before and really enjoy this CG. The check in was easy and friendly. We were escorted to our nice large and level pull through. Utilities all worked well. I thought the water pressure was high which is easily adjusted. They had a little cook out the day we were there. We attended and enjoyed it. This would be a great place to stay for a while but there is not much to do in the area. We would definitely stop again We camped at Cedar Cove RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a well maintained campground, staff were friendly and helpful at check-in. Roads and sites are gravel, so a little dusty. We had a spacious and level pull-through site and big rig access was good. Very quiet, some privacy and plenty of space for our towed. We had a concrete patio however no picnic table or barbecue, and it would have been nice to have had a covered picnic table in the New Mexico heat. There was little landscaping, a few shrubs were dead, and it certainly needed some shade trees, and there were a lot of permanent residents. The laundry and bathrooms were clean but the laundry was much too small for the size of the campground. Pet friendly with pick up bags and disposal station, but we never did find the dog park.  Wi-Fi and cell were good. There is a Walmart in Truth and Consequences and a few places to eat. The park has a good view of the mountains to the west. Unfortunately, most of the pull-through sites face east so if you have a motorhome you end up with a view of the cell phone tower, a JCB, and a tractor trailer. RV park designers really need to pay more attention to maximizing the natural beauty of their surroundings. The mountains and lake are lovely, just wish we could have seen them! The park is expensive for what it is although it seems to be the going rate for the area. There are better parks nearby so would probably not stay here again, perhaps over night, but that's it!  We camped at Cedar Cove RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a nice park with gravel everywhere, not much in the way of grass. Sites are large with concrete pad and level. Park office very neat and clean as was the park. No cable but very good local stations. Wifi was the best I have had at any campround. Would stay here again. We camped at Cedar Cove RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice, neat and clean. Spots are very large and well maintained. The bathrooms are some of the best we have ever seen in our many travels. Basically a private bathroom with sink, toilet, shower and ceiling fan. We were just passing thru on our way home, but if you go for the lake, it is a short drive. And the cell service is awesome as there is a cell tower in the middle of the park. We camped at Cedar Cove RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We have stayed here three times now. It is easy to get to, well maintained, and the folks who run it are real nice. All the sites are clean, restrooms are immaculate, and plenty of room to walk the dog. The place is covered with gravel, so when it gets windy, as NM does, the dust is mitigated to some extent. If it is close to quitting time and we're near here, we stop. We camped at Cedar Cove RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very friendly, well managed park. Easy access from I-25. Lots of space, & pull through sites. Level, gravel sites, many with concrete pad. Some of the nicest wash/shower rooms I've seen. Its in the NM desert, so no grass or trees, but close to Elephant Butte Reservoir. We camped at Cedar Cove RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Cedar Cove RV Park is just on the outskirts of Elephant Butte, New Mexico. It offers flat, gravel, pull through sites, nice bath facilities and conveniently located dumpsters. They also have a book exchange/library and free loaner DVDs. It doesn’t provide site picnic tables or on site fire pits and contrary to its advertisement, it doesn’t offer free wi-fi unless you consider $5.00 per day for Tengointernet a free service. They will be changing their web site to reflect a wi-fi charge. It has a large microwave tower in the center of the park so it is easily located. Our Verizon cell and mi-fi worked well; 101.1FM was the only worthwhile radio station we could find, and we could not pull in any NOAA radio stations to get the local weather, so Elephant Butte is kind of remote. One of New Mexico’s 10 best golf courses with restaurant ( Sierra del Sol at the Turtle Mountain Resort ) is located within 4 miles of this campground. After 1PM they offer 18 holes of golf with a cart for 35.00, so if you’re a golfer, don’t miss it. The golf course is new and doesn’t show up on the GPS, but it’s definitely worth locating and playing. Truth or Consequences (the natives refer to it as “TorC” ) is just down the road and because of it’s size it offers more dining opportunities than Elephant Butte. If camping here, the New Mexico ghost towns of Cucillo and Chloride ( search Winston, NM on your GPS to find these towns) offer some interesting history/viewing and of course downtown “TorC” has public hot tubs to try for a variety of fees. There are lots of camping opportunities in this area, and the Elephant Butte Reservoir, New Mexico’s largest lake, is the area’s big attraction. If we returned to the area we might try the state park to be on the water or Elephant Butte Lake Resort which is nearing completion. One related aside, if you travel from Elephant Butte to Silver City via Hillsboro, be aware that there are 2 bridges just west of Hillsboro that are only 12’6” high – too low for many motor homes to pass under. We found that out just in time to avoid them by going through Deming. We camped at Cedar Cove RV Park in a Motorhome.
