The owner/manager was very friendly. The park is old, but the power and cable were good. Did not use the Wifi, but had a strong Verizon signal. Pull-through sites are small and tight, but easy on and off from the expressway. Manager was friendly and helpful. No sewer hook up, but had a dump station. You could get 30 amp for $19. Overall not a bad place to overnight. We camped at Blue Spruce RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very close to I-40 but quiet. This is a small, older park but it's nicely kept up and a steal at this price! There are multiple washers and dryers available in the lobby (don't know the price to use) plus lots of brochures and useful fliers. Free WiFi (several different ones include one just installed) and cable TV. We camped at Blue Spruce RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The park is located at the start of NM53 the ancient scenic route between Grants and Zuni. There are numerous interesting places to visit nearby including El Malpais National Monument, Bandera volcano and ice caves, El Morro, and much more.

The park is old and it shows, but the power and cable were good. We had a good strong wifi connection and a pull through site. Sites are small and tight, but easy on and off from the expressway. Manager was friendly and helpful. Our site was long, gravel and as level as we needed. We camped at Blue Spruce RV Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Small park! Of the 25 spaces, 75% were long-term or permanent and if spaces 23 thru 25 were occupied, 20 thru 23 (pull-thru's) wouldn't be able to get out except by backing up.

Additionally, the park was on an access road to I-40 with the railroad crossing just passed that. The trains went thru regularly 24 hours/day and blew their whistle 3 to 7 times each time thru. Very noisy park.

No dog walking area within the park; had to walk on the side of the road or in the desert. 1 picnic table for 6 sites!

Advertised free cable: cable was very grainy.

Price included a $2.00 uncharge for 50AMP and also included tax and Good Sam discount. We camped at Blue Spruce RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The KOA is across the street and would have the same noise issues for twice the price. Owner also owns Bar S in Milan and claims that is a train quiet area without the whistle.

This park and the KOA are the closest to Bandera Volcano which is about 25 miles south

This park is best for an overnight stay as the price is right and it's close to the freeway. When you first pull in you may think OMG, however we had no issue getting our 39' fiver parked. As previously mentioned, the sites are close. They do offer cable TV which we didn't try as there was no cable connection next to our site. It appears the connections are at every other site and I didn't want to have to route a cable underneath the fiver just to get it for one night. Used the facilities once and found them to be very clean. No issues with water pressure or 50 amp electric ($2 more). We camped at Blue Spruce RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Location made for an easy on/off on the expressway. Amenities all worked well, including electric, water, cable, and WiFi. The campsites were incredibly close and the night manager on duty while we were there parked a 5th wheel towing a 4-wheeler about 5 feet in front of our doorway. Even though they were gone pretty early in the morning, I found it fairly rude considering there were two more spots open that were 20 ft further away from us. I also had to wait over an hour to pay our bill in the morning because the manager had run to the post office. This campground might be good for a one night stop over, which is what we were looking for, but I couldn't see myself coming back. We camped at Blue Spruce RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

For the price this was an OK park. Very small. First site we were given we couldn't fit into. We are 40 feet with 4 slides; the second site was OK. Restroom was clean. Mostly monthlies in the few sites that they have. We wouldn't stay again but if you need just one night and have a small rig it wasn't too bad. Wi-Fi wasn't working but owner was gone for the day. We camped at Blue Spruce RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This park is located at exit 81 on Interstate 40 and is not really adequate for bigger rigs. In fact, we pulled in and were re-directed to Bar S by the manager here. Both parks are owned by the same person, offer the same amenities and charge the same rate. The manager informed us that since they had no room to expand here at Blue Spruce the owner had purchased property down the road and built Bar S to accommodate today's bigger rigs. So, save yourself a trip off the Interstate if you travel in a big rig - we are a 40 foot class A with 4 slides - and head to exit 79 and the Bar S RV Park. We camped at Blue Spruce RV Park in a Motorhome.

Small Campground, looks like Bar S and Blue Spruce are owned by same people as they share same brochure. Gravel sites, fairly level. There was train noise but not constant, but I imagine where ever you stayed in town you would get train/road noise. Our site had no sewer hook up but some may have on other side. Power and water were fine. To pull in and stay overnight it was fine although if we planned to stay longer I might have to look around for something with a fenced pet area. For 17.00 it was fine and lots cheaper than the 50.00 quoted for the KOA which was about 500 yards down the road. We camped at Blue Spruce RV Park in a Motorhome.

This a good overnight site. The sites are a little narrow with slides. When we were finally parked, our door looked out at neighbor's sewer hook up. Have no idea if the Wi-Fi worked, as the clerk did not give me the security code. And I forgot to ask. There is noise from the railroad. Close to the freeway. We have stayed here in the past. We camped at Blue Spruce RV Park in a Motorhome.

Small park with everyone packed in real tight. For late arrival, we were told to pick a spot and settle up in the morning. Located right off I-40, but our GPS led us to the wrong place, a half mile away. Could hear train and highway noise in the night, but not enough to disturb. The owners were very friendly. WiFi was good. There was one shower in each bathroom. We stayed one night. We would use this park again for a quick stop. We camped at Blue Spruce RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice friendly check in. Our price reflects 3 people and tax. The sites are long and level but close together. I would stay again if in the area. Its just all gravel and dusty but okay for a stop over. Without my hearing aid in I did not hear any noise. The Wi-Fi and cable worked good. We camped at Blue Spruce RV Park in a Motorhome.

More like a small rest stop on the edge of the road, but very clean with friendly and proud staff. It's an overnight stop and does a fine job of being that. We camped at Blue Spruce RV Park in a Motorhome.

This RV park is basically a subdivided gravel lot. Pull through sites are more than adequate in size. Right next to RR tracks and trains will interfere with sleep. However, the price is right. OK for overnight stopover. We camped at Blue Spruce RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

$12.75 (not the $10 listed in the Escapees book) + tax, just over $14. The sites are close together, but we (just) had room to put our slides out. Good cable TV. We pulled in around 3:00 pm and by 4:30, the sites were full (at the end of Sept.). Not much to look at, close to the road so a bit noisy, but OK for an overnight. Train noise. We camped at Blue Spruce RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
