For an overnight campground I have to give this one a really high rating. Easy checkin, super friendly and funny people...read their rules..they are a hoot. Easy to navigate with a big rig, nice wide sites. They have ROOM SERVICE for RVs...inexpensive and good. We had the barbecue plate and the turkey dinner brought to our door. Very nice. I LOVE their walking trail loop that meanders out thru the desert and volcanic walk, very good place for dog walking. Site was dead level. We camped at Grants / Cibola Sands KOA in a Motorhome.

We loved this RV Park. Nothing fancy, but clean and friendly. We only stayed one night, but will return for three additional nights on the way home to see the local sights. The best thing is, they cook dinner each night and deliver it to your site. Can't beat that after a long road trip. Full turkey dinner and homemade pie and ice cream the night we were there, but other choices. No highway noise and easy in and out. Staff was very friendly. We camped at Grants / Cibola Sands KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Check in was quick and easy. Even got cookies! Nice wide sites for an older KOA. We just fit in our pull through site. A bit of freeway and train noise throughout the night. They have dinner service on site which they will bring to your rig. We took advantage of it. Seemed like most people in the park liked that amenity. Fenced in dog area was nice for the pooches. The staff all go out of their way to be helpful. We loved the lava rock and the Guest Service Guide for the rules were down right funny, we kept them! Good internet too. We camped at Grants / Cibola Sands KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed three nights to do some local hiking / visiting historic natural sites, etc. Small? 49 well spaced sites. Older yes. But kept up so well and so clean. Free breakfast was fine - basic, yes, but fine - - with clean table(s) area. Owners were wonderful and went more than the extra mile for us with some 5th wheel issues and other things. We camped at Grants / Cibola Sands KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We were here for El Morro and hiked the beautiful loop once again. El Morro is so special............the hike along the top fabulous and the views outstanding. We also went to the Ice Cave and Volcano. The ice cave is a once in a lifetime thing to see. And the shop and people there were fantastic.

This is a simple campground with hands down the best owners! Super friendly, cookies and dog treats upon arrival! Easy to find and easy to navigate with plenty of room to maneuver our 40' fifth wheel and dually. I wish we would have stayed for a few more days as this is a hidden gem. Long, level gravel pull thru sites. Everything worked well and we had no issues whatsoever other than our stay was too short! They also have a meal service providing a fantastic turkey dinner delivered right to our camper! We will most certainly be back!! We camped at Grants / Cibola Sands KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

One of the best receptions we have received at any campground. Great customer service and fresh cookie at check in. Free breakfast and a home cooked meal for purchase that you order in person or by phone and it is hand delivered to your site. As for the campground it is basic but well kept. We were here for 2 nights and campers filled the park each night. Wifi and cable worked very well. The trains could be a problem but we have gotten use to them traveling the southwest. We would stay again. We camped at Grants / Cibola Sands KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

The long ride to El Morro National Monument is well worth the views if you take the 2 mile hike loop to the top of the mountain.

Small CG conveniently located next to the interstate. Friendly staff. Continental breakfast included in the rate, but nothing special; I passed. Restrooms are getting old and funky. Dog friendly with lots of room to walk a leashed dog, as well as a small fenced area to let Fido run. OK for one night, but a little pricey despite the free cookie. We camped at Grants / Cibola Sands KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This was a very average/fair KOA. It was a little pricey in my opinion - for a gravel/dirt site and the bathrooms were not up to my liking. The shower stall was SMALL (I am not a huge person) and difficult to turn around in with the shower curtain right up against me as I showered. Nowhere to put shampoo, soap. The bathrooms need to be updated BAD! They were however, clean. The gentleman at check in was nice and helpful - and we got welcome cookies. There was a continental breakfast (very basic) included in the rate which was adequate. There were about 3 trains that passed by that night which might be a problem for some people. The campground was practically deserted which was nice. We camped at Grants / Cibola Sands KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Easy to find off I-40. Friendly staff. Small park overall but very level everywhere. All sites are pull thru. Hot meals and continental breakfast available & cookies at checkin! Only issue are the trains late at night. A bit pricey for an all gravel park. But great for an overnight or two. We camped at Grants / Cibola Sands KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed here a few years ago and this park is still nice. We had a level, gravel, pull through, FHU site with 24 channel cable TV. This describes most of the sites in the park. There are also about 10 tent sites, a few W&E only sites, and 3 cabins. Most of the RV sites appear to be satellite friendly. Because of all the non-sewer sites, the bath and shower facilities are not adequate. I think the laundry was 6 machines and a bit expensive because it took 2 dryer cycles to dry a load. This KOA does not have the typical Recreational facilities. There is no pool of playground. There is a short walking path through an adjacent lava field. The WIFI worked OK until it got dark when everybody (all the RV sites were taken) in the park got on the internet. From looking at the menu, I thought the dinner items were a bit expensive. There is a free continental breakfast in the morning. I saw no sign of recycling. The staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful. For me, the cost was the big negative. We camped at Grants / Cibola Sands KOA in a Motorhome.

Excellent KOA located convenient to I40. Staff is excellent and the friendliest staff we've encountered at a KOA all summer. Sites are mainly pull through and are very roomy and easy to maneuver. As a plus they offer free breakfast! Separate fenced dog park is in good shape and convenient (a big plus for us). Would definitely stay here again. This campground is very open and pretty bare but a couple of sites have trees. However the staff makes up for anything lacking! There are even home baked cookies when you check in. Sites are level and easy to access. A lot of this area is in an old lava flow and the campground has a nice trail around it to see the lava. We camped at Grants / Cibola Sands KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Very friendly hosts, clean facilities, wide pull-throughs. A good dinner was delivered to our RV for a reasonable additional charge. Close to I-40, but far enough away to be relatively quiet. Somewhat exposed to the wind. More than adequate as a brief respite from the road. We camped at Grants / Cibola Sands KOA in a Motorhome.
