This is a small but very pretty city park in impeccable condition. It's located next to a day use picnic area and across from the municipal golf course, several miles outside of town. It is very quiet and dark at night, due to the location. It is landscaped beautifully. The sites are located as spokes around a large circle, making them very spacious and affording a lot of privacy. A few of them have covered shelters. We camped at Harry McAdams Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a great bike/walking trail that goes all around the golf course, and then continues on all the way into town.

This little city park campground is a great deal if you need a place to stay in the Hobbs area. There are 15 sites, all full hookup, for $18/night (only $90 per week). Half of them have nice concrete shelters with a picnic table. The rest don't have a shelter or table, but most of them have a gravel pad next to them where you could park a tow/towed vehicle. Seems like it would be very big-rig friendly. There is a restroom, but you need a code to get in and there is only a self-pay station. I suppose you have to ask the host for the code but I didn't need to use it so didn't bother. The sites are long, asphalt, and have a good amount of space between them. It's all open country though, so no trees or bushes for shade or privacy and the wind was blowing pretty strong while we were there. They even have free wi-fi that worked well part of the time, not so good other times, but there's good Verizon service. There were only five other campers there, but it was midweek Christmas week, so I would expect the place probably fills up in season and I don't think they take reservations. We would definitely stay again if we were passing through the area. We camped at Harry McAdams Campground in a Truck Camper.

The park was mostly empty while we were there. The wifi seemed to work just fine. The restrooms and especially the showers were not cleaned often. The park is beautiful and the campground is within walking distance to a nice playground, disc golf course, and park, and even seniors/kids fishing ponds. We camped at Harry McAdams Campground in a Travel Trailer.

What a pleasant surprise: A peaceful oasis from the hustle and bustle of Hobbs, a modern oil boom town. The small campground in is a large city park with spacious sites, level, paved pads and full hookups. The water spigot at our site was quite a ways from the pad (about 30 feet), but we had plenty of hose. Free wifi worked well and there was good over-the-air TV. We'll definitely stay there if we travel through Hobbs again. We camped at Harry McAdams Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Good, small campground with a reasonable price adjacent to golf course & park. Park is located approximately 3 miles north of Walmart on Lovington Hwy. The RV park, city park, & golf course are watered and green so they are like an oasis in the desert! We camped at Harry McAdams Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Construction was being done on the roof of the building where the Wi-Fi internet connection was therefore there was no Wi-Fi available. Verizon internet does not work in the Hobbs area. They don't take reservations and we were unable to reach them by phone. However, we have stayed there 3 times and had no trouble finding a space. Since we had full hookups we did not use their restroom. There is a nice pond a short walk from the camping area. The ducks love to be fed. Walmart is less than 5 miles away. In the summer, drag racing is close by and can be noisy, but they shut down at 10:00 p.m. We camped at Harry McAdams Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

A quiet and very clean state park, on the honor system with full hookups (no cable), plus free, fast Wi-Fi internet. Nice level spaces with bbq grill and half of the spaces have a covered area for the picnic table. It's far enough out of Hobbs that the stars are very clear at night. We will definitely stay here again when in the Hobbs area. Just passing through and here for one night this trip. We camped at Harry McAdams Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is an oasis in the desert, and one of the best places we have stayed in New Mexico. Pristine grounds, green grass, there's a concrete picnic table inside a covered cabana at each site. Sites are large and far apart. A regular RV park would put four sites in the space you have here with one. Plenty of trash receptacles nearby. There is a campground host, although the payment is on the honor system. The bathroom area has just been remodeled. It was a pleasure to wake up to birdsong and jackrabbits in the morning. Much recommended. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Harry McAdams Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice small city owned campground with host on site. About a third of the sites have an adobe shelter with a table and grill. Some trees. Very quiet. Almost empty when we stayed there. We camped at Harry McAdams Campground in a Motorhome.
