Although we made confirmed reservations almost a month in advance, and arrived at the campground mid-afternoon, we were not able to get the 50amp full hook-up pull thru that we reserved. We were told that we were switched out because we were only staying one night. In order to get a 50 amp site we had to take a back-in site on a hill that was not level. We had to put blocks under the front wheels to make ground contact after the levelers lifted the coach front to level it. The site was also too short causing our coach to stick out into the road, making it almost impassable. We did get free dinner tickets to make up for it, but I would have preferred our reservation be honored or told that it only secured a site and not a particular one. To add insult to injury, the roads were dirt, narrow, and rutted. The layout of the park was such that it was difficult to discern between a site driveway and a thru road. This is not a park I would return to. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Motorhome.

Road to this park is extremely rough, luckily it is short. Nice views, large area. Even though close to I-25, not too loud. Gravel sites, dog park fenced in, but just rock, lots of weeds, lots of burrs.

Park needs some TLC, run down and the pull-throughs are a little short. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Go see Fort Union, 25 miles away. On the Sante Fe trail and worth the trip.

They also allow dogs in the area on leash, but snakes are all over, so be careful.

I found the interior roads to be very rough. Site was fairly level. Needed 50 amp extension to reach box. The restrooms were clean at the usage site but there were artificial plants that hadn't been cleaned in a long time as were other areas of the restroom. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We stay here on our way to southern New Mexico. This KOA is actually at the Romeroville exit, not in Las Vegas, but five miles south. It is nice, lots of trees, and fairly level sites. Only needed one inch side to side and the tongue jack took care of the front to back. But this is NOT the place for your dog. The grounds are full of cockleburs and other sticky things that get in your dog's fur and you have to dig or cut them out. Cell service is good and off-air TV works, too. You'll have to place your dish just right as the place has lots of nice pinon and western spruce trees throughout. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Friendly owners. Closed sign was on the door but they opened as I walked up at 3. I had no reservations but no problem. We were in pull thru #4. Very level with no issues. They agreed to take a package to mail in town. Narrow paved road off of I-25. Would stay here again if in the neighborhood. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Motorhome.

The owners of this place couldn't be any nicer. But I did not see a level site. The 50 amp sites are ok but we take 30. It was difficult to disconnect the toad as it was on an uphill slope. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Tip for dog owners. This place is covered with "goats head" burrs. These were especially pernicious as they have fine fine pickers similar to a cactus. Dog took one step and froze with pain. All paws were lousy with burrs. What a mess!

I am not a fan of KOAs but I do like this one. Yes it is on the side of a hill but there are plenty of trees and more privacy than the average parking lot KOA. It is cheaper than most KOAs. The road in is rough but that is not the fault of the park. Goatheads are part of NM. I have never gotten into them at this park but they are a pain especially to dogs. We have never had trouble getting level but we have a smaller trailer--20 feet. The owners are fine people. In the summers the husband who is a chef prepares meals.
This is a small KOA. They do store trailers on a short term basis. We have stored our here twice. We never make reservations and have never had a problem getting a site. This is not a destination site but is a great overnight. The one problem is the dump. Make certain you get sewer. The dump is not properly designed and is difficult to hitch up to without a sewer hose extension. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Nice clean park. We camped here the last part of April and cool weather was setting in. No problems with hookups. Our two small dogs loved the fenced in pet area where they could run free without worry about cactus. We arrived early and although the office was closed our reservation and site information was taped to the front door. Site was level for 5th wheel but truck was starting a downhill trek. We would definitely stay here again if ever in the area.
One of the hidden secrets of this campground are the home made burritos that are made fresh and delivered to your site. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This was our fifth stay at this park, but our first stay in 2years. It is a good distance from our big house. We noticed some deterioration in the park; sites not as level as in the past, signage showing some wear. Could be the time of year. Service still friendly and good, maybe better than in the past. We would stay here again.

Lot spacing was spacious with some shade. Site surface was gravel and features a picnic table. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Laundry room was clean and machines all worked. Checked in via the night drop even though we arrived around 3:30.

Get supplies before you arrive, not much here other than the campground and their little store does not have much. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Motorhome.

Hookups were all good. Clean park. There was a nice view from our site. Not many people here on a cold December night. As others have mentioned there are goat head stickers so be careful if you have a dog and some areas seemed to be worse than others. Nice park though and we would stay here again when passing through this area. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Motorhome.

We had a good 50 amp site with solid electric, the park was easy to access and our site was level. Staff was very friendly and check-in was easy. The negatives were low water pressure, wifi that we couldn't access, weak Verizon data and weak Verizon cell signals. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

The people here are very nice. Some sites are fairly level; others are very unlevel. There was a nice swing, a table, and a fire pit at our site. We were told at check-in that we wouldn't need to use our water regulator because the water is gravity fed. We didn't realize that meant the water pressure would be very low. Laundry was very clean and has 4 washers & 4 dryers ($2 each). We enjoyed our stay here. The only problem we encountered was the cockle-burrs that clung to our shoes. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Motorhome.

Try the monkey bread at Pedro's Bakery on Grand Street in Las Vegas. Very good for breakfast. Their other baked goods are also excellent.

The park is on a hill. Some of the sites are level and easy to get in and out. Others are difficult and uneven. The water pressure is very low, however the electric is good. It is a woods setting and parking among the trees gives a sense of privacy. The people are friendly and are working on the park all the time we were at the park. We would stay again, but would pick a different site. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Very rough and narrow access road. Tight turns in park. Office only open in morning and late afternoon but our reservation with site number was in the door. We had electric problems (50 amp was out) so had to wait until office was open for fix. Nice setting and very quiet. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Motorhome.
