.We were in site 48. We were only staying one night, but we had to unhook the car so we could maneuver the RV enough to get level. We were here a few years ago. At that time we were in one of the sites in the front. Those sites, sites 1 through 7, are much more level. Our site was mostly dirt with some gravel in it. When it rained, the whole park was muddy. Needless to say, we were not happy and will probably not be back. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Motorhome.

Good spot; however, leaving was a challenge. Interior roads in horrible shape due to huge ruts and trees in exit path. Didn't plan on going "off-roading" in my 41.5 ft motorhome.

Spacious lots with a sunny/open exposures. Site surface was gravel and featured a fire ring and picnic table. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Motorhome.

I can't believe I paid $40 for a W/E even with the discount. This place is a mudhole when it rains, which apparently is does a lot. Sites are tight and not level. Many seasonal units, although I can't imagine why. I wonder if the health department ever checks their "food service?" We walked by and decided to pass. Lots of highway noise; could hear it over the white noise on my phone right next to my head. On the positive side, the gentleman checking us in was very nice and helpful. We would never come back. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Truck Camper.

We are stuck. This park is half way from where we live to where we are going in both directions, out and back, so we have little choice. This is a tired old campground that gets worse every year we stay there. It is quiet and pretty to camp among the pinon pines, but the sites are not level! We stayed in one going and it was off at least three inches front to back. We stayed in a different one coming back and it was off 3 inches side to side. They have put down new gravel in about four 50 amp spaces and one road. It is made from fractured rock (angular, not round) which is hard to walk on and hard on the dog's feet. You don't take a shower, you take a dribble as there is very poor water pressure. WIFI is iffy and goes on and off and very slow when it does work. The store was poorly stocked with one old mayonnaise jar and salad dressing from last summer and three cans of soup. The owner is nice but uses too many excuses why her service is bad. Blames it on her husband's health. She should hire help! The entrance is narrow and if more than one RV is waiting to check in, traffic can't get out. The bathroom is clean but outdated, with paint patches here and there. I really wonder how KOA keeps the franchise there. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

That Giant brand gas station and convenience store across the interstate is a real dump! Half the gas pumps don't work and if you're pulling a trailer you need to use the far right set of pumps as there is very little room between the pumps and parking for the store. Too tight for any trailer over 15" in length. Las Vegas doen't have any large gas station with lots of room, as far as I could see. We did find another dump on the main road through LV and it was worse than the Giant.

We arrived mid day and the servive was excellent. The owner was sorry that they have to open a little later in the morning but that was not a problem for us. The campground does seem a little older and made for smaller campers. Sites are long enough but close to your neighbor. They are working on improvements like a little fenced in sitting area with a table next to the site and they were adding crushed stone to some internal roads. It is very hilly and the roads are narrow so you have to go slow. It is close to I25 but it was very quite all day. We were there 3 nights which was just enough to see everything in and around town. We would stay again. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Spent 3 nights at the Las Vegas NM KOA in our small Class A motorhome. They could use a few more prominent signs to help customers find their way. We missed the turn coming off the highway 84. The signs are so tiny and difficult to see. The main office looked a bit tired and could use a bit of tidying up. The manager was hard to find. Several times we tried to get in the office and it was locked with a sign saying the manager had to leave for medical reasons. The grounds were okay, with most sites scattered among the pinion pines. We were assigned what looked like a newer space - a flat pull-thru site on the edge of the grounds that was wide open (treeless) and very cozy with others camped on either side. Water pressure was terrible (gravity-fed). We could barely get enough to wash dishes. The winds blew so hard one night we worried about getting blown off our site (not the park's fault). Wifi was very spotty. When we left, we almost missed the exit sign to get us out of the park. It was tiny, hidden among the trees, and barely visable. The Las Vegas area is interesting and made for some enjoyable side trips. We find most KOAs, including this one, a bit pricey for what you get. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

When exiting the campground it's almost impossible to see the tiny "exit" sign amoung some tree branches - and placed where it is easy to miss. Check out the Historic Plaza and find the building with the door to fictional Sheriff Walt Longmire's Durant WY/Absaroka County offices. Charlie's Bakery & Cafe - amazing baked goods Hillcrest Restaurant - good food Drive up to Montezuma - nice scenery

Pulled in after calling, got no response back. Self-serve outside the office, but not enough maps/payment envelopes for those after us. We picked site 7, since it looked long enough for our rig and had 50-amp. Bathrooms were old, but clean. Office was staffed in the morning when we left shortly after 9. Site 7 was a very tight left turn to get out of, and had enough of a slope at the exit end that our bumper scraped quite a bit of dirt on the way out. The bumper also scraped on the hill leading down toward the office to exit the park. The park is built on a hill, as others have said, and we don't recommend arriving at this one after dark - there are too many hazards/trees/etc. You'll want to be able to see everything. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Road from I-25 to park extremely rough. Interior roads in park rough and not well maintained. Park does not give a good first impression. We pulled in at 2 pm and office was closed, although our packet was on the door. Sites are leveled out on hills and difficult to access. Overall park maintenance needs work with lots of peeling paint and rotten wood. Ok for an overnight. Small rocked, fenced area as dog area which our dog would not use. Very low water pressure. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Although we made confirmed reservations almost a month in advance, and arrived at the campground mid-afternoon, we were not able to get the 50amp full hook-up pull thru that we reserved. We were told that we were switched out because we were only staying one night. In order to get a 50 amp site we had to take a back-in site on a hill that was not level. We had to put blocks under the front wheels to make ground contact after the levelers lifted the coach front to level it. The site was also too short causing our coach to stick out into the road, making it almost impassable. We did get free dinner tickets to make up for it, but I would have preferred our reservation be honored or told that it only secured a site and not a particular one. To add insult to injury, the roads were dirt, narrow, and rutted. The layout of the park was such that it was difficult to discern between a site driveway and a thru road. This is not a park I would return to. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Motorhome.

Road to this park is extremely rough, luckily it is short. Nice views, large area. Even though close to I-25, not too loud. Gravel sites, dog park fenced in, but just rock, lots of weeds, lots of burrs.

Park needs some TLC, run down and the pull-throughs are a little short. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Go see Fort Union, 25 miles away. On the Sante Fe trail and worth the trip.

They also allow dogs in the area on leash, but snakes are all over, so be careful.

I found the interior roads to be very rough. Site was fairly level. Needed 50 amp extension to reach box. The restrooms were clean at the usage site but there were artificial plants that hadn't been cleaned in a long time as were other areas of the restroom. We stay here on our way to southern New Mexico. This KOA is actually at the Romeroville exit, not in Las Vegas, but five miles south. It is nice, lots of trees, and fairly level sites. Only needed one inch side to side and the tongue jack took care of the front to back. But this is NOT the place for your dog. The grounds are full of cockleburs and other sticky things that get in your dog's fur and you have to dig or cut them out. Cell service is good and off-air TV works, too. You'll have to place your dish just right as the place has lots of nice pinon and western spruce trees throughout. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Friendly owners. Closed sign was on the door but they opened as I walked up at 3. I had no reservations but no problem. We were in pull thru #4. Very level with no issues. They agreed to take a package to mail in town. Narrow paved road off of I-25. Would stay here again if in the neighborhood. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Motorhome.
