This park needs a good deal of work, the electrical went out a dozen times per day. We were offered a different site. The park is OK if you enjoy trains, we estimate one train per hour around the clock. We would not stay here again because of the noise. Convenient to the Salinas Pueblos. We camped at Turner Inn & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This small RV park has a mix of 30 and 50 amp sites, all gravel, and some more level than others. There's a mix of full-timers and travelers. It serves as a good base for exploring the Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument ruins. Verizon coverage was sketchy, but we were able to use our Verizon MiFi for internet. We did not use the park's internet service. Cell coverage was okay in town, but dropped off when leaving the area. Noise will be an issue for some as the town and park are along the busy train tracks. We would stay here again. We camped at Turner Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We were in Mountainair on a Sunday so many businesses were closed, however, the art coop looked like a great place to visit. Alpine Alley, 210 N Summit Ave., was also highly recommended. For geocachers, this was the closest park we could find for the Cache Across America - New Mexico cache. There are several other caches in the area in local cemeteries that are a history lesson in themselves.

Stayed one night and it was pouring when we arrived. Also full of workers putting in a fiber optics line. We did have good water and electric; sewer was available and Wifi, which we did not use. I walked around the City of Mountainair to walk the dogs, and it was quite a dump, with lots of houses falling apart. The RV Park is very small and the sites close together. It would probably be better if it were dry and the workers not there. We camped at Turner Inn & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We have stayed here several times when traveling Hwy 60 through New Mexico. This park works just fine for an overnight stay. It is conveniently located just off the highway. The office staff is friendly. The hookups all work. Nothing fancy and yes, there are trains as there will be anywhere along this route. We will return here in the future. We camped at Turner Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

OK place to stay in the area. All of our hookups worked. We only needed 30 amps since it was pretty cool. The site itself was really only a dirt and gravel lot but it was fine for our needs. We did have a big tree for shade. Lots of grassy areas to walk the dog so that was good. Trains were noisy and frequent but the whole town is along the tracks so no other options. We went to the 2 closest pueblo and enjoyed the sites. Would stay here again if we were in the area. Nice lady in the office. We camped at Turner Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Simply put, this park is shabby and neglected. All sites are back ins. It's a rectangular parking lot with different kinds of gravel or dirt. There are two 50 amp sites in the central area; both were occupied. The other four 50 amp sites were at the end. Of these, one turned out to be 30 amp and another had a "pedestal" three inches off the ground, which made it unusable. The remaining available spot did have a slightly higher pedestal we could plug into, but had no circuit breaker, and I couldn't use my surge protector (no room to plug in). Clearly, these pedestals were not complying with code. Water and sewer worked, although I could see the water level in the sewer pipe just 8 inches below the top. I knocked on wood when I dumped, but it worked. Wifi was good. There is no security; you are next to the main road with no fencing. As others said, there are trains going by across the road frequently, but ear plugs took care of the problem. If you are 30 amp, there are more sites to pick from. This was the first RV park we've stayed in for a long time where I was unsure about whether the hookups would fail or cause damage. We camped at Turner Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Not really a destination, but a good basic park to overnight in on the way. The water spigots are shared between two sites. There were only 3 campers here, so not a big deal, but might be if it were full. Staff was friendly and helpful. One word of caution: the train is right across the street and runs frequently at all hours. We enjoy this sort of thing, but the noise might bother some people. We would use this park again. We camped at Turner Inn & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed there for some time. I was almost unaware of the train track and road nearby. Staff was nice and the unremarkable park was great for a few nights because it was very clean, quiet, easy to maneuver in, and with good internet and other utilities. Not so much a destination, but a great place to chill. We camped at Turner Inn & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Bare bones campground with the obligatory train track across the road. Great Wi-Fi, stable 50 Amp electric, friendly staff, fairly clean and certainly easy in/out as it was bordering the road. Would stay here again for a one-night stop because the price is right. We camped at Turner Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This park is fine for an overnight. Trains run by constantly across the road, most do not blow their horns. Don't come here to do laundry, unless you have a towed and can go to town. They have one washer and one dryer, and it seemed to be the construction workers day to do laundry. We needed to do one load and it took us all day to get a spot. The lady at the office is very nice, but the three barking dogs that greet you were a little overwhelming. We were able to pick our 30 amp spot, but it was difficult with the set-ups. Water hoses from unoccupied sites ran to neighboring RV's. Some looked like they didn't have water spigots. Supposed to be full-hookup but not sure where the sewer was located. Gratefully didn't need it. Would probably use again for one night only, if in area. We camped at Turner Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Adequate for an overnight stop, maybe two. It is right on Route 60, with the train tracks just across the road, but surprisingly, train and highway noise really wasn’t bad. Utilities were fine, and the sites were level, but this park is not much to look at. The lady in the office is very nice, but when I asked why the sign out front said something other than Turner Motel & RV Park, she laughed and said they’ve only owned the place four years and hadn't gotten around to taking down the old sign yet. Like the town, the RV park could use a facelift and a little TLC. Mountainair could be a fabulous little art/antique destination town. It has the bones of a Madrid, NM or Bisbee, AZ, but the economy has taken its toll and most of the gorgeous little storefronts are closed. If you go, don’t miss breakfast at the Alpine Alley or some of the fascinating ruins in the area. Rate shown is PPA, but if we’d had to pay full price, we would have dropped our score a point or two. We camped at Turner Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice park and the WI-FI was excellent. The trains woke us up the first night but didn't seem so bad on the second and third night there. The sites are nice and the staff was helpful. It was a little chili here at night but refreshing mornings and plenty of sunshine while we were there. We will stay here when we head back east. We camped at Turner Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Decent spot for a couple of nights. Some train noise but no train horns. Rear located hookups not a problem if you carry extensions, I see this in a lot of higher end parks also. Spots are gravel, lots of others are as well. Friendly check in with P/A rate. They are also Escapees discount park. I'd go back. WiFi worked really well, much better than most. We camped at Turner Inn & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
