Why did I list this? If you are coming to the Balloon Fiesta and like me like to leave a little time before I have to be somewhere that has a deadline this is a good place to stop. I planned on showing up the day before I was to check into my spot at the Balloon Fiesta. If you are an Elk, you almost always can find a spot to do this. This just happens to be a great place to stop as it is close to the Balloon Fiesta park. I called them and told them I just needed a place to park and they told me there was no issue even though they do not have RV facilities. As it turned out I could see the balloons go up in the distance and drove down to the river to see them even better. We dry camped in their lot for 2 nights. I ran the generator for AC power I need for my bi-pap machine. Had a few drinks and tacos as it was taco night at the Elks. The next day did a dry run to see the best way to get into the RV President's Compound and relaxed. Checking out how to get into the Balloon Fiesta was a good idea as the signage was not all that good. Left about 9 AM to go to the Presidents Compound and arrived about 10 AM. They let us park our rig shortly thereafter even though the published check-in time was noon. - Gilbert & Gail

This park is an older trailer park close to the bosque along the Rio Grande River. The location of the park is its only redeeming factor for my stay here. I had a shaded, back in sites that was heavily treed, so a satellite dish would not function in this location. I had to disconnect my 18' car hauler trailer but adequate space was available close by at no extra fee. The RV sites are vacant trailer sites with FHU, 30A/50A services, no cable but OTA available. Because it is a very older trailer park, most residents have set up permanent sites with small, storage outbuildings. Most permanent residential sites are in need of extensive clean up, landscaping improvements and many have multiple forms of transportation, some in need of repair or disposal. Some of the trailers are in the same condition, in need of repair or disposal. My site had several neighbors with dogs that barked constantly. The park itself sits next to another trailer park in similar condition. The owner met me at my arrival, led me to my site and that was the last time I saw her. The few reasons for staying for a month was because of its location. We would ride our bicycles along the well-constructed bicycle and running paths along the Rio Grande River. You can ride for many miles in a north/south direction and feel vary safe. The park sits in a very nice neighborhood with some very expensive homes and private, gated subdivisions and compounds. The park is in very poor condition and is a very, well-established, older trailer park. The purpose of permitting motorhomes and RV's is to generate some income in the unused, trailer sites. The minimum stay is a month, no daily or weekly stays. Electric is metered so monthly fee is reflected in my camping fee and had an electric fee on top of the monthly fee of $360. As much as I really liked the location, I would not return. - kihei7
Jul 2017 - $35.00
Level sites, full hookups, close to town. Quiet, clean, good value. Indoor pool and hot tub. Only 1 shower in bath house men's room. But it worked well and was clean. Laundry machines clean. Only stayed 2 days, but it was pleasant. Not many spaces available. Many monthly renters. - Dzmrsh
Mar 2017 - $30.00
The website and even the satellite map makes this place look better than it is. It was not easy to find the office. It was at the top end of a large parking lot but no way to pull in with a motor home towing a car and then to get out. Had to park along the edge, in the street. True, a small sign said to park there. Finally signed in, we had to follow a person in a car over many many speed bumps to get to our site. The park is full of units who seem to have been here a long time, and it is messy and shabby looking. Got the feel that the owner is here just to collect the money. The one good thing to say is that there seems to be enough gravel. The really bad thing, and the thing that is #1 to most RVers is that the site is not level. It took a lot of work to get us level, and we are not inexperienced at doing this. We would NEVER stay here again. - Martee
Oct 2016 - $68.00
We were able to stay 2 nights because someone had to cancel his reservation. We were told because we took his place he would get his money back. When we called We were told only the first night they had room for us. When we got to the office 15 minutes later we asked if there was anyway to get another night then the gentleman told us someone had to cancel and were given his spot. I hope he does get his money back, that's the right thing to do. As for the park, there are many long term residents, not too much junk around their trailers. We had someone parked right by us (they looked like perm residents) with a dog that barked most of the day and was still barking when I went to bed around 8:30. All sites are pull thru. Lots are gravel (we needed boards to level trailer) with a concrete pad big enough for a couple chairs and a small table. We had a tree in our spot that had some broken limbs. (not sure tree is real healthy, I'm glad there was no wind) There is no grass anywhere I saw. Restrooms, showers and laundry are way too far to use, they are at the office building which is about 1 to 2 blocks weaving thru a manufactured mobile home park. We opted to go to a laundromat somewhere else since we have to drive. We came to see balloon festival, this was not on our schedule it was very last minute for us. If I could have gotten in I would have camped at the balloon festival in dry camping for $35.00 a night. This park was a nice alternative, we were able to see lots of balloons this morning while getting ready to leave. I felt safe and the grounds are clean. The office gentleman was very nice and even drew a map for driving to the balloon festival. - Kathy_Oregon
Oct 2017 - $100.00
We are members of Monaco International and this was rally-style dry camping at the West VIP lot just south of the launch field. Our club rate included 2 lunches, 2 breakfasts and appetizers at Social Hours. It's difficult to get into this lot unless you're a member of a group because of its location. Although we could see the balloons launching from our front window, we went down onto the field to get up close & personal. Generators are allowed except for "quiet hours" and water trucks & honey wagons could be utilized for a fee. THE place to be for Balloon Fiesta! A Balloon landed directly in front us in our Social Area between the Host Coaches! Ours was a 4-night package for $475 for the 2 of us. - monamonaco
Oct 2017 - $30.00
We stayed here for the Balloon Fiesta, rate reflects 1/2 price for night prior to fiesta. Nothing but a gravel parking lot and they pack you in. We were told that 7000 campers were in the standard lot. No hook-ups, they did have porta potties and garbage cans. Our neighbor ran their generator non stop during the hours allowed. We stayed for 4 nights and were ready to leave. But it was a perfect spot to watch the balloons. We were in the 5th row because we got there a day early. We could walk to the fiesta grounds or stay by our camper. many balloons landed right on the grounds. Fiesta museum was worth seeing. - dalebonnie
Sep 2016 - $40.00
Would recommend staying. The hostess upon arrival was polite and extremely helpful. A little road noise but really not too bad. Sites were easy in and out for our 40ft and tow. - Barbara Dyer
May 2018 - $40.00
We were looking for a short stay in Albuquerque while visiting family. This Park is mostly a Mobile Home Park, but still has quite a few RV Sites spread throughout the Park. This is the cleanest, most well kept, mobile home park we've ever stayed in. There was a laundry facility very near our spot, and the staff were very polite and helpful. We had a gravel spot, with picnic table and small tree. The entire Park streets are paved, and there is an outdoor pool available for use (we didn't use, as it had not opened for the summer). - Explorateurs
Oct 2017 - $75.00
We stayed here the last 2 nights of Balloon Fiesta. We were told when we made reservations it was within walking distance. When we arrived I asked and was told, "Oh no, it's at least 2 miles. You'll want to drive." Site was between two run down mobile homes. There was a fence along the back with barbed wire. We were greeted by two barking dogs behind us and one to the right. We also had someone hammering on a car bumper for an hour on Sunday evening right across the street. Difficult to return after the balloon festival as the road was blocked to get to the village. Had to argue with an officer and drive around barriers. - StewartsD&A
May 2017 - $15.00
Older mobile home park with sites interspersed for RV's. It is well kept, quiet, and clean. Sites are level gravel, with concrete walks and "patios". Some of the concrete is cracked and broken. No WIFI or cable. All utilities work well. Easy to get to from the freeway. Roads are wide and spaces east to maneuver into. Staff is friendly and helpful. Not "high end", but comfortable for a reasonable price. $15 based on monthly rate. - Pacatrader
Mar 2016 - $27.00
The staff was helpful and pleasant. The NEW owner even stopped by visit the first evening. He said that he is working hard to remodel and asked what we felt he should work on next.
I would certainly stay here again. It is near some shopping and things to see.
The best thing about this park is that it is QUIET. A couple of dogs were around us, but they did not misbehaved or become troublesome.
The first visual impression as you drive in could be better. The site was spacious. All the hookups worked and our personal internet and DirecTV reception were good.
The dog walk area needs improvement. - LMF
Oct 2014 - $48.00
This park is very poorly maintained with many permanent residents living there. The pull thru sites are not level and my coach strained to get level. Stepping outside your coach you will encounter a field of thorns which will stick to your shoes until you return to your coach where they will transfer to your carpet. I made the mistake of passing through during balloon week, hence the outrageous $48.00 charge. Next time I will drive another hour and skip this place altogether. - Beaver 43
Jul 2010 - $23.00
Save your money and go elsewhere. Checkin person was very helpful but the overall condition of the place is deplorable. - jc2
Oct 2018 - $31.00
Very easy. One call, no Credit Card needed. When we arrived all was exactly as booked.
Access/Big Rig Access:
Very easy right from I-40. Easy to get to the site, no sharp turns.
Very kind staff and no problems with our reservation even though they did not ask for our phone number or CC when booking.
Two sheds with bathrooms and laundry. Very clean. Propane cheaper than most other campgrounds we have visited.
Ok size, slightly close to our neighbor but ok for a couple of nights.
$31.21 after a AAA discount of 10%. Tax is added to price of campgrounds in New Mexico. Office accepts Master Card and VISA but not American Express.
If you use Apples products forget abut WiFi. Office said that the towers are not iPhone, iPad or MacBook friendly and that is true. Tries to restart my iPhone 4 times and after each restart it worked until the phone went to sleep. No luck with the MacBook at all. Seems that they had this problem for a long time but owner does not seem to care.
Almost unusable at this RV Park. Got 134kB down and hardly anything up so WiFi is what you have to rely on. Towers right outside the park is aparanetwly T-Mobile. I still see five bars on the iPhone but data and voice hardly usable.
Very nice even with another Class A moving in beside us.
$2.00 for washer and $1.50 for dryer. Room very small. Only one dryer was in working order. Very clean.
Walmart 9 minutes, Camping World 2 minutes, RV American Park is another RV-park just on the other side of the fence. - BasilFawlty
Oct 2018 - $70.00
Our favorite place to stay in Albuquerque. Clean and quiet. Close to neighbors but sites wider than lots of other places. Price per night was double the usual because of the Balloon Fiesta. Flat sites with plenty of space. Convenient to I-40. - Hartleyfam
Sep 2018 - $35.00
Just west of downtown with easy freeway access. Truck stop nearby, but it was quiet. Good staff and easy pull-through site. Excellent wifi. - Zephyrcon
Nov 2018 - $48.00
This park is probably around a 7.8 It has an older and a newer section. The newer section is on concrete pads and wider roads. But it is closer to the highway. The pull thru spots are much bigger in the new section. They have a continental breakfast. You can wash your 5th wheel there as well as your truck but you have to pay $20 and $10 to do so. - Vipermanden
Nov 2018 - $45.00
This was way more than what we needed for a night but we had some mechanical issues that needed to be addressed by the Freightliner shop across the highway so needed a place to stop. We have stayed in this area before and I made a mistake in choosing this park thinking it was where we stayed previously. It wasn't. It is a large resort and has much to offer if you are staying in the area. They were cordial but not overly friendly or helpful when it came to our situation. - tb919
Oct 2018 - $170.00
Stayed 5 nights during the annual Balloon Fiesta which is why the price is so inflated. The park is about 20 minutes away from the activities of the balloons. While the park itself is very well maintained and the staff eager to please, I cannot say the value is good which is why my rating is what it is. I will say the normal rates are well in line to give this park a excellent value. I would stay again at the normal rates. One suggestion is to move the keypad to the entry gate further out to give more room for a car. Site - level with help of jacks. Dog Park - fenced but very small for the number of sites. However, each site had a nice size area for a dog to exercise so I did not use the dog park. WiFi - good signal T-mobile - 3 of 4 bars. Electric - no issues Water - no issues Sewer - no issues Satellite - no issues. - Peter G
Sep 2018 - $48.00
We chose this park because of the convenience of being between ALB and Santa Fe. The park is clean and the two fenced pet areas are nice. There are several full timers throughout the park. The park is arranged for all pull through sites and a separate parking spot for your vehicle. - HUHA-2
Aug 2018 - $49.00
We really enjoyed this park and we are so happy we found it on this trip. It truly is the best RV park we have found in the Albuquerque area. Sites are concrete pads with paved road throughout the park. Super clean and truly amazing views of the Sandia Mountains. A quiet country setting but convenient to all shopping & city sights. The staff was very nice and helpful in the office. We will definitely stay here again. - coolplanetg
Aug 2018 - $45.00
Saw comments regarding tight for motorhome. I must say we don't have any issues with getting around including our tow that we don't unhook till parked at site. In our opinion, this is the "go to" park while in the ABQ area. People working the park including ownership will do what it takes to make you feel comfortable during your stay. Close to everything & easy on/off of I-25. Will always be here in in the area! Highly recommended. - richz
Nov 2018 - $32.00
Good value for an overnight stay. Their WIFI is barely functional, even during non-peak hours. Cute retro trailers available for rent. Very close to Hwy. 40, which makes for a lot of road noise, but easy access. - Organic1
Nov 2018 - $30.00
Long gravel pull-thru with good wifi, 50 Amp, cable tv, water, sewer, picnic table. Could have had a 30 Amp site for $17 with Passport America but opted for a 50 Amp. About midway back in the park but still some road noise. Be ready to turn the shower water cooler as it suddenly got extremely hot. No dog park and burrs are prevalent. Nice lights at each hookup and numerous security lights through out the park for taking the dogs out for their nightly potty break. Rate was with Good Sam. - Markk
Nov 2018 - $30.00
We used this little park for one night while on a trip from SC to AZ and arrived late and tired. The staff made our registration process quick, easy and efficient and very pleasant, much to my delight. We left before sun-up the next morning, so did not get to use much of the facilities other than the laundry (very clean, everything working perfectly and reasonably priced washers). NOW, the absolute BEST thing about this park, other than the very cool old antique campers available for rent, is the staff! I inadvertently left my wallet on the desk when registering and found this out the next morning, a hundred miles out on the road. I called and they said he found it. They offered to ship it to me ASAP, which thye did. They sent it to me via Fedex overnight delivery, and refused to take any payment for the effort, or cost! It arrived this evening, with everything intact. My faith in humankind has been restored....thank you! We will certainly be staying at your wonderful little park again! - BarryT
