Not much to look at. The road in and the sites are gravel and dirt. Each site has a picnic table, a bar-b-q and a small amount of dead grass/weeds. The young man that worked the office was very nice. I checked out the laundry; there are 4 washers ($1.00) and 4 dryers ($1.00). Would not stay here again as I think $39 is extremely high for what you get. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.Undo

We have stayed at this park over the years when we are passing through on our way home. It's not a bad park, just not great. It needs some maintenance like trimming trees at the entrance & some of the sites that have trees so that they don't scratch the RV's. The park is totally dirt & the only grass is along the perimeter fence. The park is ok if you need something overnight but at $35.00 for 50 amp it's overpriced since the amenities are VERY minimal. They have free wifi which is nice if you can actually pick up a decent signal. We couldn't & the park isn't very big. If it wasn't a hot August day we could have tolerated a 30 amp site but it was way too hot & we needed both AC's to keep up with the heat. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.Undo

This park has great potential. The person who checked it in was very friendly and helpful. But it's very dusty and barren. A little paving, some grass, and clean up the junky areas could make it go from satisfactory to great. Restrooms/showers were nicely maintained. Will probably stay again passing through. Nice basic park in middle of town. Have stayed here several times. Easy to get to other things in town from here. Would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Raton KOA in a Travel Trailer.Undo

Nothing great, but certainly nothing bad. Good place to stay overnight or to tour Raton area. All gravel. Sites are level. Very friendly staff. Easy access a little off of I-25. Evening ice cream social and morning pancake breakfast (in season). We will stay here again. We camped at Raton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

Easy access from Interstate. Level sites but a little dusty with wind blowing. Friendly people at check in. WiFi was useless or would have gave it a better rating. Will stay here again. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.Undo

This was a very well kept but older park. Very easy access not far off the highway but no noticeable highway noise. Like other reviews said there are restaurants within walking distance but we didn't eat out. The sites were wide and long enough for very big rigs with lots of room to maneuver. The staff were all very friendly. There is a small fenced area that is not really a dog run but they said we could use this as one if we wanted but is not guaranteed to be secure. It appears to have been at one time a deluxe RV site but hasn't been used as such in years. Everything we used worked very well and we plan to make this a regular stop when traveling this way in the future. We camped at Raton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

We have stayed here several times in our travels. The sites and aisles are roomy enough for big rigs. There is a nice fenced in dog run, and a local steakhouse within walking distance of the park. The park is clean and quiet. Not much grass, but that is the climate here. This is a good, reliable place to spend a night or two. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.Undo

Nice clean and quiet overnight stop between Denver and Albuquerque. Pull-thru site was level and all utilities, including Wi-Fi, worked fine. We would stay here again. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.Undo

This was a nice clean KOA that was not near the Interstate. The location was great for us. You can walk to a really nice Chinese Restaurant opposite the park as well as a nice grocery store and a gas station that has a Redbox for dvd rental. The owner was friendly as well as the rest of the staff. Bathrooms were clean, but had painted plywood between the stalls so could use an upgrade. This is pretty much a stop over park for a night or two. We would stay here again. We camped at Raton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

Nice park. Unfortunately, it was very muddy due to recent rains. Very pricey for the location. Staff was very helpful. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.Undo

This a nice stopover on our drive from Albuquerque to Denver. The staff was very friendly. The pull thru sites had plenty of room. The water/electric only sites aren't as spacious and they don't have cable or Wi-Fi. I would stay here again. We camped at Raton KOA in a Travel Trailer.Undo

Nice campground with large gravel level sites. Utilities well placed. Hosts are very nice and helpful. No trees and no dog park. Our second stay here and would stay again. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.Undo

Well organized for large motor homes with pull throughs. Gravel, no shade. Dog run was outer perimeter, not fenced. Available for purchase. Was pancakes and sausage for breakfast in the club house. Would stay again. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.Undo

This a fairly typical , small, KOA. It is an older facility that is easily accessible from the Interstate. The park looks old, with a permanent camper at the entrance with a tarp on the roof and a car next to it with the hood open. It is far enough away from the highway so traffic noise is not that apparent. The roads and sites are crushed gravel and are flat. Both are just a bit on the narrow side. Wires criss-cross the park. We had barely a foot of clearance under the wires at our site. Sites, mostly pull-through, had picnic tables on gravel, but you couldn't tell which table went with which camper as we were parked "nose to tail" with another camper and shared the open space. Tent sites have some grass. I could not examine the laundry or restrooms because they were still closed for the winter. There is a grassy dog walk area along the perimeter, but they do not have an enclosed run. However, there is one "deluxe" site enclosed by a chain link fence. They would not let us use it as a dog run, so I am not certain if someone camping there could have a loose pet in the area. There is a nice playground for children and horseshoe pits, but no swimming pool. Cable TV and free WiFi were adequate. Our satellite TV did get reception. This is not a top pick for us and we would probably try another park in the area the next time we visit. I am marking it down for closed restrooms, no dog park, low overhead wires and the run-down first impression. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.Undo
