When we checked in we were told the only site available was # 40 with only 30amp, no water, no sewer and no cable, but it had WiFi for $32.56 with our KOA value card...But after hook up we had NO WIFI( I called the WiFi provider and they told me two towers at front by office would not service to the back of the park......). So my complaint is that it was over priced for 30 amps...when I looked at my receipt, I saw that I had KOA credits which were not pointed out to me that I could have applied for......STILL OVERPRICED.... We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Office man was very nice and gave us one of 3 sites available, all with no water, no sewer, no cable.....and after hook up NO WIFI... The site barely fit our coach, as we had to pull way up front of the site to get the tow Jeep off of the narrow street...we had to use all of our Power cord..with a reducer adaptor from 50amps to 30amps to reach...

Overall Rating:

This is a KOA "Journey" class of park. It's meant as a stopover place to spend a night or two. This park fills that market niche well. However, if you're one of those people who gets upset driving on gravel/dirt because it will dirty your RV, just stay away since that's what this park has. Our pull-through was plenty long enough and reasonably wide. There was no privacy with the neighboring sites, but we weren't going to sit outside, anyway. There was a picnic table if we had wanted to use it. The staff in the office were friendly and we were led to our site by a worker in a golf cart. All utilities were convenient and worked well. They have one of those wifi systems where you have to get a separate login for each device you want to connect. We didn't bother; both AT&T and Verizon had decent signals here so we used our own internet sources. The park is very convenient to any of the major highways you are likely to get here via. We did have a power problem at our site that didn't begin until the park was nearly full in the evening. Our Progressive EMS system repeatedly was cutting our power off and the fault code indicated high voltage on one of the two circuits. We've experienced it before at other locations and it usually results from a floating neutral at the pedestal often resulting from loose connections in the pedestal. Since the office had closed by then, we simply switched to the 30A connection for which the voltage appeared to be normal. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.

stayed for three nights site #17 pull through The park is somewhat small around 50 sites total . The bathrooms are old and dated however very clean water was good campground very good shape. There was a problem with sewer backup (not the park's fault) Went on a bike ride when we returned all was well my hats off to the owner did a wonderful job. I would use this place again for one or two nights maximum. Most people seem to stop overnight. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.

This is an older park that is great for one or several nights to explore the region. The park is all gravel with pull through and back in sites. The pull through sites will accommodate the longest RVs and their tow vehicles without unhitching. Most sites are back to back, so they can become tight if multiple slides are out. There's a small camper store with snacks, a few RV supplies, and fishing tackle. The book exchange is located in the main building's laundry area. A second laundry area is closed for the season. Those with pets will appreciate the enclosed pet area. We will stay here again the next time we pass through the area. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.

Just a one night stay on my way to Santa Fe and beyond and will probably stay again on my way home. They were able to place me next to friends I was meeting there. Grocery store just a walk across the street. Pull thru site easy to get in and out and plenty of room between sites. We camped at Raton KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This is an older KOA camp. It does show it. The owner is very nice! There is plenty of room to maneuver one's RV. But the park does show it's age. We also did not see a severe storm shelter. We will stay here again. We camped at Raton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Typical in-city KOA. All gravel. Wi-Fi and cable both good. A welcome stop after a long day. Pet area is pretty nice. Staff very friendly. Would stay here again if travels led us this way. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.

The folks running this place were very nice. Our site was level and we did not need to unhook to stay the night. This campground is nothing special but is not horrible either. Quiet at night. Usable Verizon service. We did not use anything else for this overnight stay. We would stay again. We camped at Raton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We pull a 43 ft fifth wheel with an F350. Entry into the park was easy. Staff: are very friendly and helpful. Lanes within the park are easy to navigate for big rigs. Lanes are dirt and sites are dirt. Large trees for shade with some Grass between sites and include a picnic table. Utilities work well. AT&T cell very good. Verizon Broadband very good. Very small fenced Dog park. No Bugs This park is fine for a one night stay. We camped at Raton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an old campground. A lot of "permanent" rigs. It was okay for an overnight stay, but probably would not stop there again. The water was "dirty" and spotted the windows. The cable was poor. The internet was not usable. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.

I was given a FHU Gravel Pull-Thru for my 42' 5th wheel. Site was plenty big enough for my rig and the park is easy to maneuver in. They have cable, but I used my dish for TV and my hot spot for internet. The laundry and bathrooms are clean and up to date. There is a playground for kids and the park is close to all the services you might need. I would use this park again. We camped at Raton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is a bit rustic, which we liked. We saw some squirrels running in the part and enjoyed watching them. There is an excellent off leash dog run. Park is very clean an staff is great.
