We pull a 43 ft fifth wheel with an F350. Entry into the park was easy. Staff: are very friendly and helpful. Lanes within the park are easy to navigate for big rigs. Lanes are dirt and sites are dirt. Large trees for shade with some Grass between sites and include a picnic table. Utilities work well. AT&T cell very good. Verizon Broadband very good. Very small fenced Dog park. No Bugs This park is fine for a one night stay. We camped at Raton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

The folks running this place were very nice. Our site was level and we did not need to unhook to stay the night. This campground is nothing special but is not horrible either. Quiet at night. Usable Verizon service. We did not use anything else for this overnight stay. We would stay again. We camped at Raton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Great overnight stay. Pull thrus long enough and easy in and out. Staff was friendly. This is a small campground just off the interstate. Make reservations, several were turned away- on a Thursday night. Two restaurants within walking distance as are other amenities. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.

This park is a bit rustic, which we liked. We saw some squirrels running in the part and enjoyed watching them. There is an excellent off leash dog run. Park is very clean an staff is great. We planned on staying over one night but stayed three. The weather was great, cool nights nice days with some showers on the last day. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.

I was given a FHU Gravel Pull-Thru for my 42' 5th wheel. Site was plenty big enough for my rig and the park is easy to maneuver in. They have cable, but I used my dish for TV and my hot spot for internet. The laundry and bathrooms are clean and up to date. There is a playground for kids and the park is close to all the services you might need. I would use this park again. We camped at Raton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an old campground. A lot of "permanent" rigs. It was okay for an overnight stay, but probably would not stop there again. The water was "dirty" and spotted the windows. The cable was poor. The internet was not usable. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.

Stayed just one night - we were on a mission. Normally stay 3 nights to explore. After talking to the owner during check-in we realized how much we were missing and made a promise to ourselves to return and stay longer. The owner probed our interests and then offered several suggestions for kayaking, hiking and exploring. His advice was truly the most detailed and informative of any camp stop we have made (in two years). The campground is all gravel, and the pull-through spots were extra long and easy in and out. Not the prettiest place we stayed, but provided for all our needs. We will be back. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We went to Sugarite State park and hiked - three beautiful trout lakes and lots of hiking trails. Saw fox, turkeys, blue heron and a rare flicker...all in about 3 hours. There is a nearby extinct volcano that can be climbed and you can see 5 states from the top. This is an outdoor place!

A very basic, no frills, quiet campground far enough from the highway to avoid any noise. Packed gravel access roads and sites with some grass between the sites and a few trees (mainly around the edges and in the tent area). Sites are mostly level. Power ok, water ok (70psi), sewer ok. Campground wifi had no internet connection so unable to evaluate. TMobile 2 bars, did not check speed; Verizon 5 bars LTE, good speed. We would stay here again. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.

Stayed overnight. Very clean showers and restrooms. Didn't use laundry, but it looks well maintained. Easy in and out, pull thru was fairly level and long enough for a big rig with a tow car. The entire park is gravel, but it seems to be well maintained, no big dips or holes. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a KOA Journey park, meaning most of the campers are overnighters. We have stayed here many times, as it's the halfway point between Denver and Amarillo. It's not fancy, but it's fine. Everything works. We camped at Raton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an older, no frills KOA. It is good enough for an overnight stay. They do charge $2 for each person over 2. The pull thrus are long gravel sites. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Cable TV was fine. Be sure to visit Solano's Western Wear in town. Very personable owners (for 60 years)who will tell you about the cowboy hat cemetery in their store. Nearby Sugarite Canyon State Park is worth a visit. Hiking trails and nice, small visitor center.

The park is nothing special, really just a place to set up camp while traveling thru Raton, NM. The interior roads and sites are gravel, some dust will be created if other campers drive fast thru the park, I found this to not be a big problem. They have a very nice office and small store. The bathroom and showers were clean including a nice laundry facility. The owner operate the park, they are very friendly and helpful. We stayed here 4 days in our 40 foot class "A" motorhome. We enjoyed the free WIFI (worked great). The Historic Town of Raton is just down the street about one mile. There are Plenty of food choices in the area. We would stay again. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Driving lanes are huge and easy to navigate with a big rig. Wifi was extremely flaky and thus unusable. There were a lot of streetlights in the campground which I suppose is for security, but it made it difficult to sleep without hanging towels over all the bedroom windows and shutting interior doors. I would only stay here for an overnighter (which is what we did). We camped at Raton KOA in a Travel Trailer.
