Nice state park, covered picnic table and well located FHU utilities. For just one night this is a bit away from attractions. During our stay the wi-fi was super fast and stayed fast for our two day stay, it rained a lot but our site was high and dry. Very quiet - no trains, planes or highway noise. If towing or you are very long I recommend going straight at the first sign. Lower level road VERY twisty turny and anything longer than 45 foot might have problems. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Take the private UFO tour. At $100 for two it sounds pricey - in the end it was well worth the money.

This park is located 30 mins from Roswell. It is very quiet and remote (which we like for a change of pace). We reserved a full hookup site, and all utilities worked well. We had a clear shot of the sky for satellite, and the Verizon signal was pretty strong. There is free WiFi here, which was a pleasant surprise and it worked well. The biggest lake in the park is right by the campground, and you can swim in it. We took a hike along the Bluff Trail from the campground to the Visitor Center, and got to see all the lakes except for the lagoon, which is in a different area in the park. Very relaxing stay. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Motorhome.

Bottomless Lakes State Park is about 12 miles from Roswell. Getting here is GPS challenged once you get on Bottomless Lake Road. GPS tip is to just keep going on Bottomless Lake Road and you'll eventually get to the campground. Your GPS might want you to turn once or twice before you get to the campground, just ignore it. The campground has 6 full hookup sites, some tent sites, and a number of water and electric sites, all with 30amps. Some sites can be reserved and some are first come first served. The interior roads and sites are gravel. The hookups are convenient. There are some trees but we had a good line of site for our roof mounted satellite dish. This campground has some of the longest pullthrus we have ever seen. We would stay here again because it is so scenic and we have more to see in Roswell. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We had booked a site without sewer hook-up online but took a first-come site with hook-up when we arrived. The campground hosts were very nice and helpful. There is free wifi which was excellent, at least from our site. The only negative is that a group pavilion sits in the middle of the campground and on a Friday night there was a group with 7 tents and many adults and children camped there. The noise level was not outrageous for a group of this size but was impactful to the whole campground. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Great little state park. Extremely reasonable price for water and electric, but be aware there is a $10/night surcharge for a second vehicle if that's your case. The campground is well laid out and very suitable for big rigs (most sites). Accommodations vary from 50-amp FHU to dry camping. All sites are well spaced, level and just a short distance from Lea Lake's beach, the largest of the bottomless lakes. Nice visitor centre, complete with explicative displays about the origin and nature of the lakes. Nice wetlands trail at the south end of the park and a 3-mile hiking/mountain-biking trail at the north end. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The camp host at this state park is fantastic, very friendly and helpful. The interior roads of the campground could have used more gravel. The site was level which was nice. We were here during the winter season so not as much going in, visitor center closed. The reason for the rating of 7 is the state park was only so-so, we thought there might be more to do and the park area had trash scattered in many spots. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Needed a stop over between Carlsbad and Albuquerque and this fit the bill. The pros: Great value for $19 (50 amp full hookups). The free WiFi was excellent. The lakes are beautiful. Close proximity to Roswell for activities. Good roads, easy to navigate. The cons: Stickers everywhere tearing up the dogs paws. Worst I have ever seen. The smell...cow pasture smell when the wind is blowing the right way. A few days later I'm still smelling it on my stuff. Overall this does the job for a few days but nothing special. I would not go out of my way to every come back here due to the smell and stickers. Like someone else mentioned, stay straight on the road to the campground (ignore the sign). It's a lot less bumpy that way. Check google maps to see what I'm talking about. Site accessibility (Easy in/out, roads good, long drive in) - 4 Campground location (30 minutes to Roswell) - 3 Nearby amenities (Shopping fairly close by in Roswell) - 3 Site Privacy (Decent sized sites, no privacy) - 3 Campground amenities (Bathrooms were clean, dump onsite) - 4 Dog friendly (Dogs allowed everywhere but stickers were terrible) - 2 Activities (Short hiking trails around camp. Mountain bike trail at entrance to park) - 3 Cost ($19/night for 50amp full hookup) - 5 Staff friendliness (Not particularly friendly) - 3 Connectivity (Great signal w/out a booster for both AT&T and Verizon. Excellent free WiFi. ABC and other random OTA) - 4 Total rating = 3.4. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Motorhome.

We boondocked at Pasture Lake location and it was GREAT wishing with Grandkids. (wanted to fish at Devils Inkwell but holy cow! there is NO way you would DARE let grandkids loos there as it is nearly a sheer cliff to go down!)

We had a great time but the only (really serious) issue was the unbelievable amount of stickers (goatheads) with even two steps outside. They were tracked in with dogs and shoes.

We'd definitely go back as a stop over on a trip or an additional time after Carlsbad. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Motorhome.

Where else can you get electric/water hookup and free wifi for $14? Not too many places, I suspect. This is a nice state park, well off the main road and so very quiet at night. The bathrooms were decent (showers are free!) but in desparate need of a good cleaning. Also, there are only grills and no fire pits. If not for the dirty bathrooms and lack of fire pit, I would have rated this place a 10. That said, I would stay here again. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is one of our favorite places to swim and to enjoy the migration of birds. Unfortunately, the Lea Lake campground is not one of our favorite campgrounds. Like many other New Mexico State Park campgrounds it is in need of loving care. During our stay the houseflies were horrendous. It must be a seasonal thing or poor sanitation. We have been here before during October and each time we had hundreds of flies on the Motorhome. Park staff like to indicate the restroom was clean by marking down the date and time it was clean. Doing so does not actually make the restroom clean. Restroom conditions are terrible and appear to be in need of a massive professional cleaning service. They have been neglected for months. For mysterious reasons the day use area restroom was closed on October 17. The campground restroom became the only usable restroom in the park. Simple household metal trash cans are utilized here for trash. Raccoons go through them every night and litter the surrounding area with trash. Park staff does not always pick-up the trash. There were a couple of campground host units on site. During our week stay we didn't see them doing anything, but drive around on carts.

There is Wi-Fi here and it actually works well at certain times of the day. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Motorhome.

Pulled in without a reservation and treated very well with a choice of pull-through electrical and water, on Fathers Day.

Getting to this state park involves many winding curves but all were acceptable for our truck and trailer. Very popular lake for locals including rental boats. We arrived late in day so we spent no time in the water.

Getting here is "out of the way" but a value for the cost.

Our stay was for one night only. If in area again, we will strongly consider returning. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Bottomless Lakes SP is about 10 miles east of Roswell, and then south along about 7 miles of paved roads, one at the base of a long abrupt ridge, and the better road on top of the ridge. At the base of the ridge there are 7 pothole lakes. Lea lake is the second largest and is the most southern where the CG is located. The lake is beautiful and the eastern cliffs rugged and impressive. By Lea lake there is a large semicircular pavilion/bath house and a large day area which during our stay was filled with some sort of a RV group rally. The campground is level with 2 loops well graveled with a shelter at each. 26 electric/water, 6 sites electric/water/sewer, and 3 no hookups. Two bathhouse, very clean with hot water. One dump. We had no bugs. It was a quiet pretty stay overnighter for us. Would stay there again. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Motorhome.
