Sites are level, shadeless, with little/no privacy between sites. Electric/water OK. Camp hosts were great-very welcoming and pleasant. Parks has a visitor center and a few short trails. Flies and misquitoes were on the bad side. Verizon and ATT signal good. Campground offers open WiFi that proved adequate for reading news, etc. Campground offers water/electric only. Lea Lake is small and brackish. The town of Roswell is larger than I thought it would be and a good place to find services and stockup. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nice state park. During the summer, my guess is it's very busy as it has a nice swimming area with a concession stand. Our site was a pull-through and easy to navigate. Some of the sites have sewer, but I believe those are all back-in sites. Our rig is a 40' 5th wheel and we did not have to unhitch. The site was very long. There is a nice playground and a newly installed dump station. When you drive into the park off the main road, about a mile or two in you'll come to a sign that indicates that you turn right for the campground however...if you keep going straight it's closer with fewer turns. Having said that, we did turn right at the sign and made it in fine. But if you have a long rig and are concerned...just go straight at that sign. Improvement needed with the park staff. They were no where to be seen, but their sites were marked and they were a little messy. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Once you get to the RV site, it was beautiful. Getting to the park and reservations is another story. Toll free number tells you there are no reservation sites available and to call the local park phone number. Tried that number for 3 days, at least 30 calls. It was either busy or got voice mail, but I did get lucky once. The host who answered the phone told me that there were 4 sites available but you can't make reservations. We arrived an hour later. The camp "host" was horrible. Very short with us and rude. Once we got to our site, we enjoyed it. Stayed 2 nights. Beautiful lake. We got cell and WiFi service because our site was right next to the "WiFi zone". We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Nice but remote state park located 15 miles outside of downtown Roswell. When you finally see the campground, it looks like a desert oasis in the middle of nowhere! We stayed in site 6, a back-in site in the Lea Lake loop which had full hook-ups. There are 13 reservable sites (4 of which have full hook-up and 50 amp service), and 26 water/electric (30 amp) sites that are first-come-first-served. There are a handful of pull through sites throughout, but the majority are back-ins. Interior roads are paved and easy to navigate, however the loop to get out is very tight for big rigs (please see previous reviewer's post to avoid). All of the sites are gravel and level for the most part, with a covered picnic table and barbecue pit. The campground is right next to Lea Lake, which is quite beautiful with blue water and a sandy bottom. There is also a large recreation building (with concession areas, although closed for the season) and bathrooms, along with a nice swimming beach (very refreshing and clean!). The bathroom/shower area in the camping area was large and relatively clean. There were four toilets and three showers (push button type) separated by a sink area. When we arrived, the camp host came out to greet us and even offered assistance to back-in our site (site 6 is a little tricky to get into). The area was extremely windy with blowing dust, so we were unable to enjoy anything outdoors during our stay. We were able to get about 20 Over The Air channels and Verizon service was good. We would stay here again if we were in the area. Rate was $18 per night with a $12 reservation fee. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We took the advice of other reviewers, going past the first sign into the park to get to the Lea Lake Rec Area (to avoid the twisting road) and also directions posted when coming from the south. The International UFO Museum is about 20 minutes away and is worth a visit. They also give a military/veteran discount. Walmart and Sam's Club are next to each other about 25 miles from the campground. There's lots of shopping and dining options in Roswell.

This was a hidden jem of a park. Yes you drive back for 7miles thinking "where am I am going" and then you are at this lovely park next to awesome cliffs and beautiful little lake. We loved this place. Some of the back-in's have sewers hook-up's but for an overnight we just had a pull-though. Nice walking for the dogs too. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The way the sites are situated, you hardly see your neighbor. The area is quite barren, but the lakes are beautiful. If you have a big rig, check with the host on the easy way to get out of the park--another RVer got stuck taking the road by the lake. It's better to go the opposite way (host will describe). Our site was back-in, but there were a few pull-throughs in the park as well. Beautiful dry-camping is available near the other sinkholes. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Booked online, so wasn't sure what to expect, but what a lovely, lovely spot! Large level gravel spot with partial view of the lake, new covered concrete picnic table, charcoal grill and patio. Room for the tow dolly and toad on the pad next to coach. We had Lea Lakes spot #5 with 50 amp, sewer and great tasting water with pretty high pressure. The best surprise of all-FREE SCREAMING FAST WIFI. Better than anywhere we've stayed, actually. Pretty little lake with beach, swimming area, stone picnic pavilions and what looks to be a concession area. Must be crowded during summer season. Showers were closed for Winter but we are self contained so wouldn't have used them anyway. Nice areas to walk the dogs, very dark at night and quiet. NOTE: We came from the South and GPS took us off the highway and through 30 miles of narrow bumpy roads and dead dusty little towns. Getting off 285 onto 2 we darn near scraped off our leveling jacks on a bermed train track. Coming in this way we could not imagine a state park being out here and were getting concerned about what we might find. What a lovely surprise! If coming from the South, take 285 into Roswell, then East on 380 and South on 409; great roads the whole way. Park is about 12 miles out of town. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Roswell was a larger town and nicer than I expected, easily walkable. Check out the International UFO Museum; what a treasure trove of information for the enthusiast! We got a whole bag of Mexican pastries for $4 from El Toro Bravo Bakery at the corner of First and Main AND 4 big Robert Ludlum and Tom Clancy paperbacks for a dime each at Books Again at 200 W. Second St. Hardcovers were just $1! Spring River Park and Zoo was also delightful.

Stayed for 4 days after the Balloon Fiesta. Very quiet, spacious sites, our picnic table did not have a cover/shelter. Looks like they removed it but left part of the metal footing in the concrete-tripping hazard. The biggest downfall were the flies and mosquitoes. Idk if it was the time of year or if it was ususal for this area but it was bad. Good for an overnight or two to get away from the hustle and bustle of cities. Great value for water and electric. Dump station at the gate and old, but tidy bathroom block. Lovely lake. Wonderful for a swim to cool off on the hot days. Only downside was flies and biting insects so you do need insect repellant. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nice state park, covered picnic table and well located FHU utilities. For just one night this is a bit away from attractions. During our stay the wi-fi was super fast and stayed fast for our two day stay, it rained a lot but our site was high and dry. Very quiet - no trains, planes or highway noise. If towing or you are very long I recommend going straight at the first sign. Lower level road VERY twisty turny and anything longer than 45 foot might have problems. This park is located 30 mins from Roswell. It is very quiet and remote (which we like for a change of pace). We reserved a full hookup site, and all utilities worked well. We had a clear shot of the sky for satellite, and the Verizon signal was pretty strong. There is free WiFi here, which was a pleasant surprise and it worked well. The biggest lake in the park is right by the campground, and you can swim in it. We took a hike along the Bluff Trail from the campground to the Visitor Center, and got to see all the lakes except for the lagoon, which is in a different area in the park. Very relaxing stay. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Motorhome.

Excellent campground situated in a stunningly beautiful park. Can not beat the price for a water/electric site either. Sites were level and nicely spaced, and included a shelter over the picnic table. Bathhouse was convenient and clean. Be sure to get a gate code if you plan on being out late, they do close and lock the gate into the campground. Also, when coming into the park from US 380 stay to the left and do not follow the signs into the park, but instead drive the upper road, which is in much better condition. We had booked a site without sewer hook-up online but took a first-come site with hook-up when we arrived. The campground hosts were very nice and helpful. There is free wifi which was excellent, at least from our site. The only negative is that a group pavilion sits in the middle of the campground and on a Friday night there was a group with 7 tents and many adults and children camped there. The noise level was not outrageous for a group of this size but was impactful to the whole campground. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Travel Trailer.
