Numerous 50 gallon trash cans around park were full. But we used dumpster on way out. Thunder storm hit us at night but good drainage and no prblem in morning. Small campground so get reservations especially during crane festival. - Baddad53

Park is straight gravel, no trees, no picnic tables, no fire pits, no amenities other than a bath house. Owner is friendly, but other than at check in out of sight.
Try to park facing north, then the afternoon shade is on your door side. - SeeinUSA

This bare-bones park's claims to fame are the nearby Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge and in-town restaurants featuring green chile cheeseburgers. Its also a couple hours' drive to the Very Large Array of radio telescopes in the New Mexico desert. The Refuge is a birdwatcher's winter paradise with a Festival of the Cranes annually the week before Thanksgiving. The RV Park has full hookups and little else; the sites aren't even numbered. The picnic tables are old cable spools. - Mtmoi
