Payment is cash or check. There is a $2 surcharge for using a credit card. We had 30 amp electric, water and sewer. Sewer was not used because it was at the back of the site and required an extension. Furthermore, they are just drop in connections. Park is a large, terraced gravel lot. We could not get connected to the internet over WiFi with an iPad or Windows 7. We got "There is no internet connection." Over-the-air TV is great. We got 35 channels. Verizon is 3 out of 5 bars LTE. AT&T is 4 out of 5 bars. We camped at Casey's Socorro RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a gravel lot with hookups. Spaces are pretty flat but only water and electric. We camped at Casey's Socorro RV Park in a Motorhome.

Good for a one night stop. Spacious lots, but back to back. We were only 1 of 2 transients, so not an issue. Reception is also a beauty salon. Staff were great and helpful Internet was not good, but we were right at the end of the site. Would return or a one nighter again. We camped at Casey's Socorro RV Park in a Motorhome.

Gravel parking lot with some trees pretty much taken up by long-term. They also had all the full hookup sites and whatever 50amp there may have been. Only one bathroom for everybody so never checked it out. That said the park was pretty clean with nice folks running it. With the current low occupancy there was lots of room to get around with a big rig. Level site that might be cramped. Our 30 amp breaker would cut out with just 1 AC and nothing else going, used the next site's on the side-to-side hookups with no problems.

I don't mind paying for a level 30amp/water, side-to-side site on unlandscaped gravel, I just think $28 is too much. Not many options in Socorro tho. We camped at Casey's Socorro RV Park in a Tent.

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

I would have given it five stars, but you don't get much for your money here. I consider this to be a low four star park at six or seven star rates.

Downsides:

- One (1) bathroom with shower.

- No amenities other than maybe a picnic table near your site. No laundry, pet run, etc.

- RVs are parked two right next to each other as that is how the water and electric is placed. Some spaces are set up so that the room to pull in or out might be reduced due to someone parked lengthwise in front of you.

- There are quite a few folks here that seem to be long-term renters, and some of them make a little noise later at night from time to time, and traffic levels in the park are higher and noisier than many other places I've stayed.

- Most sites are water and electric only. If you are paying to stay at any site, the dump is free, but not convenient especially for the rates charged.

- The office is not staffed every day. I was going to stay another day, but no one was in the office to accept my payment.

- A lot of visitors don't clean up their dog's excrement. Since I diligently clean up after my dog, I cannot stand when others are too lazy or ignorant to do so. One person here just lets his two chihuahuas out the door and doesn't supervise them.

Upside (there has to be at least one!)

- There were plenty of spaces to choose from when I arrived, and there is still plenty of space available now (check the date I am writing this review)

- Electricity is not metered. Hello A/C and electric heat! Saves my propane for the next leg of my journey.

- Close to the freeway, but very little freeway noise. It has a slightly busy road next to it, but the noise from it isn't bad IMO.

- Some sites have trees that are nice to sit under on the provided picnic tables. The picnic tables can be moved by two healthy people so that if you don't have one but a vacant site nearby does, just go grab it.

- Groceries, fuel, propane, 24/7 restaurant, WalMart, etc., right down the street. We camped at Casey's Socorro RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

I don't know how this place compares to other parks in Socorro, and there are other parks here, besides the Escondida Lake park.

Very small pull through back to back sites. Gravel and level. My electric didn't work but plugged into next site and it was OK. Overpriced for what you get but it was winter and cold so we needed hookups. Would stay again if in the area. We camped at Casey's Socorro RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Hookups were water and electricity. Fairly level gravel sites, friendly owner, and close to the freeway. We would stay here again for a one night stopover. We camped at Casey's Socorro RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here twice now as a quick stop for the night when heading north after work. Nothing fancy by any means but didn't need but a place to overnight. At night, the sign is not well lit or positioned for driveway into the park location - follow the sign for the beauty salon. That is where the office is located! Staff is friendly. Some road noise but not bad. Off ramp is open now. We camped at Casey's Socorro RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Not much but a quick stop for the night. No WiFi, no cable, no dump on parking site but a dump is available near entrance. OK for a quick stop. Not much around walking distance. Stop for dinner before if you don't want to unhook. Call ahead for off ramp as highway being repaired and nearby off ramp closed. No WiFi or cable. Nice lady runs it. We camped at Casey's Socorro RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

When the wife called she was told the campground was across from Arby's. It's not. Would have been better to have said turn left before Arbys on Highway 1 when coming off exit 147 of I-25. The office is also a hair salon. Gravel roads and gravel sites. The site we were on had no sewer, no cable TV. The Wi-Fi was worthless. Ear plug park. Road noise. We camped at Casey's Socorro RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Not much to choose from in the Socorro area if you want hookups. Basic gravel campground with a scattering of trees. Wide access lanes, but can still be challenging in places with a larger rig. Most of the transient spots (row B & C) are 30A, water, no sewer. The only 50A and sewer that we could find for transients was in row D where a few (perhaps 4 or 5) have 50A service. While they supposedly take reservations, they appear to have a first come, first serve policy (that’s what is posted on the door if you get there before 4pm). So if you need 50A service or you have a large rig, it may be problematic. We ended up in row B and hung out both ends of the space (37’ plus toad) enough that we felt it necessary to deploy our safety triangles on both ends. Only the coach was relatively level, the toad was on a definite slope. 30A power seemed OK, but no need to run the A/C the night we were there. Did not use the water. Wifi is pretty much useless - most people could not get a signal except at the office and the far end of the campground. We got a signal in row B, but we have really good antennae. And it did us no good as the WAP wasn’t handing out IP addresses. Verizon data signal was moderate (3 bars) on LTE with decent data transfer speeds. The office staff was very friendly, but completely clueless about even such fundamentals as “Do you have 50A hookups?”. Cash or check only. We would stay here again only if we needed an overnight in the area and not if it was hot (thus needing the A/C). We camped at Casey's Socorro RV Park in a Motorhome.
