We have been full-time RVers for over 3 years and have never come across park owners that were more friendly, helpful, and hard-working than this couple. The park is small and basic in a great location near Taos, but out on the high desert mesa with 360 degree views of the mountains all around. One huge private bathroom / shower for the women and one of the same for the men....always sparkling clean. Excellent wifi. Big piece of land adjacent to the park with walking trails - great place to take your dog. Another plus is that it's just a mile from the Taos Mesa Brewery, which has great food and beer plus activities and/or music every night. Rate is monthly plus metered electric (we used a lot of electric as it was winter). We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

So many things to see and do around Taos - historic sites, museums, restaurants, galleries and shops, and live music....not to mention all the outdoor activities and scenic drives. Plus, the Taos aquatic center is a fantastic facility for a town this size.

We stayed the first time at this lovely park in October on our way to Texas. Just a few days ago we swung back through after traveling through Colorado. This park is so conveniently located and is one of the cleanest there is. Parking spots are pristine, and well taken care of. Booking is personable and easy. It's perfectly situated in the middle of a 360 degree view of the mountains. There's plenty to do nearby.

I have just one minor comment. The fact that there is only one washing machine is a nuisance but it would not keep me from staying there again. We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is SO much to do nearby. Endless possibilities. Taos center, museums, Arroyo Secco, Taos Ski Valley, the Rio Grande bridge and more!

There are maps and information at the front desk and the owners are warm and helpful.

Just don't plan on doing loads of laundry. There's only one machine. Not a big deal! I highly recommend this park.

Good sized sites. Utilities worked although the water pressure was low. Wifi worked well. Verizon signal strong. Easy in/out with no problem with our 40 foot fifth wheel. This is a nice clean little park with great sunsets and easy access to town. Definitely would stay here again. We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Guadalajara Grill has great food!

This is a very nice park. The sites are level & adequately spaced. The hook ups are well placed. There is no cable but there is WiFi that worked well. There isn't very much grass & the skunk weed that grows wild is very pungent. It is a small park. They do have a security gate. The park is conveniently located to the town. The staff is very friendly & the owner, Concha, lets you know the layout of Taos & points of interest & restaurants. She also helped us with the different routes we could take to Sante Fe. We would stay here again. We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Motorhome.

A relatively nice desert campground with great views. Far enough out of town to be mostly quiet with some highway noise. Single lane gravel access roads leading to mostly level gravel sites. Nicely spaced sites with picnic table and desert vegetation. Power ok although we did have one dropout on leg 2 (under 104v) over the course of a week. No A/C loading so no feel for how that would affect the power. Water psi low at 40, sewer ok, but not a threaded connection. Wifi was reasonable for a campground with occasional periods of sluggish bandwidth and frequent disconnects. Verizon access was pretty much of a joke (extended service 3g with 3 bars and very slow). We tried it once when the campground wifi was sluggish and it made the campground seem fast by comparison. No problem with satellite access. Recycle aluminum cans only. Electric is metered on weekly rates - we paid $20 for the week (but no heavy electric usage). We will stay here again. We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Motorhome.

Management is just super. Informative about what to see in Taos and nearby as well as the Golden Circle drive. The location is convenient and quiet. Sites are well spaced and drive thru. We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Just ask for good places to eat and things to see.

This a nice park a couple miles North of Taos, West on Highway 64 towards the gorge bridge. All sites are pullthrus and they are 50' wide. So there is nice separation from your neighbor. There also is sage and other bushes between the sites that add to the feeling of privacy. Our site (#12) was perfectly level. And it looked like most of them were close to the same. There are no trees. But that allows you to have views of the mountain to the East and the gorgeous sunsets to the West. We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Go to the parking lot on the West side of the gorge and take the trail South about a half mile to a bench with a great view of the gorge and the bridge.

Have the house salad (with the house dressing) at Taos Pizza Outback.

Breakfast at Michael's is our favorite.

Not big rig friendly, sites are too narrow with overgrown bushes that hinder slides and getting around RV. We were here two years ago and it looks as if nothing has been touched since then. Good wifi and friendly front desk person. Definitely will not return! We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Motorhome.

Easy entrance off highway. Large, roomy spaces for big rigs. Sensational views. Hosts were helpful. Gravel spaces - could use a bit of weeding here and there but adds to the more rural setting. Utilities worked great. A few full timers, but no problems. Easy access to Taos from the north side. We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

For great Mexican food try Orlando's. About 2 miles. It opens for dinner at 5:00 - within 20 minutes there is an hour wait. Worth the visit.

575-751-0774. 24819 US Hwy 64 W, El Prado, NM 87529. Located on the same road and about 5 miles from the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge and just a few miles north of downtown Taos. The park has 5 acres of open space and sits on the high-desert mesa at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Taos County. There isn't much shade (it is high desert after all) but the sites are long and wide and there is plenty of room between the gravel FHU (30 and 50 amp) pull through sites. Not all site are totally level but they are well kept. We have stayed here many times and have not had a bad site yet. The park has security gates, is pet friendly, big rig friendly, has a well-stocked convenience store, friendly hosts, a dump station, picnic tables at each site, a laundry, clean restrooms with showers, a neat group gathering area pavilion, tent sites with protected fences, and WiFi that actually WORKS! We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy entrance right off the highway. The sites were gravel and level and very well maintained. Nice wide pull-thrus, we saw several large rigs here. The bathrooms/showers were immaculate, and the park hosts were super friendly. Very small playground for the kids, but the hosts were quick to give our boys patches and stickers to keep them busy! The view of the mountains and sunsets was incredible. There was some minor highway noise but it didn't bother us. We would stay here again. We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We chose this park because of the other reviews here as well as several other RV review sites. Our experience at Monte Bello RV Park was more than wonderful. The park owners are what all RV park owners should strive for. Friendly, accommodating, helpful, honest, and will go the extra mile to ensure your stay is enjoyable. It is very clear they love what they do and they love the town they live in. Very big-rig friendly. The sites are level and gravel as well as wide and long for slideouts and tow-behind vehicles. Water is good; we also used a 50 amp site. Turning around is also easy. This park is outside of the hustle-and-bustle of Taos, but within a 5-10 minute drive. The park does reside in the high-desert, so campers should be prepared for that. What does that mean? No high overhanging trees that will block satellite dishes, smaller bushes about waist-high, extremely dark skies and it can get quite breezy during the afternoon hours. The park is VERY clean, including the office, storefront, showers, little library area. Scenery is awesome. Would we stay here again? Absolutely, without hesitation! We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Motorhome.

Remembering you are in the desert mountain climate, this is a lovely site. Sites are very generous in size, gravel, fairly level and have an unobstructed view of the mountains (we were there when the aspens were turning and the mountains were capped with snow and lower turning shades of gold and red with the evergreens mixed in for extra color). The park staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The park is quiet and most were waiting for first good snowfall to start skiing. Close to town (2 miles) yet far enough away to be away from the crowds. Close to the gorge bridge. I would highly recommend this part. Price reflects discount AND hefty New Mexico state tax (they have to pay hotel tax even though they don't change sheets or offer room service - go figure!) We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a small park located conveniently East of Taos off of highway. Our pull through site was level and easy to access. At this time of year water had to be disconnected in the evening to prevent freezing of hose and facility hook up. Verizon service was excellent and DirecTV easy to access. There is a large covered common area with a barbecue and picnic tables as well as picnic tables at each site. The area is high desert so landscaping is desert foliage and cactus. There is no fenced dog area but there is a well maintained dirt trail which made an excellent one mile walk for the dog. There is a nice store and staff was very helpful with suggestions for touring the area. We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
