Nice park for a couple nights stay. Nothing fancy, but big pull through sites for a 43' motor coach. Entire camp is gravel and has good drainage. (It rained very hard the 2 nights we were here.) Owner was very friendly and is a military vet. We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a basic but very clean RV park. The office staff are very friendly and helpful. The gravel pull-through sites are quite spacious, but being exposed in full sun on the top of a windy mesa doesn't lend itself to sitting outside enjoying the day. It's a good place to stop for a few days but it's not special enough to spend a month or two. One huge positive is the mile-long walking loop out the back of the RV park. It's a nice amenity for both dogs and humans who'd like to get out and stretch their legs in the desert. I'd keep an eye out for snakes in the summer though. We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Motorhome.

Park is on a barren plateau west of Taos. All sites are pull through, gravel pads and roads, fairly level. Our price was for 30 amp and water service only, sewer was an additional $6/day. There is a dump station in the park. Sunsets are beautiful, as the sun sets over the distant mountains. The park is close to the Rio Grande Gorge and the town. There is a one mile walking/biking trail through the prairie, west of the park. Included in your site is a picnic table. There is NO SHADE in the park. The wind blew strongly both nights we were there. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. Coin op laundry. The staff was friendly. There is a store on site, with reasonable prices. Had to go to the pavilion for wi-fi, but available. Good ATT service. We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Visit the Rio Grand Gorge. Walk on the bridge over the Gorge. Eat at Orlando's in Taos, sit on the patio in the evening, no dogs or smoking allowed. Drive the Enchanted Circle.

Park is slightly northwest of Taos. I would have given it a higher rating overall except the cost was on the high side and they charge for individual electricity at your site. That added about $1.50 to the already pricey rate. We stayed 11 days and got their lower rate. The park has nothing exceptional in it, just like many "nice" rv parks. Staff is friendly. We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful views if you ask for a site facing the mountains. Great separation between sites. Clean and well run. My only complaint was the WIFI which was spotty at best. If they actually provided reliable WIFI this would be a 10 rated park. We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Motorhome.

We planned to stay at Taos Monte Bello RV since it has good easy access to skiing. We booked our site in advance since it was during Christmas and New Years. The day we were arriving, we were delayed and would not make it to the rv park until 6:30 pm, so we called to let Monte Bello know of our arrival time. The woman who answered was obviously upset with our late arrival and told us it was a great inconvenience to stay until we arrived. Monte Bello closes at 5:00 along with the security gates. Since we were registered and credit card given, we asked for the security gate code and was told no we could not have it since we have not "officially" registered. The woman then suggested that we stay the night somewhere else and come to Monte Bello the next day. To us, this was absurd and not an option so we contacted the other RV park in Taos. We were greeted in an entirely different way.

We have been camping/rv'ing for many years and we have never experienced a rv park closing at a specific time and not accommodating late arrivals. We have always had our sire information set up on a bulletin board or in a box with the expectation that you physically register the next morning.

We called Monte Bello back to let them know that we were cancelling our five day reservation. We explained that the other rv park was more than happy to have us and work with the late arrival - the woman said thank you and hung up. In my opinion, this is not how a rv park, who has travelers coming and going every day from all over the US, does business. Will we stay at Monte Bello - never! Will we stay at the other rv park off of HWY 68 and Este Es - YES! We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is an amazing campground. Perhaps the most picturesque and well run in northern New Mexico.

However, now there is either a kennel or other dog aggregation facility across the street. If you enjoy dogs barking all night this is the place for you. If you don't like dogs barking all night, bring noise cancelling headphones. This development is a shame. We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Motorhome.

BEWARE: GPS will not send you on the most direct route - would have been better to go through Taos instead (we think). Loved this more primitive setting site - glorious panoramic views. Managers (sooo very nice) did not have a 50 amp site the first nite for us, so they parked us beside their office, so we stayed hooked up and moved later the next morning when another site became available. Hard to enjoy views and relax when you have to move twice and only staying 2 nites. But it was appreciated. Campground store had ample RV supplies and at good prices. Security gate and 24 hr camp host on the grounds. I could have stayed another day here, just to relax and watch the sun go down in the desert behind the mountain ranges. Beautiful - felt like we were really in New Mexico. Rio Grande Gorge/Suspension Bridge was close by (worth the trip) and shopping in Taos square was awesome. Orlando's restaurant was wonderful, true New Mexico mexican food. We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is not a resort and there is no pool, but the campground is great. The owners are wonderful and maintain a very clean roomy RV park that is out of town with wonderful views of the distant mountains and sunsets. We have stayed here before and will again. We try to stay here every year as we travel from our son's house in Santa Fe to Colorado or points west. This is a very nice park, kept very clean, with drop dead views. It is on a small Mesa so can be quite windy. We were there three nights this year and we could only sit outside in early morning due to the wind. But it is springtime...and the wind blows in much of the Southwest all spring! I highly recommend the park. We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We had a very bad experience at Monte Bello. This park is pretty basic and we were prepared for that from the previous reviews. It is located on top of a mesa with no trees, no shade, lots of dust and VERY windy. Most afternoons our RV was rocking back and forth like being on a boat. There is also road noise as it is located right next to a highway with lots of truck traffic.

The sites are close and have no privacy. Unfortunately for us, the on-site host did nothing about the site occupant next to us who got up at 6:00AM and decided to do repair work on his truck engine along with lots of slamming doors, revving engines, driving in and out to test his repair work, etc.

This noise and repair job continued for over 3 hours. When we complained to the on-site host, whose site is situated directly behind the offending repairman, he was rude asked why we didn't complain to him at 6:00AM and used language that is not fit to print. Needless to say, we will not be returning here - ever. The positives are the clean restrooms and laundry. We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Motorhome.

This campground is a few miles north of Taos in an arid area. It does get windy there. Our site was not quite long enough to accommodate motorhome and toad, but there was plenty of room beside the motorhome. Water, sewer, and electric worked well. AT&T cell coverage is good. Wifi on our site was marginal, fast when it would connect. I suspect it is better on other sites; the campground antennas are pretty low. The whole campground is very well kept. Our dogs thought the walking trail was great. This is a great base from which to explore the area. We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Motorhome.

We have been full-time RVers for over 3 years and have never come across park owners that were more friendly, helpful, and hard-working than this couple. The park is small and basic in a great location near Taos, but out on the high desert mesa with 360 degree views of the mountains all around. One huge private bathroom / shower for the women and one of the same for the men....always sparkling clean. Excellent wifi. Big piece of land adjacent to the park with walking trails - great place to take your dog. Another plus is that it's just a mile from the Taos Mesa Brewery, which has great food and beer plus activities and/or music every night. Rate is monthly plus metered electric (we used a lot of electric as it was winter). We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

So many things to see and do around Taos - historic sites, museums, restaurants, galleries and shops, and live music....not to mention all the outdoor activities and scenic drives. Plus, the Taos aquatic center is a fantastic facility for a town this size.

We stayed the first time at this lovely park in October on our way to Texas. Just a few days ago we swung back through after traveling through Colorado. This park is so conveniently located and is one of the cleanest there is. Parking spots are pristine, and well taken care of. Booking is personable and easy. It's perfectly situated in the middle of a 360 degree view of the mountains. There's plenty to do nearby.

I have just one minor comment. The fact that there is only one washing machine is a nuisance but it would not keep me from staying there again. We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

There is SO much to do nearby. Endless possibilities. Taos center, museums, Arroyo Secco, Taos Ski Valley, the Rio Grande bridge and more!

There are maps and information at the front desk and the owners are warm and helpful.

Just don't plan on doing loads of laundry. There's only one machine. Not a big deal! I highly recommend this park.

Good sized sites. Utilities worked although the water pressure was low. Wifi worked well. Verizon signal strong. Easy in/out with no problem with our 40 foot fifth wheel.
