We We needed a place to stay for the night and gave Bluewater Lake SP a try. We are pulling a car on a dolly (52' total) so a pull thru is a good idea and we found one, all the electric sites were back in. The site is long enough and level. It's early April, not crowded A nice place, I'd stay here again. - becida

Although park was "shut down" for winter (no water at individual sites and no showers/restrooms), we enjoyed the truly New Mexico landscape. Sites were level and, given the slow season, there were plenty to choose from. Potable water fill was available near campsites and dump station located at entry/exit to park. A sort drive (about 7 miles) south of I-40 on good, paved road. Definitely would stay again, in or out of season. - Racer and Friend

Just stopped for the night as we were passing thru. Staff was friendly and helpful. Satellite friendly. No problem with utilities. Will stay again when passing thru. - Roamer on wheels

This was a one night stand for us. Just off Interstate 40 and close to fuel. The sites are gravel and ours was flat. Many, many permanents but still clean and friendly. The office IS closed between 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM, as someone else wrote. Of course we arrived at 12:30 pm. But - no problem. We just picked an open site and hooked up after we filled out their form in the box on the door. It was noisy from the Interstate and we did experience a 1 hour power loss (not the fault of the campground). The owner also owns Blue Spruce RV park in the same town. Don't put your awning down - very windy town. - Dr. Hemlock

Close to Freeway and noise - Trains all night long, sounded like they were in the park!! Did have room for our toad. Decent for over night if in a pinch. - travlingtrio

I stayed for the Red Rock Balloon Rally. Unfortunately, snows and winds prevented the balloons from ascending. Even though I knew ahead of time that the balloon ascent was questionable, I decided to try out the RV park. I enjoyed my stay there. The site was spacious and the roads easy to navigate. I had water and electric at my site, but no sewer. The surrounding red rocks made for a nice scenic campground. - ArmandV

Basically agree with other reviews. After 4:30 a City worker drives around and collects the fee. I drove around several times trying to find a defined site. I wanted to stay connected with my Fifth wheel, so length was an issue. Electric meters are double sided, so half the lots would not work for standard left side water and electric. That is why most folks were parked any way they could be to get to electric. Plus the meter bases are way forward making disconnecting almost a necessity. Not a level lot in the park. Having said all that, this was a good value for the money and very scenic and very quiet. What interactions we did have with staff was very helpful and pleasant. We would camp here again any time. - Mike from Bama

Nice, but confusing sites. We only stayed there one night. It's a nice park with electric and water. It's quiet and restful. We can't give it a proper review, since it rained (read poured) the night we were there. The next morning the ground was solid, thankfully. And the night we stayed there was a rodeo and a wonderful fireworks show. The only downside was is that we tried to use the restroom, but they were locked. - jdavanzo
