We stopped here overnight on our way from Arizona to the East Coast. This park is a great overnight stop. The owners are friendly and helpful, and the sites are long and level, easy in and out. The utilities worked well, and looked like they were recently upgraded. There is a clear shot of the sky for satellite, but the park offers cable as well, with a large selection of channels. The park is nothing fancy, but serves its purpose well. We would return if in the area again. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is one of the few businesses still open this time of year in the town. Gravel sites, close together with full hook ups. Office is shabby, but WiFi is good. Not much to choose from in the town. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a sufficient park right on route 66. Folks the town is suffering because of I-40 and also their 15 year drought. The town looks pretty worn, but give it a chance. The rv park is as others have stated, its a gravel lot, but in our opinion the best option. The lady at the desk was very nice and took us to our site. We were a bit concerned that we were parked next to a side road with no security or fence because the surroundings did look a bit rough. That said we had no issues with anything, all utilities worked fine, the wifi was a bit slow, but satisfactory for us. Like I said, give the town a chance to impress you, we were pleasantly surprised at how nice the folks are and they are just deserving of our business. Lets get 66 going again! We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We talked to some locals who suggested the Pow wow restaurant for lunch and we really liked it. Don't expect chain store food, it's a mom and pop. Also, Del's is a must do, the restaurant is just about 1/2 block from cactus rv and we thought the food was great. It is run by the granddaughters of the original owners. Heads up if you go to the route 66 museum, the hours are only 9-1 so we missed it. Will catch it next time!

The lady owner who checked us in was very nice. Check in was very fast and she showed us to our long long site since we are 60' total. Nothing glamorous but served our purposes for the week stay in the area. Within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. We will definitely stay again if in area. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here overnight on our way to Arizona. The owner was waiting for us when we arrived in the late evening and showed us to our space. It was a small park but quite clean and very nice for our purposes. We will definitely stop there again. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is an ok place for a night or two, or actually longer. Very bare bones, no frills, but all hookups worked. WiFi was pretty good, sites were level, area, including other units, was clean. If you visit, don't miss the Mesalands Dinosaur Museum. What a gem! We would stay here again. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

Check in was fast and we were asked about our rooftop sat. dish and guided to a long pull through that gave a clear shot to the southern sky. Kind of a tossup between this park and the adjacent competitor. This park seems to have added quite a few new sites with new electric pedestals, cable, water and sewer. Lots of room and quiet with a very good, fast WiFi system. Verizon signal also seemed strong. Very easy in and out. We would stay again. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

We are traveling west and try to go the back roads when possible. Tucumcari was on a radar as far as the distance we wanted to travel. We made reservations at this wee park and when we got here they had 'our' spot roped off. It is a charming park.. And for those traveling and need an overnight - this really works. The lady that showed us to our spot was delightful and very kind- suggesting that she had us pointed in the direction to have the sun be the least offensive on our wee RV. We stayed in Buckeye AZ at a snowbird park, last year, and this one has it beat IMHO. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park was an okay stop. The sites were large, level, and clean. I paid for a 50 amp service but once hooked up the 50 amp didn't work. The 30 amp off another pedestal was okay. I notified the manager that night. Next day they checked it and gave a small cash refund even though I didn't expect it. Very fair. The electric services were recently upgraded. The Wi-Fi was good. The park is a very short walk to a good restaurant on Rt.66 - Del's and also Kix on 66. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a clean, safe, campground in Tucumcari. There are not a lot of choices. And this was not our first choice. However, after pulling up to our #1 choice we came back to look at Cactus RV. The owners are super nice and friendly. It was about to storm so they told us, and the people in front of us, to go ahead and hookup before the rain. The sites are clean and level. We had good internet and cable. You can walk to Del's Restaurant which came highly recommended by trip advisor. There is an old hotel that surrounds this place but it is on the National Register for Historical Sites. It adds a little flavor. You need to keep in mind that the town of Tucumcari is not thriving so don't have the same expectations. At $16, it was better and safer than a shopping center parking lot. They honor PA and Escapees. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very friendly staff, efficient and quickly lead us to our site. Level gravel sites, not a lot of flash, very quiet. Not much around to walk to for restaurants or shopping, so do that ahead of time. Easy to fine. Great 1 night stay and would stay here again. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

Basically a parking lot in a defunct motel. Mngmt was great, friendly and helpful, we stayed an extra day rather than overnight based on her description of local sites. Good wifi. We had one of the few shady sites. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice simple park with friendly, helpful owners. New 50 amp service, water, and sewer hookups on most sites. Sundays most restaurants closed. Nice strolling area on Rt. 66. Would stay longer and again. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a quaint Route 66 RV Park built around an old motel. It is not fancy but adequate for just about any size RV. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We would certainly stay there again. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.
