Good place for overnight stay. Sites are level and some are on grass. Brand new 50 Amp service. Old Route 66 motel converted to RV park. Easy off and on from I-40. Several good restaurants within walking distance. Owners are hard working and very nice and accommodating.
We would stay here again. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Try Del's restaurant established in 1956. Good Tex/Mex and within easy walking distance. Cable and Wi-Fi available; however, we used our satellite dish.

This park is easy in and easy exit. It is all gravel, and some of the sites have trees. At those sites, trees have been trimmed to avoid interference with slides and awnings. We did have an escort to our site, which was one with shade. The site was long enough to park the car behind the motor home. The utilities worked well for the duration of our stay. We were only able to get wifi service from about 3 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. each day - not sure of the cause. There is noise from the road in front, but with windows closed and air conditioning on, it was not an issue for us. The park itself is very quiet at night. It is a basic, no frills park, which is exactly what we wanted. We enjoyed our stay here and will choose this park again when in the area. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

They took an old motel and made the parking lot into an RV Park. You would just use it for over night. It is clean. We walked down the street out front which is the old Rte 66. Not far off the highway. VERY level sites. Wifi works GREAT !!! We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Nice place for what it is. We would come back if passing this way.

Nice quiet and clean. Very enjoyable. The office was an old building but was clean. The woman who took our money went outside and showed me the easiest way to access my site and then guided me into it. She did her best to keep us in the shade:) Not all sites were well shaded, but some were and the park didn't have a lot of customers the night we stayed. The whole park looked to be very level and the utilities were very convenient to access. The site I used had both 30 & 50 amp with water and sewer and cable which I didn't use. I have slides on both sides that make me about 15' wide & I had plenty of room. I think she mentioned wifi, but I don't use if I have good Verizon 4g & I did here. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We didn't take any sight seeing tours here but Old Route 66 here looks fairly typical of these old towns that I-40 bypassed 40 years ago. Most of the small towns really show their wear due to the lack of tourism they get now.

This was a great stop-over for us. They have several sites and we were well pleased with our site. Management was very helpful. Cable and Wifi was good and secure. Sadly, this entire town needs a face-lift. Being on the historic Route 66, one would think this area could capitalize on the history and make it a thriving town. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stopped here overnight on our way from Arizona to the East Coast. This park is a great overnight stop. The owners are friendly and helpful, and the sites are long and level, easy in and out. The utilities worked well, and looked like they were recently upgraded. There is a clear shot of the sky for satellite, but the park offers cable as well, with a large selection of channels. The park is nothing fancy, but serves its purpose well. We would return if in the area again. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

Hate giving the park a "5" because it's a decent park with level gravel spaces in a unique former motel courtyard type setting and very kind and friendly owners. Easy access to and in the park with our larger RV. The problem is the neighborhood; residences nearby are somewhat sketchy and even Tucumcari proper is very depressed and in a sad state of repair. I was in a space outside the courtyard and refused the first space, insisting on being closer to the main area and other campers. I would not stay again at this RV park or in Tucumcari. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for 1 month. This park doesn't have all the "bells and whistles" that some other parks have, but it does have the nicest park owners ever, great Wi-Fi and cable, it's quiet and clean, and very well maintained. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

The lady owner who checked us in was very nice. Check in was very fast and she showed us to our long long site since we are 60' total. Nothing glamorous but served our purposes for the week stay in the area. Within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. We will definitely stay again if in area. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is one of the few businesses still open this time of year in the town. Gravel sites, close together with full hook ups. Office is shabby, but WiFi is good. Not much to choose from in the town. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a sufficient park right on route 66. Folks the town is suffering because of I-40 and also their 15 year drought. The town looks pretty worn, but give it a chance. The rv park is as others have stated, its a gravel lot, but in our opinion the best option. The lady at the desk was very nice and took us to our site. We were a bit concerned that we were parked next to a side road with no security or fence because the surroundings did look a bit rough. That said we had no issues with anything, all utilities worked fine, the wifi was a bit slow, but satisfactory for us. Like I said, give the town a chance to impress you, we were pleasantly surprised at how nice the folks are and they are just deserving of our business. Lets get 66 going again! We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We talked to some locals who suggested the Pow wow restaurant for lunch and we really liked it. Don't expect chain store food, it's a mom and pop. Also, Del's is a must do, the restaurant is just about 1/2 block from cactus rv and we thought the food was great. It is run by the granddaughters of the original owners. Heads up if you go to the route 66 museum, the hours are only 9-1 so we missed it. Will catch it next time!

We stayed here overnight on our way to Arizona. The owner was waiting for us when we arrived in the late evening and showed us to our space. It was a small park but quite clean and very nice for our purposes. We will definitely stop there again. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Check in was fast and we were asked about our rooftop sat. dish and guided to a long pull through that gave a clear shot to the southern sky. Kind of a tossup between this park and the adjacent competitor. This park seems to have added quite a few new sites with new electric pedestals, cable, water and sewer. Lots of room and quiet with a very good, fast WiFi system. Verizon signal also seemed strong. Very easy in and out. We would stay again. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.
