This is an ok place for a night or two, or actually longer. Very bare bones, no frills, but all hookups worked. WiFi was pretty good, sites were level, area, including other units, was clean. If you visit, don't miss the Mesalands Dinosaur Museum. What a gem! We would stay here again. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

We are traveling west and try to go the back roads when possible. Tucumcari was on a radar as far as the distance we wanted to travel. We made reservations at this wee park and when we got here they had 'our' spot roped off. It is a charming park.. And for those traveling and need an overnight - this really works. The lady that showed us to our spot was delightful and very kind- suggesting that she had us pointed in the direction to have the sun be the least offensive on our wee RV. We stayed in Buckeye AZ at a snowbird park, last year, and this one has it beat IMHO. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

This park was an okay stop. The sites were large, level, and clean. I paid for a 50 amp service but once hooked up the 50 amp didn't work. The 30 amp off another pedestal was okay. I notified the manager that night. Next day they checked it and gave a small cash refund even though I didn't expect it. Very fair. The electric services were recently upgraded. The Wi-Fi was good. The park is a very short walk to a good restaurant on Rt.66 - Del's and also Kix on 66. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Check in was fast and we were asked about our rooftop sat. dish and guided to a long pull through that gave a clear shot to the southern sky. Kind of a tossup between this park and the adjacent competitor. This park seems to have added quite a few new sites with new electric pedestals, cable, water and sewer. Lots of room and quiet with a very good, fast WiFi system. Verizon signal also seemed strong. Very easy in and out. We would stay again. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Very friendly staff. Walked us to our site and made sure we were hooked up. Clean, level pull thru sites. Good wifi. Walking distance to a couple of restaurants. Would stay here again. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

This is a clean, safe, campground in Tucumcari. There are not a lot of choices. And this was not our first choice. However, after pulling up to our #1 choice we came back to look at Cactus RV. The owners are super nice and friendly. It was about to storm so they told us, and the people in front of us, to go ahead and hookup before the rain. The sites are clean and level. We had good internet and cable. You can walk to Del's Restaurant which came highly recommended by trip advisor. There is an old hotel that surrounds this place but it is on the National Register for Historical Sites. It adds a little flavor. You need to keep in mind that the town of Tucumcari is not thriving so don't have the same expectations. At $16, it was better and safer than a shopping center parking lot. They honor PA and Escapees. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Very friendly staff, efficient and quickly lead us to our site. Level gravel sites, not a lot of flash, very quiet. Not much around to walk to for restaurants or shopping, so do that ahead of time. Easy to fine. Great 1 night stay and would stay here again. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Basically a parking lot in a defunct motel. Mngmt was great, friendly and helpful, we stayed an extra day rather than overnight based on her description of local sites. Good wifi. We had one of the few shady sites. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Very nice simple park with friendly, helpful owners. New 50 amp service, water, and sewer hookups on most sites. Sundays most restaurants closed. Nice strolling area on Rt. 66. Would stay longer and again. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $19.00
No frills cash-only gravel RV park not the best part of town. Lots of crumbling and empty buildings on site and off. The town pushes the route 66 theme to the max. Owner was short and to the point. Did not have a warm and fuzzy feeling. Okay for one night but wouldn't stay any longer. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Your basic place to stay while on the road on Route 66. Very rustic, used to be a motel. We would not recommend for children. All the utilities worked very well. We have stayed here before and would stay again. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

This RV park is a real sleeper. It certainly doesn't look appealing but then nothing much in Tucumcari does. The rate shown is with Good Sam discount and included w/s/e(50amp), CATV and Wi-Fi. Everything work just fine. It used to be a motel or motor court many years ago, like back in the 1940's. It is no longer used as that but the buildings are still there. There is a good restaurant right next door serving American and Mexican food. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

This is a quaint Route 66 RV Park built around an old motel. It is not fancy but adequate for just about any size RV. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We would certainly stay there again. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

While signage could be better, the directions we received over the phone were spot-on. We had a nice long pull-thru with plenty of room for our 38' RV, trailer with Can-Am and a Jeep. Utilities well-placed in the site and all worked well. Price reflects Passport America rate. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

The rate I paid is Passport America. This was my third or fourth visit to this RV park. I would not stay anywhere else in Tucumcari. To start with, it is easy access from I-40/66 if you are coming from the east. If you are on I-40 get off at the Tucumcari exit and get on 66 which is the main street through town (but don't confuse it with Main Street which is downtown), and go down several blocks past the Kmart. It is on your left. If you are coming from the west, get on 66 and go through town --it will be on your right. Make sure you pull into Cactus and not Kiva which is next to it. The main area of the park is inside the courtyard of the old picturesque motel. As soon as you pull in the office is to your left. The owners welcome you with a friendly smile and once you are checked in, they direct you into your space and make sure you are in the correct spot for your hookups. The spaces are long enough that you can connect your utilities without unhooking your toad to readjust your RV. The spots are level. The Wi-Fi is very good--free. They also have cable TV. It is within walking distance to several good eateries. I recommend Rockin' R which is several blocks east of the RV park. On Main street downtown is an excellent Mexican restaurant called La Pueblita. Down the street several blocks from the RV park is a laundromat. Grocery, hardware and dollar stores are all in easy driving distance. On the east side of town is a Conoco station that has propane. I enjoy my visits to quirky Tucumcari and this is one of my favorite parks in all my travels. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo
