A no frills campground in downtown Tucumcari on historic Highway 66. Good for a quiet night's stay. No road noise or trains. Restaurants nearby. Tucumcari is a friendly town, worth stopping by. Owner/manager was helpful. Some sites are close, they will be closer if you only have one slide. Cable TV included. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

We came in for the night to a gravel lot. Check in was quick and easy. The pull through was big enough not to have to disconnect. FHU at the site. Came through town to the campground, easy to find. No frills, just good service and clean. Would return. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

It's located on the Mother Road Rt 66, very historic with cool motels along the road. Only a few still operating, sad to see the others falling to into disrepair.

This is our third stay at this park. A great place to pull off the road and spend a comfortable night for a fair price. The folks that operate the park are especially nice. Each time I've called on the day of arrival and a site was reserved for me. The RV park is built around an old Route 66 tourist court. It brings back lots of nostalgia of that era of traveling. Always there will be several large motor homes and 5th wheels, most being just over nighters. Pull throughs are gravel with a little grass. Sites are pretty close together, but no noise. Not a fancy park but safe and comfortable, and you can't beat the price and ease of getting into and out of. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This was an overnight stop for us. We pulled in to the park & were immediately greeted by the lady from the office. Check-in was quick & then we were guided to our space. Nothing fancy, but we were there for the night, not a lot of amenities. By nightfall, there were quite a number of rvs in the park.

This is located within the confines of an old lodge. The building is still there but no longer in use. Part of the sign for the park is original. Makes for some interesting photos as you are right on Route 66. There's a restaurant close enough that you can walk to it. Nice! You don't have to unhook your towed! We would definitely stay here again. There really wasn't much road noise from Rt 66 and the park felt safe. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Ran out of blood pressure prescription while in Tucumcari. The people at Wellborn Pharmacy went out of their way to get enough pills to get me back home. On 2nd St on north side of town. Small but friendly pharmacy.

Even though we made reservations and requested two sites together, the lady showing us our site did not make it clear which site we were going to so because we pulled up a little too far she took us all the way into the back alley and quite away from our friends instead of letting us just back up to get into space. We requested to move and she and husband did not like it one bit even though she finally did allow us to go back close to friends. I would not camp there again. Nothing but a gravel parking lot. We did walk to Del's Restaurant and enjoyed it very much and loved seeing the old sights that were part of Route 66. As long as you don't make any mistakes with the owners of the rv park or question them you would be okay to stay over nite. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Made reservations the day before. The very kind gentleman seemed happy we would arrive before 6pm. I did not see a cut off time on web site, but late arrivals might not be an option here. The place is described exactly on he internet. The grounds are very well kept, and all services work, and are in good repair. This is a great overnight place on a historic Route 66 motel site. Wifi works great during their advertised hours. A gem in the desert for those self contained just needing a quiet place to stop. Would definitely stop here again. The staff are very nice. This is a no frills rv park, exactly as their website says. They have full hookups, 30 and 50 amps and cable. Some sites have shade. There are restaurants within walking distance. We did not hear much for traffic noise and only one train off in the distance. The woman that checked us in was very nice and walked us to our site. It is not a big park but it is clean. There are no showers or restrooms and they don't have a store. I will stay here again. I encourage you to look at their web page. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Go to their website and read the description. This park is exactly as advertised, nothing more, nothing less; a clean park with full hookups conveniently located on level dirt/gravel sites. Fast, friendly check-in. Nothing fancy here, but they don't pretend to be or charge as such. Love the Route 66 vibe. We will always stay here when passing through Tucumcari. Very basic park located on busy Route 66 so some street noise. NO RESTROOMS or SHOWERS, but full hookups. Everything worked as it should. Grounds were neat and clean with shade on some sites. Entrance and exit are one way with no turn around. We had to back up to sidewalk. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This was what we needed a place to park...we got it. No extras here. Site Good Wifi good Verizon good for cell Cable good Staff good, took u to your site. Dels Restaurant short walk, Closed on Sunday. Not sure we really got our passport discount rate, as can't think anyone would really pay $40.00 a night. There isn't much here in Tucumcari, NM. Just here for an overnight stay. Lady in office was all business. Had a sign on the wall that said "This is a business! No personal questions! She did lead us to our site.
