We had a level, gravel, pull through FHU site that had cable TV. It was also satellite friendly and the Wi-Fi was OK for our minimal (e-mail and web surfing) needs. The bathrooms and laundry are older but clean. There are the usual (pool, playground, etc.) KOA recreational amenities. We camped at Tucumcari KOA in a Motorhome.

Perfect location for overnight stop. Sites are level. Park is old but really pretty and peaceful. They have an on-site cafe with good food. It has a pool, playground, and a dog park. We camped at Tucumcari KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This was fine for an overnight. The park is just okay. Certainly needs some maintenance/updating. Easy access to I40. It served it's purpose for an overnight rest. I wouldn't hurry back. We camped at Tucumcari KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Tucumcari is unfortunately a fading little town. I can't really recommend anything to see there. There is a small, decent grocery store if you need supplies.

Upon arrival, we were quoted a higher price than online. No discounts offered. Campground is easy access to interstate, which is the only positive feedback I can offer. We've been traveling throughout the West for three weeks & have paid less nightly with higher quality amenities. An electric line is precariously dangling from a warped wooden pole above our rv. Campground needs updating. No maintenance of sites. Grass needs mowing & weeds everywhere. If we hadn't been driving all day & needed a place to park, we wouldn't have stopped. Take a pass. Not up to KOA standards. Will not return. We camped at Tucumcari KOA in a Motorhome.

It was okay for an overnight stop. The grass needed to be mowed between the sites. Laundry room was conveniently located in the office area. The dryers were quite large but you have to stay there and feed it a quarter which is good for 5 minutes. We camped at Tucumcari KOA in a Motorhome.

Not a bad place, as mentioned needs some grooming (trees trimmed and grass cut) We had a pull thru slot. Folks were close on side with utilities, no one on other side. Gated dog area near front pool. Escort to site. We camped at Tucumcari KOA in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here twice. It is an okay campground but very rustic and needs some major updating. Our pull-thru was barely big enough with our 40ft motorhome and tow. It was a full hookup which was nice but the sewer was being used by our other neighbor and we didn't have long enough hose to hookup to the one they should have been in. They do have a dog area but that is half grass and half dirt. If you are desperate and tired while driving this is an okay place to stay. I am totally surprised this is considered a KOA. This KOA does not reflect the quality, cleanliness and dedication of the KOAs I have stayed at. It is extremely tired and should be retired or totally revamped. Upon entering the campground, we were first struck by the many dilapidated picnic area sun canopies that should be torn down. The KOA office and store has seen much better days sometime in the very distant past. Once I chose a site, I found the water spigot had so much mineralization on the threading that I could not get my hose to connect without spurting out significant water. The picnic tables must have been 20 years old and were not even worthy of being used for kindling or firewood. I checked out the showers and bathrooms, and to my pleasant surprise, the facilities were clean and acceptable, although a bit dated. In the laundromat, I put my loads into two dryers, only to see one run for 15 min after 3 quarters, which I expected, while the other quit after 3 min. I put a couple more quarters into dryer # 2, only to see it stop again after 2 minutes. I approached a heavy-set gentleman at the front desk (owner) and indicated the problem with the dryer. His response shocked and insulted me. He proceeded to suggest that the solution to my problem was to avoid that dryer....WOW...something I would have never thought of. We camped at Tucumcari KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

At the store I noticed the owner had a kitchenette. A family ordered food and were sitting around a table eating. I was not interested in anything from the kitchenette when I noticed the owners small dog prancing around the kitchenette and store areas. I think the health department should check this out!

This is a Journey KOA, and it is in need of some grooming. Fortunately, the location is just about perfect for the area. Access is easy from I-40, check-in a breeze, friendly staff, fairly level sites. Our pull through site was #7. It has very good shade, but we only needed water and 50 amp electric for an overnight stay, so this row did not have sewer or cable. The site length must be about 100 feet. Many of the sites are side-by-side hookups, but assignments are spread out as much as possible. There was some road noise from I-40, but not at a level that was bothersome. The WIFI was a bit slow, but adequate for our needs. We would definitely stay here again when passing through the area. We camped at Tucumcari KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed one night westbound with our 34' fifth wheel. Campground was nearly full at end of May. Staff escorted us to a gravel site that was basically level and long enough to stay hooked up. Full hookups (we used 50 amp, water and sewage). Did not use wifi. Older, tired-looking campground similar to many KOA's (check out the ancient, weathered basketball goal) but this one is well-situated for I-40 travelers with easy access to the interstate and without much competition in the area. Nearby highway noise was not a problem. Nice staff that served supper and breakfast for a reasonable price in their little cafe. Would stay again if passing through the area. The park has wide site with a lot of grass, picnic tables and shade trees between sites. The bathrooms are very clean and nicely decorated. They will fix you dinner in their small dining area or out on the patio. Breakfast, also. Not complimentary but very inexpensive. They told us they will also deliver food to your site if you wish. We would stay here again. We camped at Tucumcari KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed here about 18 months ago so when I was planning this trip I knew I would be happy with this campground. The office folks are very friendly and helpful. There's a small café in the camp office building. The sites are level and plenty long. The town is on Route 66 and we found it interesting to imagine it back in the day. Access to the Interstate is easy and there is a gas station close by that can handle big rigs. We camped at Tucumcari KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a stopover KOA but that means it is close to the freeway, has pull-thru spots and they have food available for dinner and breakfast, always a plus after a long day of driving. The owners escort you to your site and space people so they are not right next to each other. We did laundry and it was nice and clean . We camped at Tucumcari KOA in a Motorhome.

We expected that there would be more to do in town. We did visit a really nice dinosaur museum that is run by the university and a fun Curio shop shaped like a teepee. There is a grocery store but restaurants are chains.

We used this park for an overnight stay. Access was convenient from I-40 eastbound. Interior roads were easy to navigate. Our pull thru site was long & level & we didn't have to unhook.
