The main reason we stayed 2 nights instead of 1, was the great view...the mountains out our window! The usual road to arrive was under repair so we needed to take "Rattlesnake Rd". If you have a real big RV it might be tight going this way and there is a VERY DEEP but small gully you need to cross (10 ft across or so). Owners or managers are very pleasant and helpful but stay out of your business if you don't require help. This park is maybe 10 miles out of Tucumcari and it feels like you're out in the toolies - the scenery is fantastic! Be prepared, there are few and hard-to-see signs/directions. I can almost guarantee you'll overdrive the turns you need to take at least once. Beautiful little park in all. We camped at Mountain Meadows RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a quiet little gem off the beaten path surrounded by mountains next to BLM land. Check in was casual but efficient and friendly. We were told we could walk in the BLM lands next door and our dogs loved it. Mtn Meadows road was closed just past the RV park so we had to take the big dip in the road. Luckily we have a 24' rig. We would definitely stay here again. We plan to visit the pistachio faeem on our way to Alamogordo to visit the space museum. We camped at Mountain Meadows RV Park in a Motorhome.

Do not use Rattlesnake Road! There is steep dry water crossing. Our GPS put us on this road. Use Mountain Meadows Road two miles south of Rattlesnake Road! We camped at Mountain Meadows RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very quiet and had good T-Mobile and AT&T cellular signals. All sites level, long with wide pull thrus. Don't follow GPS and do not take Rattlesnake road, giant dip in road. Go 2 miles south and take Mountain Meadows Rd east 2 miles to park. Owner and host very nice and friendly and helpful. Not a lot of frills but would stay here again. We planned on only one night but decided on 3 after arriving. We camped at Mountain Meadows RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We went to Cloudcroft in our toad (small town at 9,000' elevation) and stopped by the Chamber of Commerce for things to do like a visit to The Lodge. We also loved the White Sands National Monument. We didn't make it to the air museum but it looked worthwhile too.

Overall Rating:

What a gem off the beaten track. Close to White Sands, Cloudcroft, Three Rivers, and tons of other attractions. There were 6 of us in 2 separate motor homes. The two of us decided to stay at Mountain Meadow and what a treat. It felt like home when we pulled in. The owner was absolutely bar none the best out of all the RV parks we stayed at over a 2 week period, oven KOA. No noise, no traffic, only 2 miles off the main road but well worth it. Needs to charge a little more considering what you get. Great place to walk your dog in the morning surrounded by mountains and a beautiful wash. Highly recommended. If my house in California had burned down I would have stayed. Family owned and they our wonderful people. We camped at Mountain Meadows RV Park in a Motorhome.

We arrived late at night and were a little anxious because the road to get here is off the beaten path, with some portions being gravel, not well lit and poor signage. But when we did find the place, the owner came out of her house right as we pulled in and greeted us with a friendly smile and directed us to our spot. Since it was dark, we couldn't quite see where exactly our spot was at, so another person who lives and works there also came out to give us personal directions and stayed with us until we were fully parked and even offered to give us a flashlight. Very helpful! The next morning, we received a knock on the door and the woman who helped us came to collect our payment. They needed cash or check. (Something to note). She was very helpful, giving us all kinds of advice on the area. The laundry room and shower area are humble and older but well maintained and clean. The owner has a book and game lending area and even has sleds to borrow for visiting White Sands. The shower and toilet area has extra cloth towels and toiletries! The park itself is small compared to the others in the area, but it well off the road so once you're back there, it's quiet and dark! Unlike all the other parks we saw that were right off the main busy road. We will be back here again if we're ever in the area. It feels like a little oasis, in a way. Tucked back away from the road with beautiful mountain views. The cons are that it's the desert so there are very few trees, but they did manage to have a small shade tree at each site, along with a picnic table. And forget about putting out an awning: very windy at times. It's also close to Cloudcroft and a bunch of other charming mountain towns with gorgeous views! We were overall pleasantly surprised. Almost didn't want to leave a review, just so we could keep this little gem to ourselves. We camped at Mountain Meadows RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Go to the bike shop in Alamogordo. I think it's called Outdoor Adventures. We rented mountain bikes from them. They helped us find an easy beginner trail. That experience was one of the highlights of our visit.

This campground is off the highway and central to lots of activities. It is within an hours drive (+-) of Tularosa, Alamagordo, White Sands NM, Riodoso, Cloudcroft, Sunspot and a little further out is Lincoln, Las Cruces, Hatch, TorC, the Tularosa Basin, so there's lots to do around. The campground itself is quiet and well maintained. I really liked that they kept clean towels in the restrooms for those who showered in their facility. This is not a fancy RV resort as noted elsewhere, but the people are exceptionally friendly. There have been comments about no dog run, but we have two dogs that we were able to take them out back (we were in a pull through in the back) and we had acres of desert to walk them. We always kept them leashed and wish everyone else would have done the same!! Crystal, Ann and Donna all helped us feel right at home. My rating is largely made based on that. I've been to newer, fancier, bigger parks that had pools and hot tubs and exercise equipment but weren't too friendly (and cost more). I'll take the friendly every time!! We camped at Mountain Meadows RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Sites are pretty close together (person next to us emptied their gray water into the tree in our site). Mostly back in sites with FHU; electric and water quality good. Large grassy area in middle but no dog walk (lots of vacant land behind to walk); no pool or recreation area but a few work out bikes in laundry/restroom area. If we stayed here again would go along back row with less people in it. We camped at Mountain Meadows RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Gravel and dirt roads with a few trees, small playground no activity center or rec room. All sites level, long and wide pull thrus. Very quiet. Good Verizon cell signal and 4G and open for satellite signal. Free strong password protected wi fi. Don't follow GPS and do not take Rattlesnake road, giant dip in road. Go 2 miles south and take Mountain Meadows Rd east 2 miles to park. Manager friendly and helpful. Not a resort but we will stay there again. We camped at Mountain Meadows RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here overnight and would have stayed longer, but windstorms were forecasted along our planned route. It is off the main road Hwy 54 a little ways down a road with quite a dip, but we made it without dragging anything with our 37' TT. We enjoyed our stay and the people couldn't be more friendly. You can see the white sands missile range in the distance. There is ample room for even the largest RV. The site was level and graveled. We camped at Mountain Meadows RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

After being close to the road for the past 3 RV parks I stayed at, being on a VERY quiet backroad was a true pleasure. Friendly owner and hosts. RV park has mostly permanent residents, but there are pull thru FHU sites available for short termers. Lots of room to maneuver a big rig. Gravel drive/sites, decent water pressure, good over the air tv signals, nice view of the mountains, laundry available. Only negatives were weak wi-fi signal and no fenced dog run. Originally planned to stay 3 nights, ended up staying for 6. Lots of outdoorsy stuff to do in the area and a great PA rate. We camped at Mountain Meadows RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Hiking and mountain biking opportunities near Cloudcroft, NM. White Sands is a must do if you've never been before. This was my home base for checking out Las Cruces (about an hr away), Ruidoso (40ish min), Alamogordo (10 min), and Cloudcroft (25ish min).
