Stayed here overnight in July and then again in August. A reasonable stop on the way to and from New England/Canada.

Nice level back-in sites with some grass and mostly dirt. Many activities for seasonals and members. We did not use any of them, but they are available. $2/day charge for cable (which you need).

We will stay here again. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This was our 6th stay at Rondout Valley. When we found this campground in 2000 as we started out as full time RVers we used it as a base to visit family. We loved the park. It was, and remains, a very family and kid friendly park. We always had a decent site although the last time in 2011 we had trouble getting a site to use our dish which is important to us. Now that Thousand Trails/Encore is involved with the campground we thought we would find improvements, especially for the $60 per night rate when Passport America rates are not valid. We found no improvements which makes the $60 rate very high for this campground. One day we walked outside to the heavy smell of sewer. Another day I started to take a shower and the water coming out had a disgusting sulfur smell. I had to ask my wife to go outside to turn off the water so I could switch to the water pump and use the water in the tank.

Also, when I called to make a reservation I told them it was necessary to get a full hookup site that will allow use of the dish. I was told no problem, but when we got there we were told there were no such sites and we had to take a water/electric site in the rally field. Very disappointed in this park. It seemed a better park before Thousand Trails got involved. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort in a Motorhome.

The rate reflects Thousand Trails Membership for 50 amp service. This campground was getting ready to open for the Memorial Day season. There were not too many there other than the annuals but the closer the the weekend came the more packed it became, which is good for them. The pool was in great condition, they have activities planned and a very pleasant atmosphere. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Woodstock Museum was very interesting.

Great staff. Well maintained campground. This campground has a beautiful layout with a rumbling creek running through it. There is also a nice pool and recreation area. We were there too early for most activities, but they are set up for many events over the summer. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of great parks and hiking trails nearby. Ask in the office for great information!

Staff was very nice and helpful. We stayed here while getting our motorhome serviced. They nicely placed us near the showers. The spaces are super spacious. Showers were very clean. There are a lot of permanent campers and for the most part they keep their spaces neat and attractive. We would stay here again if we come to the area. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects RPI discount plus cable. Roads are good, paved going into and around the campground. Sites are gravel and grass. Good phone service. Wi-Fi only at office. Good cable. All utilities fine. Nicely laid out. Security great. Wooded where we were. So shaded, we couldn't set up satellite but as I said cable was great. The site was just wide and long enough. It was close but not as bad as other places. II would stay there again if in the area. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We found this campground to be over crowded and expensive when compared to other campgrounds in the area. Unless you are a member of Encore you can not stay at this site. It did not work for us since we do not belong to Encore. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort in a Motorhome.

Great park and would have given a 10 except that Wi-Fi at the site was not available. Very neat and tidy, even the long term camper sites. Our site was level and very generous in size. We backed up to a lovely wooded creek. This is a wonderful park for families because there are lots of activities for kids in addition to the usual pool and playground. Would definitely stay here again. Our rate reflects an RPI membership. They are also a Thousand Trails park. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The rate was Coast to Coast. This is an old Thousand Trails park with lots of seasonal units. The pool was full of little kids. WiFi didn’t reach us. We would stay here again. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Site was small and surrounded by very loud neighbors. We stayed during 4th of July weekend, and private hours were an absolute joke. Pool was freezing so we only went once. Gangs of teenage boys on bikes hung around in lots of spots, so my daughters were nervous about them. Not much to commend this park, and overpriced unless you have a membership. We stayed to be close to the Shawagunks and Hudson Valley, but would find a different campground should we wish to return to the area. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We drove in, registered, and setup our motor home. When the 30 Amp electricity (the only available to us) showed us with only 95-100 volts we packed up the motor home and left. We would NOT stay there and jeopardize our electrical and electronic gear in the rig. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a destination park. Many sites, mostly in the shade. We asked fo 50 amp and got it. Staff was helpful. All sites are gravel/grass. A number of permanent park models, but these are mostly all in one area. The rest rooms were very clean as were the showers. We used Coast to Coast and would come here again if we were in the area. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort in a Motorhome.

I grew up in the area and knew of the park. They used to drive us nuts with their promotional scams. As a camper with a motorhome it wasn't too bad. I hate the "security gate" at the entrance to the park. It's a menace to big rigs with something in-tow and the security is very questionable! My daughter used her password from the previous season and it allowed access??? How safe could that be! The park is a mixture of full timers and travelers. Wasn't a problem. Lot's of kids! As others complained, water pressure was an issue. I have all the pressure regulators on my motorhome but others were not as fortunate when the pressure surged! Bathrooms were relatively clean with decent showers (sometimes minimal pressure) but not convenient to all especially in the rain. Fairly nice store however, fairly over priced! It's in the boonies so it's a drive for any conveniences! Office staff were decent-not the best but not the worst I've encountered. They were accommodating to our needs overall. With the Hudson Valley rapidly becoming a NYC Burroughs, campgrounds are by no means as plentiful as in the past. Beggars can't be choosy! Overall, I give them a 5. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort in a Motorhome.

This is an RPI park and thus the low cost. This park is in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do in the immediate area. We stayed there for a week and used it as our base to drive to Hyde Park, Rhinebeck, Kingston, etc. The drives were beautiful, although a little long. The park staff was on the verge of being rude. They have very few (5-6) 50 amp sites. We had a full hookup 30 amp site, which was fine because the weather was cool. You must pay for WiFi and the service is very poor. Unless you have a web based email address you can't send or receive email. Over the air TV reception is fair. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort in a Motorhome.
