We were greeted nicely on arrival, and given several choices of campsites. The park is clean and seems well cared for, park staff are very visible. Pool is great. Lots of weekend activities for guests. People around us were really nice. Speaking of guests, I have one comment: It's really obvious that they cater to seasonal campers; we are Thousand Trails members, and were treated very well, but this place is PACKED with seasonal campers, which means there are not a lot of full-hookup sites for short-term guests. On high-demand dates, you should probably not be surprised if you can't get a full-hookup site. We checked in on a Sunday afternoon - at most RV parks we've visited, the place will be nearly empty. Not here. We were told there were only about 5 full hookup sites available. (They do have a "honey wagon" that appears to make daily rounds, but I believe it's as much as $10 a day. Wonder if they charge for that if you reserved a full hookup site and one was not available!) It was not a problem, but to me this is an issue for Thousand Trails members. Now for the negative: The water tastes and smells bad, which may explain why so many of those seasonal campers around us had water filters hooked up. I'm sure it's tested and is OK, but the smell and taste of the water are NOT pleasant. I have 2 suggestions for visitors here. First, take a portable dump tank, just in case. Second, have a water filter system. There is $$$ WIFI, seems to have good coverage; didn't pay for it, so I can't evaluate it. Also $$$ cable TV; again, didn't use it. Do NOT expect to pick up OTA TV - there isn't any. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort Thousand Trails in a Travel Trailer.

I only stayed at round out Valley RV campground for one night when passing through the area. I did not use any of the amenities so can't really speak well of them. The site I had was almost level but the hook ups were not convenient. The electrical hook up and water was fine but the sewer connection was further than I had hose to reach. The cable TV did not work. The campground is mostly seasonal but well maintained and welcoming to transient campers. I would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

We stayed over 4th of July weekend. Maybe the busiest campground I have ever been in. Lots of walkers, kids on bikes and cars. I think they don't allow golf carts as the only ones had staff in them. The place is huge with many seasonals. Site surface was gravel and featured a fire ring and picnic table. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

We reserved full hookup sites (there were 5 families camping together) Upon arrival we were escorted to our sites. Roads were dirt / muddy and filled with large potholes. Arrival at our sites showed they were actually tent sites with scattered water and electric no sewer and heavily treed. We asked why were not getting the full hookup sites we reserved and we were told they go to "Members" first then to non members. This is a "Thousand Trails" campground and they clearly cater to those members. Our sites were just grass and A LOT of mud. No gravel, not even close to level and as it rained they became just complete mud pits. The security / maintenance staff that routinely travel the grounds were very polite and helpful and were clearly put in a spot between a rock and a hard place when management decided to put 30+ foot campers on tent sites. Several campers got stuck backing into or pulling out of sites due to the mud and trees that made turning extremely difficult. My Electrical Management System showed large voltage swings and at one point the drop caused a shutdown of power to my camper. Maintenance staff said the infrastructure has not been updated in this part of the park in close to 40 years The other areas of the park were clean and sites looked to be fairly level and spacious. The pool although too cold to swim in was recently opened and water was very clean. Nice activities for kids and adults as well. My main reason for the poor rating was the bad decision to place large campers in an area designated for tents. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort Thousand Trails in a Travel Trailer.

DO NOT expect a full hookup site even if you reserve one. This campground caters to it's members and will NOT offer any refund for not getting what you paid for. Paid for full hookup including cable and got nothing but spotty electric and water.

Excellent staff, very accommodating and professional. The park is very clean, roads were in excellent shape and sites were spacious, level and configured with easily accessible full hookups including 50 Amp service. This is a Thousand Trails Resort and members are given preference. We are Elite members of Thousand Trails and yes, we were provided preferential treatment is both reasonable and expected considering the cost of membership and the annual dues paid. We enjoyed our stay at Rondout. The staff was super helpful and courteous. There are a variety of sites, shady, sunny, and a mixture. Permanent sites we're all well cared for. Many sites are on the stream, we enjoyed the sounds from the 'babbling brook'. There is a nice forested area for camping that reminded us of our childhood camping days. First, the staff are top notch; very friendly and very accommodating.

We were assigned to a wooded area but had difficulty maneuvering our rig. So we asked to be moved to the field.

We were here on Labor Day weekend so we did expect it to be crowded.

Still it was very quiet And the quiet time was quiet!

We would return this campground. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort Thousand Trails in a Travel Trailer.

This "resort" would best be described as a traditional trailer park. Many "seasonals" are present. We spoke to one very nice lady who has lived there for 12 years. Our campsite was level and FHU under the spreading pine trees. Our site was way in the back, so it was either drive to the front or hike. The on-site cafe was very nice. Food was good. We have been members of this campground for 29 years, the price per day without membership is $60 plus. We have seen it go downhill. They now allow yearly site rental and sale of cabins. Most sites are maintained but others are poor. Cable TV very poor, said they are upgrading. Water has a horrible smell. Grounds are well maintained. Restrooms are dated. When we called to make a reservation, we were told that they did not make reservations, so imagine my surprise when we arrived and was asked did we have a reservation. Person who I talked to on the phone was rude. Staff when we arrived was very nice. Spaces are very close together, and most campers are residents. They charge extra for everything, internet, cable, 50 amps. Our site did not have sewage. I would not stay here again. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort Thousand Trails in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here overnight in July and then again in August. A reasonable stop on the way to and from New England/Canada.

Nice level back-in sites with some grass and mostly dirt. Many activities for seasonals and members. We did not use any of them, but they are available. $2/day charge for cable (which you need).
